I'm going with..... 2-Luigi Kirby 1-Ganondorf Fox McCloud We saw Ganon beat Luigi in the second round by 3%, and it took a bad picture for Luigi to win by 1%. I also feel like Kirby and Fox are going to bother Luigi than Ganon, too, though it's hard to tell...and I can see Kirby pulling an upset, too. He seems to me like he could hold up particularly well though Luigi's beaten him before. 2-Vivi Alucard Kratos 1-Charizard Between the impressions left from Pikachu/Mewtwo/Mudkip/Bidoof's matches, Pikachu already ousting Vivi once last year (albeit thanks to LFF), Ness coming close in Alucard's first round match, DK likely competing with Kratos last year if it wasn't for Marth or Kirby, and Charizard being the only Nintendo/non-PS star...I gotta trust the 'zard. From there, it's tough between Vivi/Kratos, but I think Vivi's fanbase will hold up better, especially without Tidus in the mix this time. 1-Link Mario Samus 2-Solid Snake Link looked too good in the first day of the Battle Royale in 2006. Solid would get a little over half of what's left from Cloud/Seph there, but Link would get the majority of the rest of the Nintendo votes...and LoZ:TP hadn't been released by that point, not to mention SSBB, LoZ:PH, LoZ:OoT selling well on the VC, and even Crossbow Training. MKW, SMG, and MP3 hadn't been released yet either, but Link's still got the big advantage there. Nintendo has also become much more dominant since then. MGS4 would help Solid a lot and SSBB couldn't hurt him, but his SSBB-pull probably wouldn't stick in a match with Nintendo's three biggest icons. Luigi Kirby Ganondorf Fox McCloud Kirby > Luigi. I think Ganon > Luigi in an ordinary 4-way with 2 more unrelated characters, but I think the full-on Nintendo hurts Ganon and helps Kirby relative to Luigi. Vivi Alucard Kratos Charizard Charizard > Kratos. Charizard is the least like the others, and likely the strongest behind Kratos anyway. Just a gut feeling. Link Mario Samus Solid Snake Link > Snake. I'll throw two more out there: Phoenix Wright Captain Olimar CATS Kefka ....Give me Kefka > Wrighto. Kefka will be well out of anybody here's range, and if Wright/Olimar is close, Wrighto WILL win. Zero Yoshi Dante Sora ...Yoshi > Dante. I'd be inclined to think Zero would hurt Yoshi more too (assuming
there's got to be an anomaly here), but I wouldn't think he'd hurt

Phoenix Wright>Kefka Olimar isn't winning, he simply isn't popular enough. Kefka is getting worse and worse each year. Yoshi>Dante Yoshi does really well in 4-way polls, considering his performance last year and how he does in the Favorite Mario Character polls. --- Brawl FC: 4296-2658-3681 (KP) |

Also, going back to the first pack, on top of the polls I already
mentioned, if you were to try the rough extrapolation that is basing
Kefka off of Fenix if Kefka/Fenix and Fenix/Ryu (assuming Ryu-2k6) in
the first and third rounds (respectively) solely by their votes, Kefka
lands a little under Phoenix-2k6. Haha, what a stretch of the
numbers...but still, Kefka's not looking any better and Phoenix looked
stronger last year (format be damned). It backs up what the polls I
posted showed: Kefka isn't exactly smooth-sailing in that match. Since the idea of it maybe being close between Phoenix and Kefka is up, it's worth saying that -- while Phoenix has definitely shown rally-potential -- Kefka has too and has been caught for cheating before as well. Phoenix hasn't had to face somebody that rallies back yet, and Kefka would challenge him there. It would be a lot of fun watching the board raly between them... Some people would go for Kefka, but this Board is still overwhelmingly Phoenix Wright in all things. Wright > Kefka honestly when is the last time Kefka actually won a match. my faith in his ability to come in first = null the second fourpack I have no idea on. x_x I guess...Sora > Yoshi --- The more I learn, the more I realize I don't know anything at all. |

I agree PW would win the rally-battle on B8, but I'm saying it wouldn't
be nearly as one-sided as other rallies like PW > Bomberman or Frog
> Axel. Thus, it would be more difficult for PW to rally and pull a
come-from-behind victory against Kefka if it's close and in Kefka's

I would take Kefka > Phoenix Wright. I don't think much of Olimar
even after Brawl. The only thing that worrys me is if Kefka doesn't
benefit at all from the format which we have no clue on. If he doesn't,
then Phoenix possibly stands a chance. Kefka lands a little under Phoenix-2k6 Kefka probably is below what Phoenix was listed as in 2006, but Phoenix's value in 2006 is based off of a Samus who's at 45 on BL, a Gordon Freeman who obviously overperformed on Sora, and IMO, possible rSFF in his match against Gordon. Gordon's entire Board 8 contingent was gone in that match. --- You need to meet someone at a garden, or a movie or something. Somewhere classy. characters seem to get, PW being around Bomberman's level doesn't

For the record, Bomberman wouldn't flop against Kefka by any means. I

I would go with Sora > Yoshi for the other one. They all appear to
be the same popularity to me, so when in doubt I'll go with who seems

| I like the second pack a lot since Yoshi and Zero
are such huge fan-favorites in their own series while Sora and Dante
are big names in their own right that are right on par or stronger than
them. From there, people can talk about Capcom, Mega Man/Nintendo,
cutesy-ness, characters who made their name on the SNES VS names made

Well, I guess it's to have two supremely weak characters, which actually does change my prediction. With slightly stronger characters I'd have Phoenix beating Kefka. Zero Yoshi Dante Sora Dante > Sora. I don't really give Pikmin much credit on this site, much less Olimar.
I'm not really even paying attention to his 2002 match... that could be
Lucas or a handful of other Smash characters and I'd say the same

I'm calling bracket Friday, which sucks because I have a party that night, and am heading out to camp in the morning. No early leaderboard action for me =( Phoenix Wright Captain Olimar CATS Kefka Zero Yoshi Dante Sora Kefka > Wright Dante > Sora I would put Sora Dante and Yoshi close to eachother with Zero a bit behind them, but all evidence seems to point at massive Nintendo/Mega man overlap. Mega Man/Yoshi, Mario/Zero, Mega Man/Link, Luigi/Zero and Link/Crono/Vincent/Zero. I have a feeling this is gonna one ****ed up bracket. Weird seedings
and what not. Like Samus with a 4th Seed or something nuts like that.

We haven't seen a truly weird one in awhile. I mean I guess the four
way was weird in a traditional sense, but it was pre-made to be nuts,
so I don't really count that. 04 was something I'd probably classify as

i hope we get ****** up seedings that screw the casuals,last year we
had a lot of fun with all these people who were illiterate,i wasn't
there for Halo vs Starcraft but I assume a lot of casuals started
