ah, turtle turtle. Mega Man/Sonic- Another great potential match. They were dead even in 2k5 and 2k6, and last year Sonic looked like crap despite having Brawl. That combined with MM9 coming in September makes me think Mega Man should take it. no comment. Zelda/Zero- For me, this is basically the same as Tifa/Auron. Zelda looked like crap, and got much less on Vincent than Zero got on Crono last year. Turtle is becoming a MM fanboy for some reason and thinks all the MM
characters are at least twice as strong as they actually are. Don't
know why, unless he thinks the site somehow shifted back to the SNES
days. all the lower characters are going to drop, like Ike, Meta-Knight, Fox etc. How DARE you call Fox a lower Nintendo character. Fox > DK, I'd guarantee it! --- Good Times, Great Memories |

but i must comment on this one. why the HELL do you think Zelda dropped after TP's release? I'm not saying she dropped, I'm just saying that last year's Zelda was comparable to 2k5 Zelda, who I would peg comfortably lower than Zero. http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2876 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2902 Zero did way better on Crono than Zelda did on Vincent, and Vincent didn't beat Crono by that much. Not only that, but look at how badly Midna bombed. Twilight Princess clearly didn't do much of anything for anybody not named Link. Zelda and Ganondorf have both looked terrible in 2k7 and Ganondorf was even worse in 2k6. I wouldn't take too much out of those four way matches there Turtle. Anyways, now you got me thinking. How would you rank these Nintendo characters, based on contest strength (not necessarily who would win because of SFF and all that)? Luigi stinking it up against Sonic. just take his performance against Ryu Hayabusa is comparison to Dante's (and Dante is already around Zelda's level). and Luigi didnt stink up anything. he performed around expected even considering that Sonic at least gained a teeny bit. Zero doing well in that match only tells me that he shared the least with all three guys and had a hardcore fanbase. honestly, that four-way poll just isnt enough justification. we've already established that damsels in distress perform horribly in four-way polls. Zero would struggle to beat Zelda even in Mega Man's best year. it's going to take a huge leap of faith for me to believe he's back up to that level from.. nothing. i think he's a bit higher than what 2k6 says but I wouldn't take him over say, Dante. --- *is Dranze* Explicit Contest is my lord. |

Zelda and Ganondorf have both looked terrible in 2k7 and Ganondorf
was even worse in 2k6. This is why I wouldn't put TP that much higher
than 2k4 Wind Waker. I agree with you on TP's placement, if anything possibly a little lower, but I don't agree on Ganondorf looking worse either year. In 2006, he was just as good as 2005, even if you take into account the overinflated rankings characters were probably given in the X-Stats. He lost to Vincent by pretty much the same amount he was expected to in 2005. And in 2007 he probably only lost to Luigi due to his sprite picture, albeit he let Luigi get somewhat close the match before. Not by an embarrassing amount however. --- You need to meet someone at a garden, or a movie or something. Somewhere classy. Like a cooking recipe message board or something.--True Godhand/Curt |

| Just crossed the 116,000 nomination mark. Assuming
the average user is responsible for about 15 of those (as in casuals
might only use a few while some people might have used 25 with adds and
deletions), that comes out to roughly 8,000 users having already filled
out this nom ballot. That... seems pretty impressive. Hard to say since
we've never seen nomination numbers before, but last season for example

I'm saying two things: 1) Your past upset-calls do NOT note your prediction skills nor your ability to analyze. 2) Any backlash Nintendo has right now from E3 (which is still exaggerated) is easily replaced by how well received SMG, SSBB, and MKW have been in the past year. OK, to make some conversation (and to keep the TuRtLe bashing to a minimum), I've got a question. Will Crono stay Noble 9? I say, and get ready for this, nay. And I think that there's gonna be an unlikely face doing the killing blow. It still all depends on the bracket, but I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Dante, Master Chief, or even someone completely out of left field was the one to do it. (NOTE: All of the following is moot if Chrono Trigger DS is announced before the match.) Chrono Trigger has been dropping for years. Chrono beating Mario was arguably the peak of Chrono Trigger's E-Popularity, and since then, we've seen Sonic take him down, as well as Magus and Frog falling, and falling fairly hard. Now, if Crono gets lucky he'll get a lower seed, and have to face a NNer before anyone weaker can get to him, but it's almost going to be a kind of headhunt, just to see who gets to break it "officially". As an aside, I would love love love to see Sub-Zero do well. Any other characters that you like that could potentially do well, or better than expected? --- Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
