People are forgetting that Fox doubled
Wario last contest, and Wario lost by...what, 3-4% to Meta-Knight. Even
if Wario boosted a great deal from Brawl, being on par with Fox McCloud
isn't going to put a dent in Shadow. >_> --- i am false |

Oh, Aeris would be doing much better. Pretty certain of that -- it

I still say Zack's below most of the playable cast. Maybe stronger
than Cait Sith. I mean, this is impressive by my standards for Zack but
he's not exactly blowing Wario out or anything. Can't say anything for sure, but if Brawl's done anything for Wario this is even better for Zack. Wario's not even close here, after all -- we're closing in a 10% gap between the two. We won't know where Zack really is until next round, but hard to not give him some credit here. Just gotta keep it up come day time. --- let's mosey |

match completely and utterly over, 2k vote lead is too much seeing as
Zack will have some semblance of a day vote - wario will gain some of

Oh, no doubt, I'm giving him some credit. I'll admit when I was wrong in calling a guy, Zack is definitely way higher than I thought he was, and Shadow vs Zack next round is definitely a tough call now. That being said, I'd think all of the FF7 playables would hit around the high 20s minimum on Base Link (cept for again, maybe Cait Sith), so Zack is still probably lower than the lot of em. --- Master Chief's quest to defeat Cloud: Round 1 - Raiden/Kain/Other Dude. Before the contest I pegged him a little under Aeris. Not sure if he'll
end up there, but if he's clearing 20% next round he wouldn't be far
off. Might not be the best comparison, but Vincent got 27% there. See

Well, actually, thinking about it... not so sure Shadow wouldn't be
doing way better than this. He did double Wario a few years ago.
Although Cecil being so far below Wario is a bit odd, that's what's
making me think twice about this. Maybe he's getting SFFed by Zack, or
maybe Wario is decently boosted from Brawl and Zack deserves some

woah creativename sighting, how ya doing bud Hi :) On Wario and Brawl, I don't really see why he'd get a boost of any kind from Brawl. First off, it's Wario, one of the most unimpressive characters we've ever seen relative to his name recognition. Secondly, I wouldn't think that game gave the fanbase any more reason to like him; nor would it expand him to a new fanbase. Thirdly, the factor of it bringing in gamers for that fanbase looking for FAQs shouldn't apply, as that fanbase was always omnipresent here. I still can't see Zack being just a little under Aeris, but from what
I'm seeing so far that might not be so unreasonable. Wario's still
pretty trashy and we don't know how much Cecil is really hurting him,
plus just a headshot of him will put him to the test next round

I took a quick look at the Oracle predictions and am a bit shocked with
where most people are pegging Link. Most predictions I saw had him in
the mid-50s (some in the 40s).
I'm thinking he'll hit the mid-60s at the very least, and I may succumb
to fanboyish urges and give him 70%. I really am expecting him to go to

Thank GOD creativename is back in here. Now we just need NeoElfboy and
solarshadow. I love you, dude. Come back and stay back, dammit. Today is funny. I have Wario > Zack and pretty much hate Crisis Core, but I like Zack quite a lot as a character. He gets away from that brooding-badass-with-a-big-sword archetype, and is pretty much upbeat all game long. He falls in love with Aeris and really means it --- Aeris by the way had a VERY well-done character in CC. Hate her in FF7, but in CC she really redeems herself. *Crisis Core spoilers* And then there's the ending. Without spoiling too much, I love how human Zack is during that ending. This will sound lame, but he really reminded me of Solid Snake. He has powers in-game that none of us will ever have, but the human side of him makes us players relate to him in ways we've all seen and felt ourselves. The way he refused to let his memories go, especially those of Aeris, as he was dying really had me choked up. The way he stood up for and protected a wholly useless infantryman (Cloud) all game is equally touching, since a lot of us could always use a best friend/older brother like that. It's a real pity the gameplay and overall story of Crisis Core is such ass, because the potential was there for it to be great. As-is, I'd give it a 3/10. But more to the point, I like Zack. Being a past contest champ makes watching these polls really easy, because I just root for my favorites and move on. --- MY BROTHERS WILL NOT HAVE DIED IN VAIN! People get attached to characters they can play as in fighting games, especially smash bros People vastly underestimate what fighting games can do. Smash is an obvious example, but Ryu is a better one. Barring that one weird match with Bowser, Ryu is the most consistent character we have in contests. Howdy Ulti! Didn't read the spoilers because I haven't played Crisis Core yet, and I actually don't even remember Zack from FF7 from when I played that game 10 years ago :) However from what I know about him I like him quite a bit anyway, and am definitely inclined to root for him. If you've played FF7, I haven't spoiled anything you don't already know
from FF7 itself. You can read that bit and not lose much, assuming

and honestly there's no real reason to claim superiority over getting
picks right in this contest. it's a crap-shoot, based for the most part

I'm not worried about Zack's total strength really. I'm just happy that
he was able to get such a high percentage in a match. It means that a
lot of people do in fact know who he is (as opposed to a select few
people being really
hardcore about him). Again, with Link grinding everyone's percentage to
nubbins, Zack only needs a portion of today's voters to vote for him. Looking at today's poll, it means that either Crisis Core is more popular than most people are giving it credit for, or FFVII fans are really hardcore (based on Zack's 5 mins of fame in that game). --- Proud Supporter of Zero |
