Well actually a part of me would be highly entertained by L-Blocking placing, but I still hope it doesn't happen.

Something is fishy about tomorrow's match. You have to think that more Link voters will joke vote away to L-Block than Cloud voters. This could give Cloud a huge chance, but if L-Block takes a brunt of those votes then L-Block could take this thing. I doubt there's a large enough percentage of people voting L-Block today and someone else tomorrow to make a factor. I'm not sure who Snake could take away from tomorrow, he seems out on his own.

Well, he started at SEVENTY FREAKING PERCENT!!! and is starting to stabilize at his normal late night 30ish range...so the drop off should be big.

It'd be too much.

Also is L dropping off quicker than last round?

Well he had to, considering how insane his board vote was. You knew the rest of the day would be more similar to last round. That's why I asked earlier about 35%. 35% finish would still be pretty dominating.

Not a huge Link fan either, but L > Link would be terrible just for its effect on brackets.

Those fictional character divisions are so stacked it's insane.

You do have some fodder in there that I don't think would amount to much, especially the animated TV characters. But the number of downright super-power characters increases a lot with fictional characters.

L > Link would create some hilarity with brackets. I'm not sure it'd do much in the outlook now though, maybe one Cloud fan who had Cloud/Link will sneak up there. That's about it.

With regard to the fictional character bracket: http://www.economist.com/displaystory.cfm?story_id=10052955

Damn...I'd never realized how popular Spidey was. Twice as popular as every other superhero combined?! I know, it's just for costumes...but that's still ridiculous.

And Yo, you don't have very much of the Top 32 VG characters in that bracket. Why is that?

Picard with like 5% of the vote : /

honestly the video game characters would steamroll the competition.

That's why I didn't include too many in there. The Noble obviously deserve it, but there's always a chance that the non-VG characters could bomb, so I set it up so that many of the Noble Niners would cannibalize each other, with exception of some matches we need to see (Vader/Seph, Batman/Snake). Other than that, I just felt that we'd seen all the gaming characters so many times before, so I didn't want to give them too much representation.

The Death Star
(1)Darth Vader vs. (16)Space Ghost - Darth Vader, no question
(8)The Hulk vs. (9)John Rambo - Hulk, he's got movies AND comics
(5)Bugs Bunny vs. (12)Peter Griffin - Bugs, he's got classic staying power
(4)Mickey Mouse vs. (13)Pikachu - Mickey....Kingdom Hearts 2 SPF
(6)Harry Potter vs. (11)Count Dracula - Dracula is universal, but Potter takes it from him :/
(3)Sephiroth vs. (14)Rogue - Sephy....he's still really strong
(7)Indiana Jones vs. (10)Hercules - Hercules here. Greek mythology is probably pretty strong
(2)Wolverine vs. (15)Buffy the Vampire Slayer - Wolverine, easy

Hyrule
(1)Link vs. (16)Ariel - Link. Nuff said.
(8)Stewie Griffin vs. (9)C. Montgomery Burns - Burns wins, but probably barely

(3)Superman vs. (14)Sherlock Holmes - Superman, comics win again
(7)Samus Aran vs. (10)Crono - Samus pretty safely
(2)Cloud Strife vs. (15)Captain Jean-Luc Picard - Cloud, but Picard is my favorite :(

New York, New York
(1)Spider-Man vs. (16)The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air - Fresh Prince. He'd be the next L-block
(8)Rocky Balboa vs. (9)Captain Jack Sparrow - Sparrow, he's got the ladies vote
(5)Bart Simpson vs. (12)Wonder Woman - Simpson. Does anyone actually like Wonder Woman?
(4)Han Solo vs. (13)Hannibal Lecter - Solo wins, people would antivote Lecter, I think
(6)Eric Cartman vs. (11)Gambit - Cartman, South Park is probably pretty popular here
(3)Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. (14)Bender Rodriguez - ......Kenobi takes it
(7)Goku vs. (10)Magneto - Goku, wait til the next episode wakes up
(2)Homer Simpson vs. (15)Phillip J. Fry - Homer, he's universal

Gotham City
(1)Batman vs. (16)Tanner - Batman so hard it's not funny
(8)Walker, Texas Ranger vs. (9)Jack Bauer - Good match, but the Norris fad is too popular
(5)Captain America vs. (12)Aragorn - I'll take Aragorn for the upset, those movies are big

(6)Mega Man vs. (11)Storm - Mega Man, much more iconic
(3)Mario vs. (14)Catwoman - Mario, Catwoman sucks
(7)Gandalf vs. (10)The Joker - Gandalf's pretty popular, he takes it
