| Link, WW(or toon) Link has been in Brawl, aswell
as Phantom Hourglass, so there is probably less hate for WW Link than 5

I would love to see Cloud win over Link, but I doubt it will ever
happen again. Actually I think it's more likely that Snake beats Link

Depends if it's Toon Link and Link in the same bracket or if it's just Link with a WW pic. Considering how powerful Link is now, I don't think a WW pic would hurt him enough to let Cloud win. --- i got nuthin |

LeonhartFour (#344) I think you're REALLY overestimating MGS on this site. Sure, Big Boss was good last contest, but he was still closer to Phoenix Wright than he was to Mario. X has to be significantly weaker than Zero in order to be in Big Boss-range. Magus may not be fodder, but he did barely break 30% on Bomberman, Phoenix Wright, and Crash Bandicoot. For reference, those three have combined for zero wins post-2k2. Magus isn't even close to being the same guy who lost to Knuckles in 2k5. Magus isn't a joke, but he's the Notre Dame of contests. He's a big contest name, but he's just a shell of what he used to be. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Magus were closer to Tommy Vercetti than to Knuckles nowadays. >_> --- Nominate King Harkinian from Link: The Faces of Evil! I think Dark Samus is too far removed from Metroid to be that high.
Dark Samus was really only in two games, and not even the major villain
in both. Super Metroid and the handheld games are too important in the
series. Besides, Prime2/ 3 didn't get as much attention as the first
Prime, where Dark Samus isn't really included. Dark Link is kind of the same thing, really. One canon appearance (correct me if i'm wrong), although Brawl helps. WWLink Paper Mario Dark Link Mega Man X Dark Samus --- You don't stand a ghost of a chance! |

Toon Link Dark Link Mega Man X Paper Mario Dark Samus Dark Link has made 2 appearances in Zelda games(Zelda 2 and OoT), i think, though Toon Link has been in brawl(plus WW+PH), so i'll put him ahead(though Dark>Toon could happen in a match between them). Not appearing very much isn't necessarily a bad thing for Dark Link and
Dark Samus. It means the voters are less likely to realize that they

somehow, I think Dark Link and Dark Samus could be in every single
Zelda and Metroid game respectively and tons of voters would still

Give me a FF7 remake on the PS3 with uberleet graphics, and I'll take
Cloud easily over Link, even if we get a new Zelda game the same year. Link really has nowhere to go, and he'll never get stronger/weaker, so it would have to be up to Cloud to beat him, and he'd need FF7-2 to do it. 2003 was all Cloud boosting, KH was his first game appearance since 1997 so it makes sense that he went through the roof. If KH can do that, I can see him scoring an Ulti-style blowout on Link. Yeah, it's not like the GameFAQs demographic hasn't changed at all
over the years. The release of Twilight Princess, plus Phantom
Hourglass, plus Brawl couldn't possibly bring more Link fans to the

L Block power in a multi way poll and power in a one on one match are
different things. Y's performance shows that L-Block would probably
still be a force in a 4 way match, but we don't know if it'll be enough
for L-Block to cross the 50% mark to win a 1 on 1 match against a

Y's only winning because no one has a favorite vowel, and sometimes Y was kinda funny. (I voted A, though) To comment on the ranking of the side characters, I don't see why so many people are putting Toon Link over Dark Link. Who cares if Toon Link has more appearances... he was the object of much hatred back in the day and I haven't really seen a huge reason for most of it to go away. SSBB will help some... but it'll help Dark Link some too. I dunno... a toughie to be sure, but I think the badass evil Link wins that one. That being said: Mega Man X Paper Mario Dark Link Toon Link Dark Samus And no, I don't even think Mega Man X is going to be that strong... I just don't think gimmick spinoff characters would do that well. I take Paper Mario to have a good chance to beat MMX because at least he stars in a game that people don't (relatively) hate. I think high midcarders could take any (MMX included) of these guys down, Noble Nine namesake be damned. I can't see how Mega Man X would be any weaker than Mega Man. X fans
have been using Mega Man as an outlet for their support for years, and

Toon Link is like Pikachu in that though there used to be a good amount
of anti-fans, time has essentially dissolved them. He stars in two
games and Brawl, while Dark Link has a cameo in OoT and is the final
boss in the least liked Zelda excluding the CD-i games (though I love
it). I'd choose Toon Link > Dark Link in a heartbeat. --- i got nuthin |

clear-cut that Bacon didn't even bother waiting until they closed to
start making the bracket, and it's actually finished and he's posting
