Is their competition really so different that MC should be
discounted? If you take away pre-contest ideas of their strengths, then
really, there's absolutely no reason to count MC out. Bout time someone backs me up on this. I'm really the only one that should be worried here. Master Chief is very much in the running against Sonic and Snake if you ask me. Now Cloud... When the user-made pictures for this next match are revealed, Tetris fanboyism will run rampant around these parts! I think that if L-Block does take 2nd, he might take it easily. Also I think L-Block leads this match for 6+ hours. There's a chance he won't lead it for long if Snake decides to open up a can of whoop ass on everybody, but while Snake will be much stronger than last round, L-Block's increase should be even greater than Snake's. Master Chief with a fair performance today, albeit nothing outstanding. Dante closer to him than most would have thought. So Chief is not the powerhouse he was looking to be early, but still very respectable. And looks either Dante/Leon LFF and/or pic factor was just huge for Pikachu last round. Course we all figured that already, with how Pikachu turned around on Leon, but this confirms it further. What a fluke that match was. Also I'm going to keep telling myself that the difference between Dante and Luigi is great enough today that Pikachu isn't costing Luigi the match. Yes, I think I'm going to stick with that. I wonder if Sephiroth will pull a Mario and hold up surprisingly well against Cloud than in the BR. I doubt it though - unlike Twilight Princess/Galaxy, there's no reason for SFF extent change here. However, Sephiroth wasn't SFFed nearly as bad as Mario to begin with, so he probably won't embarrass himself tomorrow. I am thinking Samus finishes ahead of Sephiroth though. MC ends with 33-34% Believe The reason we are picking MC over Sonic is because MC is not SFF or LFF in anyway next round, at least none we know of. I was beginning to think badasses with guns LFF him but then the ASV came. Dante/Sonic/Snake could LFF each other in ways we don't know about. Hell, we have seen Pikachu destroy people he should get squashed by and then disappoint. We have seen L-Block place second everytime. Master Chief is the one with the least amount of unknowns. Until the Xbox 360 gets a few more pricedrops and a significantly
increased GameFAQs userbase, this is probably the strongest we'll ever

Chief's main shot for 2nd is that Sonic advances and sucks it up. If Squall advances, Chief would have to be the underdog there, because it would mean Squall's been LFFed this whole contest. If L-Block advances (more likely than Squall advancing), Chief is probably done. If the block can beat out Sonic and Squall he shouldn't have much trouble with Chief. ...well actually, if L-Block wins due to the loyalty idea, I guess maybe Chief can advance. I just realized that Snake's fourpack next round is actually weaker than this round! So 2nd place next round will need more percentage than 2nd place this round. For a normal character that wouldn't be an issue, but if you do assume L-Block's fanbase is loyal, then it might be a problem for him. ROUND 3 WINNERS AND LOSERS Winners STAR OF THE ROUND: L-Block - It was hard to decide who was this round's star, as several characters put up a good performance, but L-Block not only got 40,000 votes in a match with Solid Snake, he stabbed nearly every bracket in existence by doing so. The tetromino has gone from joke character to a fighter worth your respect, lest you be boxed in and cleared by L-Block's comrades. Cloud Strife - Woah there Cloud! With Auron LFFing you, Ryu posing all manly, and Marcus Fenix's 360 groupies, you still picked up nearly half of the vote! You are truly a contest power! Perhaps we should ban this guy from the main bracket. <_< Link - Link did not want Cloud stealing the spotlight, so he went and got 45% of the vote against three tough foes in Vincent, Crono, and Zero. Some say that Cloud performed better in this round, but I cannot agree. Vincent Valentine - Vincent did not realize he did not have Noble Nine credentials, and shot up Crono anyway. He caused quite a stir by doing so, and the off-season discussion about the legitimacy of the Noble Nine should be heated. Master Chief - The Chief turned in his third straight dominating performance in this contest, scoring a solid 35% while Luigi and Bacondorf fought tooth and nail to advance. I'm sure Yuna's glad that the torture of being corpse humped for three rounds is finally over. Luigi - Good job in beating the Guru favorite, Ganondorf, though I'd argue you got a huuuuuge pic assist. Or was it a bagel? Pikachu - No character's success has caused the board to go into group anger and depression quite like Pikachu, who took 1/3 of the vote and rode Capcom LFF into a 1st place finish. Way to go! Squall Leonhart - Even with Sora in the match, Squall spent much of this match threatening Sonic for 1st place. Though he felt short, he came close, and with Sora not cutting at Squall's legs with his silly keyblade, who knows how the next match will go? Phoenix Wright, Miles Edgeworth - With Trials and Tribulations finally out in America, your trilogy comes to a thrilling end, and that can only help you should you return to the contest next year! (And if it doesn't...well, the game rocked, all right?) Losers Big Boss - No character has experienced the kind of pic swing that Big Boss did, and his results followed suit, as he put up a piss poor performance. Sure Sephiroth and Mario are strong, but this was a bit sad. Anyone else think Magus may have done better? Crono - His loss to Vincent wasn't surprising, but it was significant in that depending on your view, his loss broke the 100+ match win streak of the Noble Nine vs non-NNers. You never want to be the guy who messes up perfection, and Crono, you're the guy! Zero - Someone thought this guy was going to be a Vincent/Crono killer. One acronym: lol. Way to come off your good performance on Crono by getting bashed into the ground in the opening seconds. Ganondorf - Did you know that humans and pigs have sex for fun? It explains why Ganon loves to turn into his beastly form. Screw the contest he has pig sex! Leon Kennedy - The painful victim of Capcom SFF. That bad RE2 pic didn't help, but Dante looked like Vash the Stampede, so that's no excuse. Capcom fans have spoken loud and clear; Leon es dum. swirldude - Never mind that I was eliminated in Round 2, my gutsy call of MC > Ganon couldn't even come through because I forgot Round 3 = Bacondorf. DOH! Everyone that hates Pikachu - It was a sucky round. Pika finishing 1st ahead of Tidus wasn't bad because no one liked him either. Pikachu advancing over Vivi was tough. THIS, however, this just takes a stab at any DMC and RE4 fan...and really anyone at all! Feel the wounds! They will not heal! |

Eh. Pikachu should be the star of the round, as much as I hate to admit (okay, I hate to admit L-Block more...!!) it. But really, L-Block only did slightly better than expected, and it was against Solid ****. Match LX: Solid Snake vs L-Block vs Sonic vs Squall Past Matches Round 3 Solid Snake - 32.44% L-Block - 28.63% Kratos - 20.91% Riku - 18.02% Sonic the Hedgehog - 32.31% Squall Leonhart - 30.81% Sora - 20.01% Sub-Zero - 16.87% Analysis Last round L-Block was able to get almost the exact percent as he did last round despite the competition and he got dangerously close to Solid Snake. Sonic didn’t look too hot last match either letting Squall get really close to him despite having Sora in the poll. In this match anything could happen. Solid Snake statistically is the strongest of the four, but stats won’t be playing a roll in this match. Last round the four characters totaled up to 124.19% and in the end it’ll become which character is willing to give up those percentage points and the ones that do give up a lot of percent will be the ones that’ll lose. Snake is the favorite finishing in the top two, but that’s because he defeated both Sonic and Squall last year. Sonic is the one in most danger since he is weaker than Snake and if L-Block repeats his performance from previous rounds Sonic will be the one packing his bags. His performance last round wasn’t the most impressive we’ve seen him do and if he gets below 4% of what he did last round it’ll be lights out for the hedgehog. The only way I can see Squall making it out of this round alive is if L-Block somehow dies and he was hurt by Sora enough to get over Sonic. There have been some hype about Squall underperforming because of Snake, but after seeing their match last year I find it believe that there is some kind of overlap. L-Block is the biggest factor in this match. Despite his opponents becoming stronger and stronger every round it still manages to get near the same percent. However with two Noble Nines and a near-elite I’d be surprised if L-Block manages to get 28% again though I would be surprised if the L-Block falls below 25%, his fanbase is just that hardcore. In my opinion for the L-Block to fail coming in the top 2 one character has to do badly, which would probably be Squall. Like I’ve said base on their last round performances 24.19% needs to be lost and the L-Block won’t lose any more than 3% if that. I’ve never considered the L-Block a character and I still don’t, but I can’t deny that it does have a pretty hardcore fanbase. The chances of L-Block advancing are very real. Snake will definitely
get first, but second is a three-way race. Sonic is the slight
favorite, but I think L-Block has a better chance of taking second than

If MC has remained constant since Round 2, Alucard is pathetic beyond

Tetris being released before Sonic doesn't make Sonic any less classic.
