| Think about it. Look at Duke's second round match, then Marth's match this year. Compare them both to round 1 last year and Duke's previous appearances and something isn't adding up. We have a huge question mark that can't be answered because Orange Box came out between round 1 and round 2 last year. |

| Last year, almost all of Ikes strength was from
SSBB. Do you seriously think FE would be much stronger then any other
niche jrpg series here? And its not like Fire Emblem is huge here, or
did you all forget that FFTA, a hated game, beat Fire Emblem 7 in the
games contest? Do you seriously think a tales character could get 27%
against duke and gordon, with being the only Nintendo presence in the
match? All of his strength was from being announced for BRawl. He might
of gotten 10-12% if it was based off his Fire Emblem strength alone. So
I don't see a HUGE boost for him... some, but like I said, he already

FE is so niche here that it got 35% on the Metal Gear series! Fire
Emblem is nowhere near as niche on GameFAQS as you're acting. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

Has anyone ever brought up The Sabotage Factor? The reason why L-Block
gets stronger throughout the contest is as people's brackets die/they
lose interest in the contest for whatever reason as the contest
progresses, ruining the chances of everyone else's brackets? I personally think it's the best factor to date. --- all hail ec your lord and savior |

Maybe I'm overstating that its an Tales level, but I don't see a game
series that doesn't sell very well (Barely better then Tales series) or
get great reviews (outside of 7 and 8, but the GBA ones that Ike wasn't
in) getting Ike that much of a backing... It just seems waaay too
convinent that he was announced for Brawl right before the nominations
went out, and Everyone rallied around the new sword character, cuz
Sword characters are always the most pick up and play and user friendly

No, the best factor to date is why L-Block will win with 70% tomorrow: ABSURDBRAWLFEAR. Consider this: Tetris has not one, but two songs in Brawl. This clearly portends a boost of truly massive proportions. --- Mustache...and green... |

| I think L-Block will start to roll after the
opening five minutes. It's clear this place will be anti-voting Blocky

Yeah, considering how anti-L-Block this place is, L-Block's going to
have less of a board vote than usual. Of course, it wouldn't really
indicate how he'd do later on, though it may scare people into rallying

Ada > Frank and Balthier >> Kaim, though Ammy looks much
improved from last year...I'll give you that Crono isn't smoking Dante
or anything, but but Vincent didn't look fantastic either and just the
fact that Crono/Vincent was super-close last year and we still don't
fully "get" this format yet is enough to keep me on the edge of my seat

die down. i will agree that L-Block will not die as long as it keeps winning. anyone who thinks L-Block will take second tomorrow without making it past Ryu next round is just fooling themselves. if that stupid block survives tomorrow, it's momentum will keep on building until it wins the contest again. however, i have also always been firmly in the camp that The Dog is going to steal some of L-Block joke vote support - especially after seeing that ridiculous Dog pic. I've always hated that ******* Dog, but now it's our only hope to stop L-Block's reign of terror. --- WARNING: EXPLICIT CONTENT... is the guru champion of awesomeness. |

at first, i thought the L-Block was great - downright awesome even. i
picked it to take second with ease in it's first match and fully
supported. but after it wouldn't go away, it wound up costing me

I don't think the block will have as strong of an opening vote, since
it will be splitting with the Dog. A big reason why I think the block
