I wouldn't say that people are bored with the contest... I'd say that
they're just amused that L-Block has a shot to win this, so they go
ahead and vote for it. And I think we can all agree that L-Block doesn't have a chance of doing nearly this good 1v1. It'd be lucky to get to to round 3. --- Not changing this sig until Cena, Batista, & Lashley lose their titles. Started: 1/24/07 |

On a side note, L-Block's success makes all of the Noble Nine arguing
earlier on pointless now, as no way he'd beat any of the NN in a
1-on-1. Format lives, and you can all thank your savior, L-Block! --- You know, if Microsoft were to stage a hostile takeover of EA...I'd actually cheer them on. |

I think Snake is alright. He's up over 500 now, and he should still be
able to manage his impressive night vote swing. He won't do anything

The contest doesn't need to go. It needs the format from last year brought back where the former champions are removed. It keeps the contest fresh by guaranteeing a new champion every year. Also games contest is needed with Final Fantasy 8 allowed this time. KB |

I think that Link's dominance with the board vote is overrated. He's
only able to do it against strong competitors when he's getting bracket
votes. He lost it to CATS, Ganondorf, and Yoshi in 2004, broke even
with Crono with it, and beat both Mega Man and Yoshi in it. He lost it
in every Battle Royale except the last one and the third one, and his
last match is the only board vote he's won this year (albeit the one
for the match before was pretty weird) --- "Look out-- It's Liquids and Gases!" |

The site that doesn't exist is trying to get everyone there to vote for L-block as well. I'd say L-block hasn't shown a lack of interest in the contest. Quite the opposite actually, I've never seen so many boards out of board 8 interested in it before. Most people were bored of them because the same characters always won. --- sig |

Hey now, who was it that initially sparked that debate over who would

Hochi is your Guru Champion. Like I said in that unintentional 500 post a couple topics ago, EC wins with an L-Block>Link result. Hochi would get half points (64), EC would get 1/4 points (32). EC is up 49 points on Hochi currently, and would win by 17. |

| I think Bacon is going to get a lot of positive
feedbag after this contest. I really would hate for angry Cloud/Link
fans or people who don't appreciate the joke to send the guy angry
feedback; he's worked hard and done a great job, especially considering

Now if only Megaman, Crono, and Sonic were the only NNs left... Seriously though, a games contest would be best. That should give enough time to have newer characters enter the fray next time (even though we know they won't win). If L-block places in the finals, no matter if he gets first or second or who the other guy is, Hochi won't be able to make up 49 points. Now if only Megaman, Crono, and Sonic were the only NNs left... ...then either Sonic or Mega Man would win the contest. And no one would be shocked. That's the problem with the whole "remove the champions" shtick. The next champion is just as obvious as the removed champion. Only by removing all of the Noble Nine does the winner even begin to come into question, and even then it's probably Vincent. Take him out too and you're still looking at a pool of <5 people. Even I know this. |
