Whoa The bracket isn't too bad, but there are 2 really huge wildcards in MMX and Zack. I think people might be overestimating Weighted Companion Cube. It is
totally not the same as L-Block. Everybody has played Tetris and got
the joke. Only a small fraction of that from GameFAQS have even played
Portal. I don't even have the Cube making it past Donkey Kong. L-Block
wouldn't have been able to pull that off at the beginning of last year,

Zack looks like Cloud, of course he's strong. I think Shadow proved that when not so many had played SA2, yet he almost doubled Wario. I think he'l make it out of the division. All that can stop him is Shadow, and that shouldn't be a tough opponent for a Cloud clone with a recent game. --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. EC > Me |

Division 1: First of all, goddamn you Zack. Also, do Lucario and Marth hurt eachother enough to let Altair (another semi-wildcard) and/or Kefka through? I've got Link > Zack for the finals Division 2: Liquid Snake/Roxas could be interesting, but L Snake is the safe bet. Geno/Phoenix should be interesting, but I have a feeling Phoenix will take it in another bout of Board 8 retardedness and SMRPG SFF. A very interesting match is Mario's fourpack. Does he hurt Zelda enough for Knuckles to squeak by? Or does he hurt Knuckles too? Maybe Knux will pull a Shadow here. The later rounds here are going to be a pain in the ass, because MMX definitely has a good shot of winning the division. It all depends on his strength and his ability to resist Mario SFF. Toughest call in the bracket for me. Division 3: Boring division. Samus > Vincent. Frog/KOS-MOS looks like it'll be a great one though. Division 4: Kratos and Kirby are one thing, Crono and Ryu are totally different. I can't see L-block advancing past round 2, and I can see him losing in round 1. Only other comment is poor Diddy. He'll take second to Alucard in round 1then get screwed by Pikachu in the second round. Only question is whether or not he hurts Pikachu enough for Alucard to take 1st Division 5: First match could be trouble, but I'm confident in Tidus > DK. Other than that, poor Zero gets screwed again by SFF, though it should be interesting to see how he stands up to Mega Man again. It's a good thing Teedus is the fourth option in the finals, otherwise we might have had another NN upset. --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |

stingers' upset picks of the year (with explanations): round 1 marth > niko (don't get why people have marth > kefka after kefka lost to vercetti, but whatever) mario > knuckles (knuckles and zelda were already close enough, nintendo SFF kills her) scorpion > gordon (...i dont get why this is an upset but apparently the bracket aim chat disagrees with me. someone explain this to me please) L-Block > meta knight (MK has brawl, is considered one of the best characters in Brawl, and beat peach last year while Ryu barely beat auron with cloud SFF. it's definitely a huge upset pick but meh, I could see it happening) pikachu > arthas (most people have pikachu > ike in the bracket chat, iirc. which strikes me as odd, arthas did pretty well against KOS-MOS considering all of the diablo SFF he had, and KOS-MOS literally finished right below Ike in the stats. now that arthas is the one WITHOUT SFF, and ike is the one with it, I think he could win it.) round 2 niko > marth (seriously, marth and lucario are both only loved because of brawl and will SFF like crazy. Niko is like chief in that his core fanbase is always gonna vote for him. he takes this easily imho) l. snake > luigi (luigi/bowser sff is crazy. l. snake isn't that weak. he takes it.) vincent > GlaDOS (i'm actually kind of unsure about this one. can someone give me a good reason scorpion would take it so i can change this please...or gordon i guess but lol gordon) round 3 mario > mmx (dunno if this is an upset really, but i just want to mention that mario/luigi should be funny) chief > dante (chief outperformed sonic last year...in this format he's really good. dante is a bit stronger with dmc4 and chief is a bit weaker with halo 3 not being as popular but he can still take this) quarters link > mmx (mario is mario. he can't win against link. mmx however, kinda can.) samus > vincent (idk, i like vincent more then crono here) semis link > mmx (seriously i think i love mmx too much but samus also fails to link sff and vincent just cant beat mmx) snake > cloud (seriously. cloud/sephy sff is major (cloud-sephy split 56-44 in 2k4), and snake is much stronger with brawl/mgs4. if anyone is a clinkeroth breaker, it's snake) the final mmx > snake ~*01010010 01001111 01000010*~ --- Xenosaga is way better then any crappy game you enjoy. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/3592/1182804410526mu7.jpg |

Frog/KOS-MOS looks like it'll be a great one though. naah. sadly, frog will take this pretty easily. frog/ganon are split far apart enough that the sff wont be too big, and kos-mos placed below pre-brawl Ike last year. she's not great. whereas frog beat axel and put up a...somewhat decent show against scorpion. ~*01010010 01001111 01000010*~ --- Xenosaga is way better then any crappy game you enjoy. http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/3592/1182804410526mu7.jpg |

to me please)" Gordon isn't strong, Half-Life and Bioshock have a damn good chance of sharing a fanbase, Balthier is the only RPG character there, and, while weak, was at least good enough to make it to round 2 last year (and I'd argue that he looked better than Freeman in the first place.) --- Our eyes were removed For our own safety. 3823-8286-6059 |

Division 6: Sora/Fox/Yoshi/Squall should be good, but if Squall can almost beat Sonic with Sora in the poll, he should have no trouble with Yoshi even without Fox there. The finals are a different story though. I have a feeling Cloud is going to decimate poor Squall. I guess karma for Squall/Tidus Division 7: Kain/Raiden should be good. Raiden sucked enough last year that there's a good chance at this, although in reality, MGS4 will probably out-do FF4DS. And our first complete mystery character, who the hell are Hogger and Siegfried? Kirby might be able to pull a Pikachu in the finals for this one. Division 8: Shame Marcus Fenix got wasted here, I would have liked to see what he could do with GeoW2 releasing mid-contest. Ocelot/Jill again? Should be interesting to see how much Sephy hurts Tifa, but I'm confident in Kratos taking second there. If Tifa manages to advance though, we'll be seeing Sonic > Sephy in the finals. Finals: Ryu in a great position to advance over Vinny/Crono. Zero couldn't do it last year, but Ryu is a lot more independent and shouldn't be hurt by Samus nearly as much. Tere's where it gets messy. Link/Samus/Mario/Ryu. Ryu pulled a big upset off last year due to being against 3 Nintendo characters, can he do it again and advance with Link? And what have we here. If Squall advances with Cloud, could we have a huge upset with Snake/MM over Cloud? If not, looks like we'll be seeing a final match of Link > Cloud > Snake > Ryu --- Like Darth Maul, the bastard child of Michael Flatley and Hellboy. -trancer1 |

I have a hard time getting myself up for this bracket. let's count the Smash characters.. Wario, Link, Marth, Lucario, Luigi, Bowser, Mario, Zelda, Samus, Ganondorf, Falco, Falcon, Diddy, Ike, Pikachu, DK, Olimar, Dedede, Pit, Snake, Yoshi, Mewtwo, Ness, Kirby, Lucas, Nana, SANDBAG. that's just insane. I might have missed one. sure, some of those are legitimate, but holy god. the better question is what character DIDN'T make it. Game and Watch? ROB? as for analysis, I just have one thing to say.. Mario / Mega Man X / Knuckles / Mudkip and if he wins Mario / Luigi / Bowser / Mudkip --- xyzzy |

cloud/sephy split their vote by 12.72%. http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/drupal/node/22?matchnum=2925&num=4 cloud/snake split their vote by 12.22% so if we use that we can assume snake > sephy furthermore 12.22+12.72 = 24.94% that is not enough to get first place.
