MGS 2/MGS 3 just reminds me of Balthier for some reason. I've played
neither of them, but all the people who have seem to keep saying that
MGS 3 will win, and I'm just blindly putting my faith in the fact that
they know what they are talking about. Despite everyone telling me the
opposite my gut just says to go for MGS 2. --- You need to meet someone at a garden, or a movie or something. Somewhere classy. Like a cooking recipe message board or something.--True Godhand/Curt |

I guess, but I'd pick Pokemon > Halo without thinking too hard.
Metroid isn't respected very much (god only effing knows why), and
Pokemon will be a BEAST if there's ever another games contest. I don't
think Pikachu's run last year was a fluke. There's a misunderstanding -- they aren't in the same four-pack. Oh, and about MGS2/MGS3...I'm taking MGS3 and never looking back. It'd
be close, but MGS3 wasn't hated when it first came out much like MGS2
was and its cast was much more enjoyed as a whole... ...then, to look into GameFAQs: not only does its reader reviews rank much higher (which have been there since they were released), but MGS3 also has a higher user rating than MGS2 (and that feature just became available this month) so we see that feeling has lasted. It's also nice to see MGS3 has more reviews and rankings to combine with those higher scores. MGS3's FAQs and message board are more popular too, though that never means much by itself. Both Big Boss and Revolver would probably beat Raiden pre-MGS4. I've seen/heard more people who consider MGS3 the best in the series than MGS2. Last, MGS3 cleanly outdid MGS2 in the Top 100 List...before MGS3:Subsistence came out. MGS2 had better reviews from professionals than MGS3, to be fair, but I don't think that affects this particular battle (and if you wanted to get picky, Subsistence > Substance in professional reviews anyway). I think if it comes down to a direct battle between the two, fans of the series will not side enough with the story that has so many ridiculous twists and Raiden as the lead. Seriously, that was the most unfair picture ever. Nah, that's not why Sonic lost, but it doesn't mean it wasn't an unfair
picture. Just because the picture didn't change the outcome of the

Some sprites that actually was in SSBM. Like Birdo and the Ice Climbers ^_^ But yeah, the reason why the Sonic series lost was because it didn't get more votes, not because of the picture. Now that we're discuss it, why have CjayC always used Advance sprites? Did he gets bullied in his chlidhood for having a "kiddy" Snes instead of a "mature" Genesis? --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. EC > Me |

The Advance sprites aren't exactly bad, so I wouldn't complain. Bacon
used the Sonic 1 sprite last year, and a lot of people complained about

Of course. Still though, none of MGS4's opponents particularly hurt it
here or in the last poll...and you can't help but think its playership

I don't know what's more surprising, SB running the same poll again two
weeks later (yes there's minor differences, but when the top three
options are the same it's still the same poll really), or how he's
being entirely justified by these results looking so different, at
least to this point. Here's a straight comparison on how the numbers
for the big three have moved in the past two weeks, though keep in mind
I'm pulling these numbers only 4.5 hours into the current poll. GTA4 - from 22.2 to 24.66, +2.46% MGS4 - from 17.17 to 28.88 +11.71% Brawl - from 33.5 to 35.49 +1.99 Alright... I realize this is Metal Gears strongest time right now, but even then, if we don't see an enormous turnaround after the sun rises this is going to be just absurd. MGS4 going from a clear defeat to beating GTA4 with ease? GTA4 gaining more ground than Brawl- despite the removal of MK Wii? In my opinion, the removal of "I haven't played any of those" has led
to franchise votes for people who will vote for a franchise, even if
they haven't played the game, which would explain why MGS4 is doing so

Oh, the kiddy rockets shall be coming. It did last time in full force. Franchise votes are probably bigger in this poll now that "None" is not an option. Still, I wouldn't think it helped any particular series too much more than the others. GTA/MGS/SSB are all big-time, and each game in question is going to be up for many GotY-awards. MGS4 should benefit the most from franchise votes. MGS4 is still quite
new so a lot of MGS fans haven't had a chance to play it yet. If you
are a big enough GTA or SSB fans to bother with franchise voting,

True; that would bring it closer to GTA4 and SSBB here. I still
attribute more of MGS4's spike in general to being out for more than

Eh, one more update since I'm still in the library. This is 2:00 PM. Brawl 36.72% 23891 The World Ends With You 4.18% 2718 TOTAL VOTES 65066 It's worth noting that SSBB now has a larger percentage lead on GTA4 before the day-vote comes than SSBB did on GTA4 at the end of the last poll...and SSBB shot off with that. Yeah, I guess it does make the most sense for MGS4 to have the biggest
gain in franchise voting. You only needed a PSX/PS2 to play any of the
first three, and even then they were ported to the GC/Xbox eventually,
so I'm sure there's still a sizable fanbase that assumes they'd enjoy

Final stats: GTA4 - from 22.2 to 25.25, up 3.05% MGS4 - from 17.17 to 26.78, up 9.61% Brawl - from 33.5 to 36.87, up 3.37% Still a little odd to see MGS take a leap so much larger than the other two and to have leapfrogged GTA so quickly, but maybe that's mostly the franchise vote as we thought. I'm looking forward to seeing if CT can get back into the top 50 FAQs
with this announcement - Diablo 2: LOD has been in the top 10 all week
thanks to the D3 announcement, and regular old Diablo 2 is currently

MM9 isn't going to do anything special, unless it turns out to be some
remarkable game that blows MM2 and MM3 away. MMX8 did nothing for the

| Honestly, the announcement could give Crono just enough to put him at his 2k6 form. If that happens, Crono is in good shape against Vincent. |

| Whoa, awesome. A month ago it looked like the
bottom of the NN was in a dull deadlock for the first time ever- Sonic
had Brawl and some new games on the way, and Sonic > Mega Man >
Crono seemed like a certainty. Then MM fires off MM9 out of nowhere,
but Crono responds with the remake he'd been needing for the last 5
years! Suddenly that whole area under Snake and Samus is a mess once

Well, I'm still taking Sonic > Crono > Mega Man until further
notice. Vincent better hope he gets his one-on-one match with Mega Man
