KamikazePotato (#048) well, the difference is that we haven't gotten a fan-favorite in yet. sure, this argument doesn't hold much water but i'm hopeful. i'm pretty confident in seeing Shadow as a fan-favorite; kinda like Auron or Vivi. FFVI is too big of a game to have Shadow be below fodder methinks. or at least Cecil. as for SMK vs MMX, my gut tells me SMK. not much explaining to it, really. --- *is Dranze* Brawl FC: 4081-5169-8762 |

Also, keep SSB out of the N64 poll just to make it interesting. Otherwise, it'll be a slaughter. With both LoZ:MM and Goldeneye (despite PD), I can't see it being a slaughter in SSB's favor. Also, on the MMX/SMK discussion...give me SMK. I think "Mega Man" in
the Series Contest unintentionally embodies more than just the original
MM games, thus making it likely stronger than the MMX series. Throw in
that SMK is probably the second strongest MK game, that it sold
wonderfully for the SNES, and that SMK is beating MMX right now despite
having another Nintendo game in the poll (EB SFF'ing SMK? Eh...it's
worth noting just in case) makes me think SMK > MMX. It's not out of
MMX's reach, but this poll's not doing anything to convince me
otherwise despite this poll not being terribly credible. Oh, and as a MM-original fan, I'll play almost any MM game over MMX. yup, I like every NES MM game over MMX. but I still think of MMX as
being in the Mega Man series. you have to look at the Mega Man series
as encompassing ALL Mega Man games, including MMX. regular people

EB? over SMK? if Doom can beat it as can Mortal Kombat, i don't see why SMK couldn't. If you're going to nominate another Final Fantasy character you might
as well make it one that would be worth something. Might as well go for

I figure the same about EB, but how about a SMK/Doom match? As for the FF3/6 debate: I would help nominate Locke or maybe Mog, but nobody else. Shadow might be worthwhile, but I wouldn't support him with either a vote or a nomination. Why anyone would want any more FFVI characters into the contest is
beyond me. None of them are very good and they're all destined to fail. Because you've got to have fodder somewhere, so it might as well be good fodder! Also, seeing that people seem to prefer Sabin over Edgar two-to-one pleases me. I like Edgar, but Sabin is the superior brother! Also, whoever suggested that all MM games will perform the same (or at least close) is crazy. Sure, a person may LIKE all of the games (though that's not necessarily true), but they like them different amounts. I like just about every Final Fantasy game in the series, but I like them different amounts. There are games I'd vote FFVII over that I wouldn't vote, say, FFV over. And Earthbound would NOT beat Mario Kart. Can't see it losing to Doom or Mortal Kombat. Then again, I've been wrong before. Sabin is my fave of the bunch, and the only one that I like more than a little. he's not more popular than Kefka, though, and this eternal search for the strong FF6 character has dragged on way longer than it should have. it should have died when Celes got beat down by the Boss. --- xyzzy *waits patiently for a Game Contest* |

Also, I'm not convinced Mog would do well. Remember that poll we had
not long ago asking what your favorite FF mainstay was? Well, if you
don't, here it is! Oh, I have no doubt that Kefka would beat Sabin, unfortunately. He's
too minor. It's kinda like Zell getting second in that Favorite FFVIII
poll. I still don't want to see him in a contest. Well, I kinda do, just to get ANY other FFVIII character into a contest, but he wouldn't be my first choice. I'd go with Laguna, Seifer, or even Rinoa before Zell. --- "But you have been given freedom. Freedom to be...outside." |

Seriously though, moogles are more of an old school Final Fantasy
mainstay, really. They're not prevalent (or even existent) in some of

I don't see the appeal, other than the fact that he's a moogle, which has been in several FF games.
