Mithos > Wesker might happen, though I wouldn't put it in my
bracket. It's hard to argue with their kind of deficit back then
though, and Mithos has never had another match. ...was that supposed to counter my Zidane/Cecil comparison? There's probably a bigger difference between Kirby and Crono than Mithos and Wesker, and Zidane was probably SFF'd to some degree too. Meanwhile, Kefka got his Angel pic for the one time in his career here against Wesker and since they're both fodder Wesker's/Mithos's against Kefka shouldn't matter too much head-to-head. What's this I keep hearing about Midna advancing with Cloud? Really?
Seriously? Teh mind is boggled. I know Miles is cult, but every time
I've ever banked on Midna to do something, I get red in my bracket and
feel like a jackass. *sob* If you're going to bank on someone to upset Midna, bank on Axel Steel. I don't think he's gonna come that close to Midna but it's always possible. Edgeworth proved last year that he's fodder and pretty far away from Phoenix, who's only high end fodder himself. Edgeworth did slightly worse (Round 1) than Phoenix did (Round 2) and, Link aside, Edgeworth was against much weaker competition. Cecil's got class and the old-school vote, plus a new remake on the DS. Zidane only has his own annoying ass. Like him or not, Zidane did decent last year, and in 2005 as well. He outranked Cecil in 2005, even with himself being possibly underrated and Cecil being overrated. Cecil's definitely made up some ground, since then, but I would still take Zidane over him. --- You need to meet someone at a garden, or a movie or something. Somewhere classy. Like him or not, Zidane did decent last year, and in 2005 as well.
He outranked Cecil in 2005, even with himself being possibly underrated
and Cecil being overrated. Cecil's definitely made up some ground,
since then, but I would still take Zidane over him. I'm browsing the contest site right now, and yeah, Zidane outranked him but Cecil was 57th and Zidane was 52nd... there was a little more than 1% separating them. I'm sure Cecil's made up at least 1% based off the awesome remake. --- For your health. |

For what it's worth, Cecil still looked bad-ass AND Cecil will probably
need to advance past Wario or Zack to get a fair shake at a more

If it were up to me, Zack would beat Cloud (seeing as Zack is generally
much nicer, saner, and doesn't mope as much). But I've been burned by
too many untested characters who everyone thought would do well to put
my faith in Zack in my bracket. I'd rather take the unreliable devil I

And as far as Zack's strength is concerned, I now only have him making
it past Round 1 with Wario in case he turns out to be a terrible bomb.
I can totally see him being this year's Balty. - Unless you take time to view an optional scene in Final Fantasy VII you don't even see Zack. You just hear references to him a couple times in the game - and even some of those dialogue points require you going out of your way to chat with an NPC or two. - Crisis Core is going to be another big draw for his strength. The fact that it's a PSP game scares me a little...just a little. But not enough to damn him for it. I've heard it's quite popular, not sure how legit that is. - Being a "shadow" of Cloud may not be enough if the resemblance isn't clear enough in the match picture. His spiky black hair needs to be obvious and having the Buster Sword wouldn't hurt him either. ****, I'm starting to have second thoughts about him now... --- 0/0 points - The Great GameFAQs Character Battle VII NP: Wario > Zack |

got in on his own merits. Obviously, a guy with a walk-on role would
never make it before Barret and Red and Yuffie, but here he is, and
only a handful of months after Crisis Core. He's legitimately beaten

I'm usually not this rude, but I think I have to be here: if you
haven't played FF7, you can't even speculate on Zack. Zack is barely
even an FF7 character. this would be like.... nominating Braska in FF10. no, it's worse. you actually see Braska. Zack is barely even noteworthy. it'd be like nominating Kratos's wife or something. Zack is a footnote to FF7's story - an important one, but he has essentially no personality. Zack's entire character comes from Crisis Core, which did pretty well and is a pretty fun game, but it ain't FF7. --- xyzzy |

I'll admit to being completely FFVII-stupid, but Zack really doesn't have to be much at all. Link/Shadow/Wario/Zack He's going to stick out like a sore thumb, and Link is going to ravage that poll. He's also really got that FFVII look going for him. I've seen Cloud's

I'm one of the few crazy enough to take Wario > Cecil. If you're talking about how Zack made it in on his own merits, might as well note how both Kain and Rydia made it into the bracket as well. >_> And Cecil didn't even have a GBA game before his match with Kirby. --- Someone's trying to kill me! Zack basically is Cloud, yeah. I don't deny that. but a lot of
characters have been Cloud wannabes - there's only one Cloud, and just
having a big sword won't do it. (though Zack having the buster sword

Yes, and Zack got in because he's in a different game now. He didn't
get nominated because he's in FFVII - he was nominated for being in
Crisis Core. This doesn't take away from the fact that the people who are voting for him will be the FFVII fanbase. They aren't going to come out in the same droves as they would for Cloud or Vincent, but separating Zack from FFVII is a mistake. When you put him in a division like this, up against characters that this really doesn't care about, the hardcore FFVII fans are going to give him their vote. --- Kept you waiting, huh? |

I don't disagree! you're the one that said they'd vote for Zack just
because he's FF7. I'm saying FF7 fans aren't completely exclusive like
that. they'll vote their guys, but that's because the game is
