Vote stuffing? Where is this talk coming from?

Vote totals show stuffing, this match isn't very irregular at in. The past matches where we saw early vote stuffing it was just obvious as all hell.

I'm not sure I buy that. He's gotten 26% during the day the last two matches despite having pretty strong day vote characters in each - this is actually a step down in that regard if you ask me.

This is true, plus the picture should be big for him during the day. However his competition is still much tougher, in terms of raw strength.

I agree with the latter part of your post, red sox. I'd take Crono over Vincent right now. However, and I think HaRRicH touched on this a while ago, I'm not sure if I'd do so after another year of obscurity for Crono.

Yeah, 'twas me. Without an official CT port to either the VC or DS (or a new Chrono game), I think Crono will be legitimately beatable by Vincent on like a regular basis next year (though still close).

but what's strange about it is that Crono looked BETTER than sonic in this contest.he lost to vincent sure, but as i said everything was against him in that match.while Sonic barely beat a weakened Squall.

let's put things into perspective

Crono lost to vincent by 1700 votes.Link and Zero were probably LFFing crono considerably more than vincent.(mainly Link)

Sonic beat Squall by like 2000 votes, while squall was being LFF'd by Sora.

Vincent should be a bit stronger than Squall as well,

take all that and suddenly Crono looks much better than Sonic.i believe this format hurt sonic characters though,as Knuckles,Shadow and even Tails, who was already almost fodder, all dissapointed.

joke vamp = snake

right?

Na, there are far more people in their late teens and early twenties here than preteens.

We definitely outnumber them by a ridiculously huge extent on this board (and most older social boards on the site for that matter), but as visiters to the site on a whole? ...I'd be a bit surprised, although I guess it's more likely then I'd initially think.

This.

That's exactly why L-Block is doing so well. You don't need to be "in" on the joke to get it. You just do.

It's a god damn Tetris piece.

I don't agree with this Crono thing. Of course the N9 isn't officially broken in this format, but I think Vincent would have beaten Crono 1v1 this year.

Link, Zero, Vincent and Crono all kind of share fanbases in a way. Mainly that Vincent and Link are in the two most popular games/series on this site, which alone causes huge overlap. Link's a lot more... "casual" than Crono; him and Vincent are the only ones with anything recent (that's popular, sorry Zero).

Then there's the fact that more of Zero's games come from the Playstation than the SNES. I don't think this makes much difference with regard to hurting Vincent, but I don't think he's hurting Crono significantly more.

Also, it's pretty easy to see why non-Board 8er's would be loving this. Firstly, unless I'm missing something, L-Block is a universal joke, unlike Bidoof and Mudkip. It's a Tetris block. Either you appreciate it or you don't, and tons of people seem to appreciate it.

Also, if you recall most pre-contest polls over the past few years, the majority of poll voters hardly give a crap about these contests. The "I didn't submit a bracket" or "What contest?" poll options have grown increasingly popular, possibly because regular voters (and regular board users) are tired of the same old same old, and L-Block certainly helps alleviate that.

Exactly as everyone else has said, it's pretty simple. L-block has something no other joke character ever has; universal recognisability. The amount of gamers that have never played tetris before can probably be counted on one hand (I'm obviously exaggerating here, but you get the point).

First 22 update comparison...

Last Snake/L match:
http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/images/poll_graph.php?matchnum=2917&type=2&seconds=60&max=22

Today:
http://www.gamefaqscontests.com/images/poll_graph.php?matchnum=2922&type=2&seconds=60&max=0

Much slower comeback for Snake, but again, I think that is because of stronger competition early on helping L due to higher early voter loyalty. i.e., everyone else LFFs each other, and the stronger they are the more they do so. L block does not suffer LFF.

Well, it looks like L's advancing to the next round, no question. I wonder how he'll fare when he has to take a step down in competition, since Chief and Dante are by no means any Sonic or Squall.

For the few who think Sonic still has a chance: If L drops 10% by the time the match is over, and that's quite a bit to drop, that'd still put him at 26% of the vote give or take. That means Sonic would have to take in over 60% of the makeup votes to even tie him. Considering Squall's giving him a run for his money and Snake's clearly got him beat, that ain't happening.
