i don't think that's the case after how he beat Crono. it's pretty
clear he was mostly SFF'd but to what extent seems to be the debate. I
think the extent is rather large seeing how I'm sure Crono would have
done much, much better in that position. But Crono isn't really head and shoulders above Vincent. They were actually around the same level, and with Link taking up so much of the votes, anything was game between those two. With the other poll, you're taking out Crono and Zero and adding two characters that are easily more popular than Vincent. Vincent was going to suffer no matter what... --- Proud Supporter of Zero |

I didn't really realize last contest was breaking record for vote

Ok how about this. Let's say Tifa beats out Kratos to get to the next round. In that division it will probably end up being: Sonic Auron Sephiroth Tifa Is it possible MAYBE that sephy and tifa SFF and don't effect Auron enough that he gets by?? I think Sephiroth is too strong not to get first there, even with
double Square LFF. Remember Sonic barely beat Squall with Sora in the
poll. This is like Link/Mario/Samus/Crono (or Vincent): Link is
stronger than Sephiroth, but Mario/Samus are also stronger than
Tifa/Auron, and by a bigger margin. Both Link and Sephiroth should take

That actually concerns me. Remember, that the purpose of the contests more than anything is to bring people to the site. Votals were up a little this past year, but last two matches inside, they weren't THAT much higher overall than 2006 was, female bracket aside. --- You need to meet someone at a garden, or a movie or something. | Mega Man should be beating Link if there was any justice in this world. It kinda sucks how the franchise stopped putting out good games years ago, and subsequently doesn't have new fans to replace the old ones that grew out of gaming. |

Also, I haven't seen much, if any, discussion about
Squall/Yoshi/Sora/Fox. I think that's the biggest second round match
(based on what's in my bracket anyway). Who does everyone have? I have
Squall/Sora. Those two didn't seem to affect each other last year, and
there's plenty of reason to believe Yoshi and Fox will affect each
other. Plus, I doubt Sora's that far off from Yoshi anyway. Still,
Sora's performance after Aeris left kinda concerns me. Don't really
know what to think. Remember Aeris/Sora back in 2k3? Squall not affecting Sora is a fallacy. The only thing I'm wondering for this match is whether to put Yoshi > Squall or Squall > Yoshi (because of Fox's relative weakness). I'm going with Squall for now. What do you guys think of Pacman or Ness in the first round? Pac-Man. I definitely think Ness gets most of his "strength" from SSB. He'll be sharing that. Is it possible MAYBE that sephy and tifa SFF and don't effect Auron enough that he gets by?? Meh just thought I'd throw it out there. Definitely not, should this ever happen. It'll be Sonic and Sephy for sure, maybe Sonic first. |

Aside from fanboys like me who has to take this crraaaazy upset, what are people expecting from Sonic this year? I can see him going from anywhere to lossing to Auron in round 1 to manage to get to the finals thanks to all his recent games and some crazy Cloud/Seph/Snake SFF. --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. Hmm... I never considered Auron > Sonic. Probably because I have
Magus in that match (a pick I feel worse about every day). If he gets
past there he should be good for the semis, but he ain't beating Snake
- format aside, he's not even preferred among the Brawl fanbase.

Nah Auron > Sonic is possible. Just compare these two polls. It's hardly a legit comparison when you take Sonic's weakest and Auron's strongest match. Sonic pre-brawl as well. I think it's very unlikely, Sonic has Brawl and 2 promising releases over the course of the contest. Auron is another year further away from FFX and KH2, even in this format he's not in a position to spring a surprise like that. Besides Sonic is notorious for letting upper midcarders come closer to him than they should but he always pulls through. He's beaten Vincent, Tifa and Squall already, no reason why Auron who's weaker than all of them would somehow defeat him. --- Smurf , The cream of Knuckles Fanboyism. |

once that Auron > Sonic can happen, and everytime I say an upset can

The match between Sonic/Auron/SANDBAG!/Subby will pretty much be a free ticket to the next round for Sonic and Auron. Sonic takes 1st because he's just stronger than all characters in this match by a long shot. as for the Chief, I think a lot depends on who he's with. if it's
Dante, I'd say give the edge to Sonic; if it's Kirby, I'd say give the
edge to the Chief. since Dante advancing heavily depends on Leon losing
to Riku, that match means a damn lot. and since Riku is clearly SFFed by Ramza augh go Hogger screw this bracket --- xyzzy |
