Vincent also was excellent in these hours on Crono. I predict that
Squall will keep going to cut Sonic's lead in a few hours, then Sonic

I don't think this indicates Squall > Sonic. There's definitely
overlap between Squall and Sora, but as we saw in round 2, it's not
that much. Absolute, total, UTTER bullcrap. What the hell, Sonic... I'd have to call L-Block the favorite to edge him out in next round's match, if not to place first overall, and Squall has a terrific shot as well. --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

| XD Squall. Amazing. Best match from this contest
yet, IMO. Aside maybe from Vincent > Crono. Seriously, this is great
stuff. Too bad he doesn't really have a chance of winning, when the
morning's hitting soon. Btw, I don't really see how you can argue against Squall being the favourite against Sonic 1 on 1 when freaking Sora's in the poll, managing nearly 19% (probably finishing above that ). This also makes next round all the more awesome. The Snake-Sonic-Squall-L-block 4-pack can pretty much go any way. Of course, Snake and Sonic should be the favourites, but it will be interesting to see how L-block and Squall are going to hold up. Squall is going to bring Snake down a lot, I'd say. But then again, Sonic looks like a weaksauce today, so can he really take first? Can L-block manage his standard 28%? Then there's MC-Luigi-Dante-Pikachu, which can go any way as well (with MC and Dante being the favourites). Great contest this is. Go Squall! --- 268/368. Snake SFFs Squall. He showed that last year and heck with Sora the
previous year. Playstation SFF or whatever you want to call it. Squall's going from a dominant handicap to a recessive one. Snake won't have the **** factor to kill him either. There won't be messing around next round, I could see Sonic and Snake taking it easily. --- I didn't think that a N9, even if he's Crono, would lose to Vincent....And I'm not a furry, damnit! |

I was behind Snake SFFing Squall before... y'know, before we saw what Snake had become. I was behind Snake SFFing Squall before... y'know, before we saw what Snake had become. As it stands... That match does inspire doubt. Then again, I have to conclude Squall just held up amazingly to Snake. Doesn't mean there couldn't have been SFF. And it may not show 1 on 1, but when there's 2 more characters added to the poll, a perfect SFF split pretty much halves your strength. Of course, this is exaggerated and Snake will not have his strength halved, but still. I'm certain Squall will bring him down. --- 268/368. REAL wildcard there is L-Block... The stronger Squall is, the stronger the potential SFFsplit is. But then again, like you said, if he can nearly beat Sonic with Sora up his ass, Snake may finish a comfortable first. I think a lot depends on L-block, and what percentage he'll get. Because he'll hurt Sonic more than the other characters, I'd think. If it's not too much, I definitely entertain Sonic > Snake as a possibility. Then again, can we really discount Squall? | How about this? Sonic sucks as much we have been
lead to believe next round, and Squall and Snake hurt each other a lot.
The end result is of course, the one character left in the bracket that
hasn't taken the first place yet takes it. --- Donkey Kong Country 2 for next Games contest. This line waiting for Guru results, because not enough people have played the Mario RPGs. |

I really doubt that theL-Block gets in the semi finals. A character who couldn't win with a bigger lead than 4703 votes with a Kirby who had to share the Nintendo vote with Donkey Kong shouldn't be a threat to Squall in any format, and absolutely not Solid Snake (Since we know he won't get his 8-bit sprite in the next match) or Sonic the Hedgehog. --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. | I'm never keen on discounting Squall (I'm still
one of the proponents he can give Vincent a darn good fight in a
rematch, if not win), but I can't see him on the level of Snake, not
when Snake has grown so much from what he used to be and the power he
commands in this format. Squall v Solid **** would be a darn good test.
This is an AMAZING performance from Squall, but with all the credit we
give him there's no taking away this display of vulnerability from
Sonic. To think that he's post-Brawl and could have still dropped this
if Sora wasn't there... --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

| I honestly don't think Sonic is doing to bad, I
mena he's still doing better than what Solid Snake did yesterday (yeah
I know Solid **** but that doesn't change my statement) and Sub-Zero
would give Kratos a good run for his money, but I'm confident that
Squall and Sora would any of the characters in division 7 except Snake.

Congrats, Squall. You fought admirably in staying within a percent of
Sonic, and pushed hard at cutting the lead, all with Sora bringing you

the last thing I expected when clicking on this topic was a random Romero post okay, Squall. yeah, Sora's holding him down.. but how much? I mean, if you think there's serious overlap, either Sonic is freaking pathetic or Squall is an absolute beast. I've argued Squall > Vincent before, but I can't say that even Vincent would be able to manage this performance. this is up there with Pikachu's performance in my eyes, assuming Sonic doesn't run away and hide with the day vote. now, next round. Squall overlaps with Snake more than with Sonic, that's for sure. that's not to say that there's "SFF" in Snake/Squall, just that him being in the poll may hurt Snake a touch. I can't see Squall placing in that match, though he could get third over Sonic and I wouldn't blink an eye. that match has 25/25/25/25 potential, which is just amazing. Squall > Snake is the only result that I feel is impossible. anything else goes. oh, and if there's overlap in Squall/Sora, I can't believe that he's still beating Sub-Zero. crazy stuff. I could almost buy Sonic/Sora hurting each other (though if you assume
Sora is getting hurt by Squall AND Sonic... how on EARTH is he beating
Subby?), if only because it makes this match seem somewhat less sane. I
could never buy it being on par with the overlap Squall and Sora have
though... I mean, we've seen
FF/KH SFF, with the weaker entity that got eliminated from the Square
cluster-**** last round. That's one of the things that's actually

Square's been a complete beast this contest. It really reminds me of
2003 when Squall beat Jill and Luigi which he supposedly had no

Sora and Sonic do have more similar voting trends than Squall and Sora. Maybe they really are hurting each other? --- Conformity and rebellion...both ways are simple-minded--they are only for people who cannot cope with contradiction and ambiguity. |

| The problem is, for every 'overlap' argument you
can make for characters who share little other than similarities in
voting trends, there's a million out there that debunk it (woo
Sonic/Master Chief overlap). I can't count out much of anything these
days, especially in this format - but I'll go on the record as saying
