Prime 3 would overwhelm Mass Effect. ME's doing great right now, sure,
however I have to wonder how much of that is because it's become the
only legit the "not Halo" vote today (whereas that would have been
split 50/50 with Bioshock in here like we thought). After seeing this and comparing it to yesterday, Galaxy is of course looking better than ever for final GotY. BUT THEN, there's soo many strong games this year that as was just mentioned, we may need to find room for four in the Final GotY. Put them into the 4-way environment where we've seen MC thrive and Nintendo underperform, and make one of those 4 games a Zelda title, and all of a sudden Galaxy/Halo becomes interesting again. For tomorrow I'm sticking with my guns and still backing Guitar Hero III for the win. BS throws a major wrench in the plans and becomes my easy pick for second, but I just think that between 360-SFF from AC and FPS-SFF from CoD and Orange Box, GH3 becomes the one title that stands out from the crowd + draws the much-needed Wii support, and that will be barely enough to squeak out a victory. --- Hot Content A'hoy: thengamer.com/xstats | board8.wikia.com PARENTAL ADVISORY - This signature contains Explicit Content. |

the only argument you can make for Halo 3 taking SMG at this point is
that the Halo voters are close to static... and as we saw last year,
they're not. they're a loyal bunch, but they're not going to come out
with 40% when SMG and whatever else (GH3? Bioshock?) are in the poll
with it. I don't think Mass Effect would take God of War 2,

Maybe I've been too detached from the GameFAQs userbase and am thinking more widespread, but I don't know why Mass Effect wouldn't, at the very least, give Metroid Prime 3 a good run for its money one-on-one. The only
reason -- albeit a big one at GameFAQs -- is that Metroid is Nintendo.
By all means, Mass Effect should be the more popular of the two. And if
it's not here, or at least close, I'd be shocked. But maybe I'm not thinking in GameFAQs terms or something. I dunno. It's not like Prime 3 is even in the running for most popular Metroid game or anything. --- "Wake me when you need me." -- 117 |

Well, MP1 beats KotOR without any trouble here, and I have a tough time
believing Mass Effect > KotOR yet when it's not even on the PC and
KotOR sold more. MP3 doesn't have to be the strongest Metroid to beat

Mac, are you thinking of GTA:VC in the Game Contest, or making an
unrelated analogy? Not that I disagree on the sentiment of your
post..... We also should keep in mind, of course, that SMG SFF'd probably everything yesterday...dunno how much, but certainly some. I think a MP3:C/ME match would be fun, though there's no way I'm not picking MP3:C. --- I have a beerpong table designed like a NES controller in my apartment. MP3 isn't MP1 -- it isn't going to that
strong. It'd be different if we were talking about MP1 going up against
Mass Effect, but that's not the case. Prime should be hanging up there
with Super Metroid as the two most popular Metroid games by a pretty
wide margin; not so much with Prime 3. ME has all of the big factors necessary -- it's sold far more; it's gotten more critical acclaim; and it's a much 'bigger' game as far as how widespread it's been. That's not to say it's a guarantee, or even close, as you gotta take into consideration we're on GameFAQs and their Nintendo love is a bit out there compared to everyone else, but I don't MP3 wins that no questions asked. --- "Wake me when you need me." -- 117 |

MC showed being rather static in his last poll where he got about 2%
off Snake... however, that was when MC dropped down to 24%. But, Halo 3
will probably need to be much higher than that to compete with SMG, so
I think it has basically no chance. Oh, and of courseME wouldn't touch
SMG. As for MP8 and M&S Olympics not being in the Wii poll... the answer is simple. CJayC chose only good games. I sure wish PW:T&T was in the DS poll... Wait, is it for sure that we'll see exactly nine games in the first best overall game poll? Zelda;PH Crysis God of War II R&CF FFT SMG Halo 3 ME (multi-platform winner) It would be a shame if only one of the multi-platformers made it, considering how close it will most likely be. I think there's going to be eight games in the overall-GotY poll...and
if it gets bumped up higher, it'll be because the multi-platform poll
is hellacious. I think SB would only add more games if first-to-second
tomorrow is much closer than first-to-second today...which is fully

Call of Duty 4 doing this well isn't surprising. The game has been
almost as popular as Halo 3 on Xbox Live and it's been considered
across the board as the better game among fans. As for Bioshock? I'm
thinking that it being the first big hit after a pretty significant
lull over the summer caused it to garner a lot of attention. Now with a

I'm shocked that Assassin's Creed isn't present. I was actually
thinking that the FPS's would cancel each other out and it would win,
but now I guess we'll never know. And THE ORANGE BOX IS NOT A GAME!! I've really always objected to compilations/remakes/ports* being put in these polls. *When they're released in separate years ala RE4:Wii --- You need to meet someone at a garden, or a movie or something. | As Mac said, CoD3 is considered the worst in the
series. Activision let another developer take the Call of Duty
franchise and make a game because they wanted to keep the cash cow
going. Infinity Ward practically deny its existence. All their efforts
were going into the next "true" Call of Duty game which is now Call of

| CoD4 with 31% "not surprising"? Er... sure could
have used you voicing that opinion yesterday, when Janus was predicting
it with 10% and yo was calling this poll an easy win for BioShock! Personally I'm shocked... CoD4 is apparently the "Resident Evil 4" of its franchise. I mean I knew it was a hit, but never would have expected this, especially not with BioShock in the mix. And looks like I was also wrong about Rock Band not being a stumbling block for GHIII... alright, you got me there tranny! Shame to see AC missed out on the party, but then again, with results like this I don't really see it changing anything...
