agreeing with yo - but I think we should give Shadow a chance before burying him. we'll just say that Zack looks great and Shadow needs to step it up.

but I also think this is a poll of apathy - characters we don't care about very much. throw Link in the poll and it's a very different situation.

The weirdest part about this match is that Wario isn't even doing badly. Zack is just overperforming like crazy.

This isn't black haired cloud.

This is emo-Cloud. It's literally Cloud when he went through his emo phase and changed his name to try vainly to escape his fame. And the voters know this. He's getting the emo vote as well as the FFVII vote.

You can't say that since we didn't see Zack pre-Crisis Core. Besides, FF4DS is what, the 8th version of that game? While Crisis Core is at least a new game that prominantly features someone who was always in the background.

Exactly, Crisis Core was a pretty solid sequel in the FF7 universe. The DS remakes are really just one-off projects.

yeah it's really not Wario doing any worse than we expected, it's cecil and jade being complete and utter ass, and Zack completely capitalizing on it. the only "off" update he had was when Cecil suddenly decided to do something. then he went right back to sucking.

For Wario to do "badly" relative to Cecil and Jade it would mean... well, for Cecil and Jade not to horribly, horribly suck. Zack and Wario have been left nearly enough percentage to make this a proper 1v1, and Wario is bombing considering that.

Zack'll be tested by likely not having his sword in the match next round and Shadow has destroyed Wario before (whether you give any credibility to that not or not, Shadow still likely beats Wario today). I dunno...could be fun.

Can't even compare the two. Being on the DS doesn't mean you're automatically better off than anything on the PSP. World of difference between another FFIV remake and a good Final Fantasy VII game -- especially when the latter has sold a whole lot more.

Crisis Core outselling FFIV DS is something I was unaware of and quite frankly never even considered, given the huge install base disparity between the two handhelds.

That certainly seems to be the biggest gap in my logic. I realize that this is the 4th release of FFIV, but if any version WAS going to introduce the game to new players, it would be a completely re-done version on the hottest gaming platform in the world.

Is the remake not good? I've never played it.

Wario's doing about expected and Jade's only 1% under what people had him getting.

Yeah, most of Zack's % is coming from Cecil.

The remake is good, it just didn't sell that well. FFIV already had a GBA rerelease, after all.

Crisis Core got 1+ million.

Well, Zack is impressing here... but this is still Wario I don't feel any worse about my pick for round 3 or round 2 for that matter. You've basically gotta hope Shadow is going to get hurt by Link or something or else he's still takin Zack next round.
