Earlier, I suggested: Banjo-Kazooie Conker's Bad Fur Day Goldeneye 007 LoZ:MM Mario Party Perfect Dark Pilotwings 64 Super Smash Bros. As is Yoshi's Story. The others are solid though -- I'm especially liking Blast Corps, though it would undoubtedly bomb. I know this is practically a joke poll, but...Castlevania beating Mega
Man makes me wonder what has happened to Alucard over the past couple
of contests. The franchise is obviously still popular, though perhaps

You know, these polls are fun and I do think we can take a little from
them...but we should ultimately remember these aren't worth much.
They're suggesting Battletoads > Final Fantasy, Earthbound >>

Looks like there's still a strong joke-vote presence on GameFAQs, which is fine with me. I'm interested to see how a popular joke character/game would do in 1v1. Oh, it's bound to still be mostly for C:SotN. Between its contest
strength, the old CV-poll out there with C:SotN having nearly half the
votes, and the Xbox Live Arcade port...nah, it's still gonna be the

The options in this poll are horrendous. No Sonic games, NBA Jam or

Bloodlines was five votes away from being in last place for the
poll. Of course, it's old and plenty of things can change...but if it's
as weak as this poll suggests, honestly, no wonder Shaq-Fu is in
striking distance. Portrait of Ruin is a direct sequel to Bloodlines, so that may have upped it a little. What's stunning me is how Shadowrun (a game that I figured was a lot less popular than it's SNES counterpart, even if it was closer to the feel of the P+P game) is beating Zero Wing. --- I was soundly thrashed by Explicit Content, our reigning Guru Champion. www.rpgdl.com - Because everybody loves violent arena battles, right? |

Wing...and I hear ZW is actually a good game, too. I'm surprised it's

Results at the end of the Power Hour. Which classic Nintendo 64 game would you most like to see announced for the Wii's Virtual Console? Donkey Kong 64 7.97% 72 GoldenEye 30.45% 275 Harvest Moon 64 6.09% 55 The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 24.03% 217 Mario Golf 1.55% 14 Perfect Dark 8.42% 76 Pilotwings 64 2.44% 22 Super Smash Bros. 19.05% 172 TOTAL VOTES 903 You see gang? This is why despite no Live remake, no VC re-release, no sequel since 2000, and constant criticism on "it hasn't aged well!", I'd still back GE to take down MGS or any similar competition here in 2008. Choppy framerates and outdated graphics have nothing on pure 90's multi nostalgia, and that's why the casual voters are pushing out the game out to such an astounding performance once again- that #007 finish in the Top 100 is looking just about right! (Also keep in mind that the current lead is happening despite PD being in the poll, providing an 8% vote anchor. this is DAMN impressive by Goldeneye. unlike the other polls, I believe this one has a bit of credibility. HM and I have been talking - he says this isn't very impressive and that Goldeneye is benefitting from Smash and Zelda sapping each other's votes; I say it's very impressive and that if Goldeneye was so independent, what happened in Ocarina/Goldeneye? maybe we're overanalyzing, but this is our two biggest wildcards getting beat down by a game no one really believed in until 2005. with PD in the poll. --- xyzzy *waits patiently for a Game Contest* |
