http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2247 Argh, can't really relate any comparisons to GoW1 with today's poll. On one hand, GoW2 has more percentage today than GoW1 + DW8...but on the other hand, any game in that poll would be guaranteed to beat any game in today's poll except GoW2. I dunno...just gotta wait awhile longer for a decent read. Looking at the poll a bit closer though (and some other PS2-polls as well), I think we'll continue seeing the Guitar Hero series go up. We saw GH1 land between Tekken 5 and a Smackdown VS RAW game there, which was pitiful, not to mention it got 6.13% in a poll where GoW1 won... http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2622 ...but GH2 bumped up since GH1 later caught on. I still don't think beating a MGS-remake means a lot in these GotY-polls, but it did win over it with 14.09% and took third place in a poll with FF12 and KH2...so that's a big improvement. We've also now seen that the GH-series is at least building a fanbase here, even if it's only a statement of its dominance in the rhythm.music-genre: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2803 I believe that poll was soon after GH2 was ported to the 360. Now, with GH3 having full-steam as a series AND is not only on the PS2 but the PC, PS3, 360, and Wii as well...well, I'm standing by GH3 taking the multiplatform-poll when it comes up. If Rock Band's also in the multiplatform poll, GH3 will probably get
LFFed enough for AC to win. I can't see Orange Box doing well for

Yikes, that's a possibility, yeah...how has Rock Band been selling
though? I suspect it's not been nearly as well and I still get the vibe

Multiplatform will come down to CoD4, GH3, and (if it's on there)
Bioshock. In terms of potential to win, I'll go CoD4 > Bioshock >

Orange Box may do well for its critical acclaim alone (and the fact
that it's an auto-favorite for Half-Life 2 fans), but are we sure Bacon

I'm pretty sure GH3 PS2 murders RB PS2 in sales (which is to be
expected, as one of RB's selling points is DLC), but I'm not sure about
the 360 or PS3. I think GH3 still has the advantage there though. Though if its main competition is AC, Orange Box and CoD4, then GH3 would almost certainly benefit from being the only one on the Wii. oh, there's some. there are a lot of people, GH fans, that think Rock
Band is far superior to GH. they may not be numerous, but they are the

still, looks like GH3 crushed Orange Box. I thought Orange Box didn't get too much hype until people actually played it and discovered Portal was actually a solid game. Will Bioshock be under 360 or Multiplatform? PC version doesn't seem as big, plus C&C3 was listed as a PC game when it's also on the 360. --- Suicidal? Here's the upcoming schedule, for those interested: Tonight: Best PS3 Game Friday Night: Best PSP Game Saturday Night: Best Wii Game Sunday Night: Best 360 Game Monday Night: Best Multiplatform Game Tuesday Night: Game of the Year (9-way) Wednesday Night: Final Game of the Year (3-way) Thursday Night: Console of the Year That is, unless HaR fires those Poll Suggestion Ticket cannons I've told him to arm, and SB gives us the mini-tourney this year deserves. Yeah, I get the feeling BioShock will be counted as 360, which should make for a fairly tight 3-way battle between GH3, CoD4, and AC in that multi... but I still feel that GH will take it without TOO much trouble, and CoD/AC seems too close to call right now. PS3 poll up, and Ratchet & Clank is stomping Uncharted for first
place in the early going, just as I predicted. This is a sad sad day to
be swirldude! Might also be a tight one for third between Ninja Gaiden
and Heavenly Sword, could be worth keeping an eye on. Man, it's a shame that the Wii is gonna win that one. The options there should be 'Xbox 360' five times. More like PC, since it got all the good games on the 360 besides Halo 3 anyway. But then it had Crysis, and games are usually better on the PC (though the GH3 port sucks). Both are pretty even, actually. --- Suicidal? More like PC, since it got all the good games on the 360 besides
Halo 3 anyway. But then it had Crysis, and games are usually better on
the PC (though the GH3 port sucks). There's also Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Rock Band, GH2, VF5, PGR4, etc. The 360 got plenty of great games this year that the PC didn't. --- All you love is a lie. |

Well now, this is really something... I don't know whether to be proud
of GameFAQs for doing such a surprising job of avoiding the franchise
vote, or ashamed of the Final Fantasy brandname for failing to put up
big numbers on the "Dracula X Chronicles" and "Size Matters." Crysis is dominating the poll despite having sold under 100,000
copies. This is basically the crappy culmination for the disaster known

1) Anybody remember MP1 > Animal Crossing > SMS in 2002? Ha..... 2) Halo 3 has one hell of an expectation to beat tomorrow. 3) No M&S-Olympics? No Mario Party 8? Granted, neither would have done fantastic, but better than ****in' Zach and Wiki. 4) WarioWare, what the hell? I want to completely and entirely blame SMG, but this is still terrible. Even given the circumstances, it's tied with NiGHTS right now and is being doubled by Super Paper Mario. Not necessarily third place material, but not where it looked anywhere
like this. Then again, I didn't expect SMG to come flying out of the

this reminds me of TP's "run" last year. SMG looks like a beast here. I
was preaching to Halo's strength in a multi-way poll, but I can't see
it doing to Bioshock what Mario is currently doing to Metroid Prime.

Though SMG isn't going to finish with 66.74%, MP:3 is bigger than any other two games combined RE4 faced in 2005. I also don't know how FE:RD compared to FE:PoR, but it looks like RE4 made FE:PoR look much better than SMG's allowing FE:RD. Last, it's VERY unfair to compare RE4 to its Wii-counterpart...but look at it getting its ass whooped by SMG (and probably beaten by MP3:C, too)! Obviously, nothing exact should be taken from this poll, and really we don't have to look at this poll much deeper than what SMG is doing to every game there. That said, all this would lead me to believe that Halo 3 would have to be on par with Resident Evil 4 or better to compete with SMG -- a very tough feat to do here, especially for a Halo entry! It's going to have to destroy Bioshock and Mass Effect tomorrow to make me feel like it's in the game for the final-GotY. --- I have a beerpong table designed like a NES controller in my apartment. We saw the Sunshine Effect allow Mario to beat Cloud and Crono in 2002,
and GotY-polls had MP1 >>> AC > SMS...and this was during a
time when Nintendo was #2 in both system-ownership and
company-favoritism. NOW, we're seeing SMG >>> MP3:C with
Nintendo being #1 here in ownership and favoritism...and SSBB hasn't
even been released yet. You tell me if Mario's boosting..... =) The above paragraph is completely unfair to say in honesty, but I do think Mario's going to be looking good.
