Remember what we once said about the stats topic and the board having diverging consensus every once in awhile? The Guru took Luigi too, twice as many picked him as Bowser. Liquid won't beat Luigi this round, but his performance here bodes
extremely well for the next round, unless Bowser pulls out all the

Does anyone really think this is ALL MGS4, though? As much as I'd like
to believe that, I can't - based on where he is right now Liquid is
projected to get around 46%
on Luigi. Obviously that will fall hard, but even just setting him
equal to Alucard means that's about a one jillion point boost in

Site demographic shift wouldn't explain it unless it were intrinsically
tied to MGS4 - yeah, I've harped on Nintendo losing a step, but Luigi's
still looking good here, especially for the end. Liquid's just

I have Bowser>Luigi next round. Although I didn't spend much time on
my bracket and didn't know that Luigi was heavily favored there. I suppose Luigi being favored makes sense, but why is Bowser such a huge dog? I think it's feasible that Bowser can win there. Bowser held off SFF against Mario back in the day against better than I think Luigi would, at least. I think Luigi goes down some overnight, then goes up some during the
day, and doesn't finish too far from where he is now; while Liquid
increases overnight but bleeds % to Roxas during the day. Not because

Luigi > Bowser is pretty simple - Luigi equalling Bowser's performance on Kirby; Luigi beating Ganondorf last year (pic's a factor here of course, but he did); Luigi performing better in those Mario character polls this is not to say that Luigi's going to win, but there's been a clear trend towards Luigi lately and Bowser's been disappointing all over the place ever since 2005. creativename (#431) I'm honestly not too sure where they both stand against each other, but I'm betting on Luigi being better than Bowser in this format. Last year showed that Bowser is pretty weak to LFF, and Luigi held up well against Ganondorf. However, the weirdness with Shadow/Link this year makes me wonder if there was Bowser/Shadow weirdness last year, i.e. perhaps Bowser is indeed still as strong as ever in this format and will beat Luigi. Shadow/Link this year makes me wonder if there was Bowser/Shadow
weirdness last year, i.e. perhaps Bowser is indeed still as strong as
ever in this format and will beat Luigi Even if there was, it was enough to cause Bowser to lose fairly soundly in a match where most had him as a victor, whereas in Luigi's case he handled Ganondorf (someone he was favored to lose to... and someone who I'd think would be potentially more damaging than Shadow) pretty well. I thought that Bowser would beat Luigi. Sure it was 5 years ago but
Bowser easily won over Yoshi in 2003, and then Yoshi won over Luigi in

I've got Bowser > Luigi. I think Bowser > Yoshi and Yoshi >
Luigi are enough for me. Luigi/Bowser VS Kirby hows me they were
indirectly close like we expected before anyway, plus the difference is
nothing that can't be made up through B> Y and Y > L. I think the
match can easily go either way and Liquid's now making me think he
could make an upset really happen next round, but I'm bigger on
comparing SMB-characters against a SMB-character than a Kirby character

I'm not too concerned about the round 2 match with Bowser and Luigi.
Right now, I'm more concerned about how Geno will perform tomorrow. First, I think Geno might suck tomorrow since Bowser could possibly SFF him to hell. Then there's also a possible chance that Geno will take little damage from SFF, being a lesser known character from a Nintendo game. My Bowser > Liquid pick is looking pretty good, though I may regret
changing from Liquid > Bowser by the time this is said and done. But
overestimating Bowser against a guy named Snake is one of the things

Bowser has historically overperformed to hell and back against guys named Snake. But that was also due to the picture. I see no reason why Bowser > Yoshi > Luigi won't hold true. My reasoning is that it's four way format. A lot of the people voting for Bowser over Yoshi come from outside the core Mario fanbase, and those people will be more likely to abandon him for Liquid/Phoenix/Deckard Cain (still not callin that a lock) than those from the "core" which will favor Luigi. --- Master Chief's quest to defeat Cloud: Round 1 - Raiden/Kain/Other Dude.
