Link's only hope lies with the loyalty of the kiddies. In the last couple of rounds, L-Block has pulled in enough support to actually start looking like a normal character outside of his beastly first 1-2 hours. If they still have that soft spot for Link, however, he may pull it off.

I'm actually fully expecting Lihnk to still come back and win this... have been for a while now. Obviously it's far from guaranteed, but I still like his chances if L's drop-off is on par with previous matches. Now Cloud coming back to take 2nd... that'd be something, I don't have any faith in it however.

I know it's lousy to say it now, after two consecutive Link stalls...but I think we're calling this just a little too early. I mean, it's ****ing Link, and he's only 4000 behind. If Marcus Fenix can turn a 1000 vote deficit into a 5000 vote lead, Link can pull even with a Tetrad.

(...aw man, this is the last time I'll be able to pull out the Fenix/Kefka card. How sad....)

Yeah, I mean, this is *Link*...who's always come through despite tons of doubters, except for once.

If L-Block really does go 36% or so in the night rather than 40%, Link has a real shot.

Link and Cloud should do more to ravage L's remaining vote than anyone else thus far. These guys look like crap now, but that was pretty expected. They're still a far, far cry from the likes of Solid Snake and Master Chief.

Yeah, that's why I thought L was actually in trouble when he started out just a couple points slower, because we all knew his fall would be more.

Link+Cloud is indeed much better with the day, despite Chief's presence. Chief is more day-oriented than Cloud, but with Cloud's horrific board vote, he would actually rise more than Chief, and probably finish with at least as much percentage. And of course Link has a much better day vote than Snake, and should finish higher than Snake did last match too. And Snake/Dante as similar percentages is basically a wash.

But if L-Block keeps getting close to 40% every hour overnight, it will be hard to see a comeback.

Yeah, especially considering that it doesn't look like Link will even begin things for another 7 hours or so. By then it could just be too much even for Link. I'm thinking like 7,000.

Yeah, I don't think Link fans should concede defeat quite yet...objectively his chances are in deep deep trouble, but they're not trivial, IMO.

A big problem for Link is that Cloud will slaughter the overnight vote (relatively speaking). So Link might be able to truly staLL.

but the stuffing for L could be insane at the beginning of these polls, and nobody would be the wiser.

The trends haven't supported that yet, though. Block fell off way too slowly during its second match with Snake for there to be stuffing, and in the third match it barely even lost updates. The stuffers would have to be working round the clock for that to happen.

If they cared enough to do that, we'd be seeing Mudkip here.

From the last match, L-Block got just over 36% of the vote from the 2-3 hour.

If he gets that here, and Link gets 26+% (which Link should I think), then someone can say "Link is still in this" without being committed...
