Falco making a killing with the morning vote. Figures Portal would have
the "strong beginning and then bleed percentage during the rest of the

And really, it isn't even about name recognition. A lot of Samus' votes
come from her being perceived as stronger than the competition, and
just the 'cool' factor of the Power Suit. Take that away and she's much

I wonder how ZSS would do as a separate entity. I don't really want to
take 2k6 on face value, but right around there with Tifa then?
Obviously we don't know where X lies yet but maybe it'd be a bit like

I think this augurs well for portal, as GlaDOS is never actually
referred to by name within the game, and the picture of her is
borderline unrecognizable, and in any case, is only present for those
who got to the end of the game, and even then, only for a few minutes.
I imagine if she was called "That crazy computer **** from Portal"

yeah the fact that GlaDos is getting 20% in a poll with Falco and Vincent aint bad. Don't get me wrong, Falco isn't anything beyond mid tier and Vincent isn't really dominating like the rest of the upper echelon of FF7 characters do but for a joke character who a lot of people didn't even know was involved in the game 20% is pretty good --- Believe |

the fact that GlaDos is getting 20% in a poll with Falco and Vincent aint bad. Definitely. The fact that GlaDOS can muster 20% with her awful picture and this level of competition all but guarantees that WCC will easily eclipse that. Though it's hard to say how much of that was due to the (lack of a) picture. Neku obviously suffered from it. I wonder he could've gotten close to 13% had there been a pic from the start. Pic seemed to help KOS-MOS, and Ganondorf plummeted once everyone remembered just how ugly he is. Seriously though, Nintendo's bad night vote strikes again! And it struck again for Falco, in case you're wondering! Impressive that Frog didn't lose any demographic to KOS-MOS. He wasn't even hurt that much by the day vote. As much as I hate to say it, it was a good showing by Ganondorf. Yesterday's stats: Ganondorf – 50.00% Frog – 35.59% KOS-MOS – 30.78% Neku Sakuraba – 22.05% For today's match, Falco and GlaDOS are doing much better than I figured, so I'll give Vincent a little benefit of the doubt. 45% is still pretty good, nevertheless. Poor Wander. Vincent currently has 62.47% on Falco, 68.83% on GlaDOS, and 85.53% on Wander. Falco has 57.02% on GlaDOS and 78.03% on Wander. GlaDOS has 72.80% on Wander. Fun Facts: Mario got 86.56% on Wander last year. Vincent got 71.27% on Tails last year, which would imply GlaDOS > Tails. More people are willing to vote for WCC, but given that its match looks
quite a bit like this one, I'm doubting it has the strength it will

And while I'm at it (since I don't get to spend a lot of time here on Sundays), some early analysis! Balthier Bunansa I will preface this match by saying that it’s a total crapshoot in terms of guessing percentages. I really struggled with this one. Okay, so Balthier is the leading man of Final Fantasy XII, the latest of the main series. He came in with pretty high expectations, but fell on his face against Ada Wong not once, but twice. He got beat by Amaterasu of Okami fame as well, and Dante owned him big time. I’ll give him an outside shot at second place just because he’s facing Gordon Freeman, but Balthier could even get fourth place depending on what our newcomer does. Third is most likely though. Big Daddy Big Daddy has a stinkin’ awesome picture. I’ll go ahead and say that now. It’ll probably net him some votes. BioShock has a few polls on GameFAQs, and it’s done fairly well in all of them. It came in 4th place for Multi-platform Game of the Year behind Call of Duty 4, Guitar Hero III, and the Orange Box, and it wasn’t that far behind the last three. I doubt he has much of a chance of winning, but he could surprise. I wonder if he’ll leech off of Gordon Freeman any. It’s something to think about, I guess. I don’t know much about BioShock, honestly. Big Daddy could do well or flop, and neither would surprise me. Gordon Freeman Gordon Freeman with a two year winning streak? What is this world coming to? Seriously though, Gordon made it out of one of the most debated first round fourpacks last year, losing to Duke but beating out Ike. He returned the favor by trashing Mr. Nukem in round 2 and doing respectably well overall. He will probably get second place, and though I’ve heard some people say he’s got a good shot at first place, but I don’t buy it. More on that in a minute. Scorpion Scorpion either does really well in these contests or he gets owned. It’s only one or the other for him here. This year, he’s got another shot at doing really well. He’s understandably the favorite for first place here. Scorpion owned Midna in round 1, and he beat Frog pretty handily in round 2. He also did decently in round 3 against two Noble Niners and Yoshi. I don’t think Gordon’s got much of a chance at beating him here, and I’ll tell you why. Remember round two last year for Mr. Freeman? Remember who else was in that fourpack with him besides Sonic and Duke Nukem? That’s right: Sub-Zero. While Gordon didn’t get rocked, he still lost pretty handily. While Scorpion may be weaker than Sub-Zero, it’s not by enough for Gordon to win. Simple as that. I think WCC will be aided by the DK/Tails semi-split. However, his
biggest advantage is the fact that neither of the two fanbases (Final
Fantasy or Nintendo) seem to care very much about their respective
representatives in this match. Such relatively fickle support is one of
the best things a joke character can hope for, and the Cube has lucked
out bigtime in this regard. Of course, if WCC makes it out of Round 1, he/it is all but guaranteed a spot in the division finals with a Mega Man / Zero fanbase split to help him out. Honestly, I think Balthier takes 4th tomorrow. He let a seecond tier RE
character school him last year (Not even in the main character level of
Leon/Jill), and Bioshock is a FPS that is actually very well respected
on Gamefaqs due to it being more then just a generic FPS. And Big Daddy
is the face of Bioshock, so all Bioshock fans will more then likely
vote for him. Also, I don't see much SFF between Big Daddy and Gordon
because Bioshock is mainly a 360 game and Gordon is mainly known for PC
gaming. I think it'll be Scorpy > Gordon > Big Daddy >

I easily took Gordon over Scorpion, and I would still do so in a 1-on-1 match. I forgot about Big Daddy. I didn't even considering the possibility of Gordon getting leeched. -_- |
