Well I'd say casuals would more then likely vote for Pikachu over
anything. But for people who think pokemon is kiddy or dumb, I'd say
their "oh he looks badass" votes (kinda like Duke) would go to Arthas

This entire board either fears Zack or doesn't care about him. In the BOP... Round 1 - Wario is doubling Zack for 1st place. Round 2 - Zack goes toe and toe with Shadow for 2nd. Round 3 - Zack loses some ground to Shadow though is the 2nd favorite at getting 2nd. I'm kinda flipflopping on Zack now. Seeing those pictures made me
realize he's pretty much drawing exclusively from the hardcore FF7
fanbase and Crisis Core fans, and there's definitely not many that
weren't already hardcore fans. But still, Link is going to sap Shadow dry.... This will basically be about who sucks less. |

Since I indeed have an account bet with Albion over who will place in
second between Arthas/Ike in Round 1, let's discuss that match. Where
do you regulars stand on this match? Arthas and Ike seem rather close
in strength, but I'm pretty much counting on Brawl fear to lead Ike to
second place in this match. Some may find this a perfect situation for
Arthas simply because Pikachu will "take votes via LFF" from Ike, but
apart from Brawl, Ike/Pikachu BARELY share a fanbase, so I don't count
on that effecting him. I think Arthas will be the one to be exposed in
this exchange, and Ike will scratch by in second place. It'll be one

I think Arthas has that match, for a few reasons: 1. Arthas beat Diablo last year... sure, they were both owned by KOS-MOS but you've gotta figure there was some SFF messing that up. Diablo is no slouch... and while that doesn't mean Arthas is stronger than Diablo or anything, he has to be at least somewhat close to Diablo level for that to be possible. 2. Diablo would own Ike. Ike wasn't really impressive last year and Smash can only do so much. I'd take Ike over Arthas 1v1, but I do think it'd be pretty close. 3. Ness was a popular pick back in the day too, and he even he had his
boost limits. Ike probably doesn't go up more than a % or three from
the Smash boost. Maybe own is a strong word... still think Diablo takes

more appealing visually and more fun to play in Smash. you could argue
FE9 vs. Earthbound I guess, but I don't really care about that. Ike is

Oh, I'd take Ike over Ness easily too... I'm just saying Ness was
pretty popular in the first two games (especially the first) and had
even less exposure than Ike before Smash and it only raised him like 5
or 6% total over the original and melee, probably, estimating from from

| I'd take Diablo over Ike even after Brawl. I think people are GREATLY exaggerating the effect Brawl is going to have on most characters. Not to mention Pikachu is in there taking away all of Ike's Brawl support. |

Don't see Wario ever going toe-to-toe with Tidus, if you want to go
there. And no way Wario gets 35% on Mega Man. You can call shenanigans
on 2003 if you want, but Wario still ain't in his league. Shadow looked
