BIG CUT by L-Block.
---
Vote for L-Block, the champion of last year's character contest! L-Block shall win again!

Snake did better in the final hour than with the second night vote, so I'd side with the people saying that L's a casual joke.

trannyscience | Posted 10/1/2008 1:23:05 PM | message detail
I disagree there. L-Block is a casual joke; it doesn't have a diehard fanbase. I can't really imagine anyone putting forth the effort of managing a last hour rally for it.

this is so, so wrong. remember when the Block had 60% on Link and Cloud in the first five minutes of the poll? and how ridiculous people were going?

you think those people wouldn't have done everything in their power to make sure the Block wins? or, maybe a better example, when Snake got within 300 votes in that one match last year, remember how the Block randomly got a huge 200 vote surge and it was never close again?

All I'm going to say is that by 6 o'clock, L-Block will be leading again. And at this rate by the last 2 hrs of the match, he'll be ahead by at least 600.

He's gaining like 300/hr.

Good points, but I was mainly just thinking about this match. If Ryu has a lead of a couple hundred, then I'd wager he's still the favorite. If not, good for my bracket, I guess.
ffmasterjose | Posted 10/1/2008 1:33:27 PM | message detail
If L-Block remains consistent like this and remains only within a few hundred votes of Ryu, assuming he overtakes him, there's no way he gets past Round 2 with both the guy he barely manages to beat and Crono.

Even if he takes the ASV decisively, Ryu will likely come back and win this match, but the damage is done. No way Ryu and Crono both get out of round 2.
PartOfYourWorld | Posted 10/1/2008 1:41:33 PM | message detail
People are letting their hatred of L-Block cloud their logic.

Nah, I think people (generally) stopped doing that after last night. Heck, I'm calling L-Block the favorite for first place in each of his matches unless Sandbag does the inexplicable and makes the finals, and I'm trying to stay very realistic here (trying to avoid inflating L-Block's chances just because he's in my bracket).

And man, Ryu is hemorrhaging percentage.
MegatokyoEd | Posted 10/1/2008 1:46:54 PM | message detail
If L-Block's doing this in the ASV this round, imagine next round when he's with Crono and Ryu both sucking it up in the day.

Yeah except he hasn't been. It's nice when you ignore every other update when Ryu stalls it or makes a slight gain but that doesn't mean that's L-Block's rate of ascent.

I'm not saying Ryu's not gonna keep dropping.

If ryu wins with small margin(smaller than 1%) does anyone think he can pull it off again in R2? I can't see L Block losing votes to Crono/Ammy, Ryu losing some to those seems more plausible:\. And also, the dog must have some influence on L Block... And last but not least L Block doesn't need to fear stronger opponents.

Personally I think the Dog is hurting Ryu as much as The L-Block, which isn't much.

And well Ryu is a survivor, I wouldn't be surprised if he advanced with L-Block in round 2, especially since SFIV might be out by then.

Crono got 20% against Link, Vincent, Zero
Ryu got 20% against Cloud, Auron, Marcus Fenix

Advantage Crono but not by a huge margin. I don't think Cloud hurts Auron that much. Ryu vs Crono is going to be a match to watch with L pushing the votals down.
