| Excluding 2k2 which didn't have a formal
nomination system, 2k3 was the shortest nomination period at around 2
days. The longest was the Spring 2006 Nomination period lasting a

| we didn't have a huge nomination period until
2006. 2005 was like three or four days. it was like the contests

I was thinking the Series Contest reached the front page in the last week or less, but maybe I'm wrong. And I'm convinced Tingle got into SC2K6 because Ceej started nominations during Zelda/Metroid when there was a match pic of Tingle. Mac Arrowny (#120) I have a feeling we won't have another Tournament of Champions/Battle Royale thing and will actually have Link and Cloud and the rest in the main bracket as well. Though I guess we could have an 8-bracket ToC with Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Samus, Snake (as male bracket winner), L-Block, and whoever wins this contest, but that would just be convulted and kind of a waste of Samus, Snake, and especially L-Block who could be anywhere from high-level fodder to near-elite. I kind of wonder how the bracket's going to be set up now, assuming it's a 1v1. --- i got nuthin |

IMO, it's been too long since we've had a no-holds-barred straight up
contest, so I hope the champions are all allowed in and it's just 1 on

Man L-block would get decimated if there was a ToC in a 1-1 contest. No
time to assemble a bandwagon, no momentum, and one on one versus a

Dilated Chemist (#133) Then nominate them. I have no problem with them in the contest. The stats topic isn't your personal whining topic, though that won't stop me from laughing at you. As for the ToC, Champion/L-Block and Snake/Samus are clear choices. Why not mix it up by doing rematches of Link/Mario and Cloud/Sephiroth? Then we have the 2002, 2003, and 2006 finals, and if Cloud and Link are on different sides, we could relive 2004 as well. Of course, that makes the semi-finals and robs us of a potential Snake/Sephiroth match, but at least there's some novelty in reliving a lot of past finals and having our Cloud/Link final. --- i got nuthin |

I don't consider L-Block a real character, BUT seeing it in last year
and being able to pull such upsets gives you and I both the personal
right to complain about something and have our complaints not matter. I'm choosing to save my hand-strength about it, and it even cost me prize-money last year. If you think Snake doesn't stand a chance, I think you might just be sadly mistaken. another thing, how many joke characters/entries will be too many for a contest? I rarely see the "joke" in these things, so I personally prefer as few as possible. I think people forget how strong Sephiroth still is. Snake is going to
have to be able to 55/45 Mario before he can take on Sephy. I don't
think he's quite there yet, considering he was just 55/45ing Mega Man
and Sonic a couple of years ago. He'd have to be able to get about 60%
on them now. That's a pretty big jump. I also had a nightmare that the bracket was released, and it was full of fodder and stuff like that! But on the plus side, Mario and Sonic finally ended up with a path
where they could face each other, and Seifer's path was so ridiculously

| Mario vs. Sonic would be awesome, though I tend to
think it'd be disappointingly one-sided. Sonic beat Crono, but just
