And looks like I was also wrong about Rock Band not being a stumbling block for GHIII... alright, you got me there tranny! Adding GH3 and RB together still results in a loss to CoD4. Interestingly, RB has gone up 2% since the first update, but GH3 has stayed pretty steady. Bioshock's gone down. --- All you love is a lie. |

CoD4 with 31% "not surprising"? Er... sure could have used you
voicing that opinion yesterday, when Janus was predicting it with 10%
and yo was calling this poll an easy win for BioShock! I thought that any of the games (CoD4, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Guitar Hero III) had great chances to win the poll. I could have sworn I already posted about CoD4 earlier, but maybe that was just in comparing it to Halo's popularity. But yeah, I'm not saying the exact percentage isn't surprising, but CoD4 itself winning the poll isn't surprising to me. It is one of the most popular games among 360 gamers right now as far as gametime goes. 'casual' games that would flop here -- well, flop in comparison to the
rest of the world/internet. I really don't know much about it at all,

When CoD2 didn't do so hot outside of the 360-poll in 2005 and CoD3
flopped in the multi-poll last year, I didn't think CoD4 was going to
do this. Very nice, and I can't wait to see how it competes with Halo 3
in the multi-poll. For shame about AC, SB!!! Glad to see Puzzle Quest in there though..... --- I have a beerpong table designed like a NES controller in my apartment. House rules: hit Start for a piss-break, hit Select for a re-rack. |

Yeah. Given what we've seen of Call of Duty here before this is pretty
surprising. Anywhere else this is the norm -- and would be expected --

Probably should taken into account that it sold 2 million in its first month on the market just in the US And of course CoD3 flopped. Thats Treyarch ****, not the good stuff --- 499 Ozzie's in a pickle! |

Given how it was 2005 and the Xbox 360 user base was... what at the time? http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2303 Now compare it to CoD4. | Well, music games and shooters aren't typically
the type of fare that GameFAQs goes for, and that accounts for (the
top) 6 games in this poll. I'd wait and see how Call of Duty 4 does

Wow, I didn't expect this at all. Mario's got the easy win in the next
few days. I'm also very surprised to see a couple of those games in

Yeah, CoD4 doing well here is all good and surprising and all, but
considering the competition it has yet to prove itself. I never agreed
with the GH anointing comparisons, some of which were getting a bit
absurd, and the rest come off to me as a field of midcarders. Throw in
Assassin's Creed not even being in this poll (and it not having an
impact? it could conceivably win with this competition - mixed reviews
or not, FAQs at least show continued interest for the game), and I'm
not even giving a second's thought to taking GoW2 or something up there
over it (sorry HM!). --- Listen to my story. This may be our last chance. |

true to a point, but Halo 3 didn't have proven competition either, and
nor does Galaxy (unless you count RE4, which you shouldn't). this looks
pretty impressive to my eyes. http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2622 GH2 did pretty well there against some nice competition. COD4's up against some pretty solid competition right now. It's not
Final Fantasy, Mario or Zelda here, but it's good enough. GOW2 would be
the safe way to go, but I don't think we've seen GOW competing against

People are surprised CoD4, the game that has been getting a ****load of
"GotY" support on various websites and by a ton of gamers, is winning?

That said, I'm not trying to cast any doubt on God of War's strength,
because it's certainly going to do well whenever we see it, and I see
reason to be suspect of COD4 all things considered. But Kratos in the
character contest aside, we haven't exactly seen God of War rocking

I saw God of War 2 crush a weak PS2 field, which is the only chance it's gotten. hmm, I think later today I'll predict the seven (?) winners' percentages in the final poll. What. There's no reason to believe Phantom Hourglass is going to be hanging with Halo. You guys that are down on Halo are for all the wrong reasons -- people are not disappointed with the game to such a degree that something like that would happen. I don't see any reason for it to not take second place tomorrow; that hardcore base still supports Halo in these polls, and it's widely regarded as an amazing game. --- "Wake me when you need me." -- 117 |

eh, I agree with CoD4 winning this not really being that surprising.
Sure CoD has never really been anything worth mentioning here, but CoD4
is so much bigger than any CoD before it, it's absurd. It was always
just one of the choices of countless FPS' out there, and it's theme
wasn't exactly stunning and fresh. CoD4 has become the FPS to have if you're a fan of the genre right now. --- mmm feel the vibration baby |

Yeah, and I'm not even saying all that as a big fan of it (campaign is
decent, only played multiplayer once so far). I'm just stating what I
see around me when playing the Xbox. I agree with Call of Duty before
being overlooked. I never paid much attention to it and threw it in the
same boat as the Ghost Recons, Medal of Honors, and Rainbow Sixes. But
for some reason, CoD4 has really stood out on the 360, and not just to fans of the genre. --- Proud Supporter of Zero |

Eh, everyone remembers Marcus as an ASV beast because of that first match, but come now, his only competition was Kefka. though. MC-lite is fairly accurate - he's not MC, but he IS good in the

Marcus did pretty well with the day. I mean put him in a poll with
Cloud who rises like a beast all day long and on a weekend no less, and
he still manages to improve his percentage. Someone like Cloud would
usually suck % from nearly everyone --- This story is not an end yet. Because only you are in the infinity loop. |

Yeah, he did make up some nice ground on the third and fourth place
finishers there, but I'm still going to point out that Ocelot and Kefka
are two out of only a handful of characters capable of losing the Day

| Well now, this is interesting- just when we got on
SB's back for sticking too rigidly to tradition, he goes and mixes
things up. Is he just doing this to emphasize the final GotY with some
more buildup, OR has he perhaps gotten wind of our mini-tourney idea?
Hm... Anyways, I know the 360 had an excellent year, but never expected it to give the Wii a run here on GameFAQs! Tough to say what's going to happen from here out... is this just the Nintendo Power Hour keeping the Wii in contention right now? Or is the 360 only hanging in there because it's late, and the Nintendo morning vote will knock it out of contention? Even if so, wouldn't you expect MS to come roaring back with a Haloish ASV? I think the Wii wins the day. but who knows? it's Nintendo vs. the Halo
system in the daytime, but I think the Nintendo faithful will come
through here. the xbox 360 is objectively the better system, with tons
more releases this year than the Wii. I don't think it's just a Halo
