If Battletoads is simply as strong as Contra, it's worth 19.31% on
FFVII. It seems to me that it's worth a good bit more. Of course, how
much higher is up for debate. Remember that SFII is at 24%, so how much

Nah, it was close to the likes of Duck Hunt and was clearly beating
Contra before the huge gains started. It wasn't third-to-last material

But how much has that rallying been worth? It started so early that we
don't know. Metal Gear was right there with FF at the freeze. The early

Battletoads is probably the 2nd-strongest game in this poll. It was
easily beating Contra before the rallying happened, and it is tearing
it up right now. Hell, unless you think there is rallying going on at
every point in this poll, Battletoads is looking REALLY good just based

I'm pretty sure it was in that distant third group with DH, DW and
Contra. regardless, this is one of those unique situations where
splitting the vote seven ways helps it out a ton thanks to its, um,

I would hope we wouldn't have eras, but Battletoads isn't a better rep
than Metal Gear, no. That match isn't close one-on-one. It's one thing
to win a multi-way poll here thanks to a big rally, but it's another to

Metal Gear rocks it just because of the name. Contra is and always will be far more popular than Battletoads. Battletoads has this won, no doubt. Too many people outside of the site
want 'Toads to win, lots of people here are rooting for 'Toads and
supporting it, and it was doing decent enough on its own in the opening
minutes. When FF gets too close, you'll see a spike and a larger

As for an actual contest...hey, I know 'Toads was beating Contra
earlier and is now winning the poll, but I would take Contra >
'Toads instinctively. Also, though Contra may have been worth ~19% in
2004, there's no way I'm taking 'Toads to be worth that NOW

Battletoads would not be worth much in a contest setting. The only
