Yeah, anyone coming into the topic overnight trying to make sense of
all those names we were posting should check out the topic where we
solved the mystery: http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=8&topic=44772328 ...but, we were still confused for the first couple pages of that topic, so you have to read in a ways. Funny enough, when I nominated Charizard, I put his game as "Pokemon
Red/Blue" since he hadn't made the suggestion list yet. Then when I
came back to the board after work, I find my nomination has been
changed so that the nom reads that game as "Pokemon". After viewing the
source, the nomination still has a low value, so it looks like SB has
been renaming nomations so that slight variations don't slip through

So lets say that Megaman X gets in as a seperate character, would you take him over this characters? Masterchief? Sora? Squall? Auron? Vincent? Ryu? Zero? Dante? Bowser? Yoshi? Tifa? Ganondorf? I know I will ;) --- The username says it all. |

I'm really not sure what to make of that recommended spellings list.
I'm guessing a character has to get a certain amount of nominations

Fenix is on that list. how do people even know which characters have strong noms? Wait, why are so many people taking Ryu > Bowser when they had a 1v1
match in which Ryu got demolished (his worst loss to date)? When Brawl
has been released since that time? Did last year's result change
everyone's minds? Do people expect SF4 to make that much difference?

Vincent - I wouldn't have taken the upset last year, but this year, I'm in! Vincent - Vinny still wins this one, unfortunately. Sonic - Brawl > MM9 Auron - Anti-Ganondorf guy here Luigi - I'm not really sure. Yoshi's always proven to be stronger than Luigi, and he barely beat Dante. I'm just going favoritism here. Zero - Zero > Sub-Zero Tifa - When in doubt, go FFVII Bowser - I picked Ryu to go as far as he did last year, and I still wouldn't pick him to win Zelda - Easy. If Zero can't beat Luigi, he ain't beatin' Zelda. Crono - favoritism Squall - They were all-but equal pre-KH2. KH2 will push Squall over the hump. Sonic - Brawl, lol. Sonic > Snake is more likely than Mega Man > Sonic Ganondorf - These two were about equal pre-TP, if not still Ganondorf > Auron. Ganondorf'll take this fairly safely. Luigi - ...Luigi has been impressing since 2k5. I'd rather get burned this time by overestimating Luigi than by underestimating the guy. Zero - Leon put it best. Tifa - lol FFVII Bowser - uhh......is there ANY logic for Ryu > Bowser? Since their match, Ryu got a game GameFAQS could barely care less about, while Bowser has gotten what will probably be two GotYs. Zelda - .....I want to take Zero. As for the matches Crono - 4 pack victory doesn't mean jack, no reason for Vincent to increase that much, but it could happen. Vincent - See no reason for this to change, but it's a tossup. Sonic - he has relevant games lately Auron - Think Nintendo's on the decline a bit, Smash be damned. Auron should turn this. Dante - DMC4, fools. Master Chief - Not ALL of last year was format. Auron - If nothing else for SFF reasons. Bowser - I picked Ryu last year but I see no reason for a 10% swing in a 1v1 match right now in Ryu's favor of all people. By the way, am I the only one that expects that maybe Nintendo will see
a DECREASE this year, even possibly below 2006 levels? Yes, Brawl. But
I don't know... to me, it seemed like the Internet was more abuzz about
Nintendo before
Brawl... now it's happened, and it's a few months past its release.
Sure, people still talk about it... but I think a lot of people are
