As for the surveillance camera... it's just lame. I'm not sure what
I can say, really. I just don't see what's funny about it other than
"it's an object let's nominate it for the lulz." I've never seen any
sort of charm in the surveillance camera, maybe you could explain to me
why you think it's funny instead of me explaining what's so bad? "A surveillance camera?" is just one of Snake's most memorable quotes for me, along with "hmm" or repeating stuff he just heard ("Metal.. Gear"). ^ Yeah I said that in my post, actually. Amongst those random
exclamations, the surveillance camera is just the best. Well I like
"metal.. gear" a lot as well, but then you'd have to bring up the
question of Metal Gear Rex or Ray and the joke would be entirely lost,

Serious as in no one would look at the poll seeing some giant
villain-looking machinery and think "Metal.. Gear?", an effect that the

*shrug* I guess, man. I still think it's idiotic. I mean, it's better than orange fret, but that's about it. The fact that Snake does that for everything makes it less funny with respect to the surveillance camera. Snake's the real joke character here, honestly. But I think my main peeve about it all is that it's just annoying that MGS has so many great characters that are getting less nominations than a stupid ass surveillance camera, I guess. Not just Raiden... I don't think any noteworthy Metal Gear characters are losing
nominations to the surveillance camera. There may not be rallies for
characters like Otacon or Laughing Octopus - two characters we really
don't need to see to begin with...then again, we don't need to see the
camera either - but I'd doubt they're getting ignored. We'll get a
number of Metal Gear characters this year over the camera; not much to
worry about there. I doubt the thing even gets in. --- Kept you waiting, huh? |

We don't need to see them, no, and they'd probably be fodder... but I'd
still get more entertainment out of seeing them than the camera,
because they're cool characters even if they're destined to be weak. Were the camera from basically any other series I probably wouldn't be as spiteful towards it, but to me the MGS fanbase just dropped the ball with this nonsense. And no I really doubt the camera gets in regardless of how many votes it gets. Drebin should be fine. He should get plenty of support from people who
played MGS4, even if some of them are nominating the surveillance
camera. If there's any new Metal Gear character that gets in this year,

TSC seems like a cool guy to me. Surely I'm not the only one who imagines the L-Block as a living being that loves ramming into things and has issues fitting in. It's clear why GameFAQs and a lot of the internet could identify with L-Block and root for it as an underdog. It wasn't just a Tetris block, it was the hopes and dreams of every internet user culminating together to bring hope to many lives, hope that someday they too can achieve greatness despite difficulty fitting in to the norms of society. People only say the L-Block's not a character because they're too close-minded to look beneath the exterior. It's the whole "Ladder vs Stepladder" thing in the Phoenix Wright series. --- i got nuthin |

And after seeing how L-Block was abandoned against ? Block and the
others, I'd probably take Phoenix Wright. Not saying PW is a joke
character, just saying that I think he has the devoted fanbase to take
it down. The problem is more people know L-Block than Phoenix Wright, so I don't
think Phoenix has a large enough fanbase to prevent recognizability
votes that would go to the L-Block. Though now I'm curious if the ? Block would double L-Block. --- i got nuthin |

The noms will probably close tomorrow afternoon (maybe even tonight at
midnight PST or something), and then we'll get the bracket tomorrow,
giving us two weeks to predict until September 1st when the contest

Camera is third to the Orange Fret and the Blue Virus in the "this is

Buster Sword is a bit more original though. I'm sure most people
wouldn't be able to pick out the Master Sword from a lineup, but

I'd have to go with the Master Sword as well, just because it's in most
of the main games, and the sum of all the Zelda games is stronger than
FF7, though the Buster Sword has recognizability and is associated with
