That would be reassuring under normal conditions, but if there's
anything I've gleaned from this contest, it's that picture factor
becomes more pronounced the further away you get from the match's
beginning (which makes sense). Solid **** could easily stop many of
Snake's new Brawl fans that have made his day vote half-decent these
days, and L-Block's picture may garner day vote support that his
strange 3D pictures in earlier rounds could not. It doesn't look GOOD
for L-Block, but I certainly wouldn't call this "over". Stranger things
have happened. --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

L-Block is a hero amongst regular ole' characters. I salute thee. Also, for what it's worth, I asked my brother today what characters come to mind when he thinks of Tetris...and he was originally confused. Without leading him to think of any of the blocks, he eventually says the I-Block, square-block, T-block, Z-block, S-block, L-block, and 7-block in that order. When I told him that L-Block was kicking ass in this contest, his immediate response was "I-Block would kick its ass!" I agree, and so do you. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. I want to know who made a rally for the L-Shaped Tetris Block to begin with. ...never have I been so happy to see Solid Snake within a percent of L-Block --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

| I bet we could get the Alien/Predator hybrid in
here next contest. I mean, the Alien and Predator franchises are movie
based, but the Alien VS. Predator franchise started as a game, IIRC. I

Can always count on voltch to lay some knowledge on us! But yeah, SB was more lax about keeping out joke characters than CJay ever was in the past. Whether that was because there would be 128 spots to fill or because he's just way more lax about everything ever remains to be seen. In any case I'm sure "Carrier" would be allowed if it made the nom cutoff point next year. In other news, does anyone have the final full list for how many B8 noms each character got? here that I was looking through, and was surprised to see that L wasn't

I always thought L-Block was an idea SB had from 2004 that he never got to implement. that's pure speculation though. also.. I can't think of a character that has a worse day vote than L-Block except for one: Bidoof. I know KH is just paranoid because it's his Snake, but you really don't have anything to worry about here. L-Block's day vote wasn't all THAT bad all things considered. I bet he
could win it over Kefka or something Regardless even if he did manage
to have a better day vote than Snake, it would have to be quite a bit
better considering the pounding he's looking to take during the night
time.. Really I'd be expecting the night and the day hours to look pretty similar for the two of them though. The bad picture may have Snake at a slight disadvantage moreso than usual, but not enough of a turn-around for L-Block to scare --- This story is not an end yet. So, after two matches of pure dominance...Solid Snake appears to just barely be able to edge out L-Block. ...Pic be screwed, I'm liking watching what L-Block can do on other strong characters. Well look at it this way. The last time he was Solid **** was against
Yoshi, in which he went from averaging 59% with the before-school vote
to 53.5% with the ASV vote. Now, Yoshi is a pretty heavy hitter in that
category. Here, Snake is now getting what is about the equivalent of
53.5% against L-Block's 46.5%. He'd need to swing at least 3.5% just to
start a stall. When Yoshi only manages a 5.5% swing during a
concentrated ASV whereas L-Block is facing Snake on a diluted
weekend.... yeah. Summary: If for some reason you thought L-Block still had a chance, time to wake up --- This story is not an end yet. Because only you are in the infinity loop. |

"L-Block's day vote wasn't all THAT bad all things considered." L-Block has lost 7-8% in the last two matches through the course of the day. That's bad with the day vote. Just because you can select a pitiful mess of a charcter like Kefka and say he's worse doesn't mean much. L-Block has a bad day vote, losing 7-8% in the last two matches, plain and simple. It should very likely make Snake's bad day vote (w/ S* pick) look decent. And if it doesn't, good for L-Block I guess. But if it follows current trends, Snake only has to not lose more than 2-3% through the day and he wins. --- You do not have the right to never be offended. |

Most of the lost percentage was a result of being front-loaded, which
doesn't really count for being bad with the day vote. If you take the
point at which L-Block stabilizes and compare it to night and day

Well that's the point. L-Block's front-loaded power hour means nothing
in terms of how the match proceeds after that point so there's no point
in taking it into account for the trends that happen later. The fact of
the matter is that Snake is beating L-Block with the night vote
approximately 35% to 30%. Even if L-Block isn't extremely bad with the
day vote, that doesn't change the fact that 35% to 30% is a deficit
that could probably only be overcome by someone who's at least average.
Of which L-Block.... well, isn't. --- This story is not an end yet. Because only you are in the infinity loop. |

A bit late with this today. People did pretty terribly yesterday. Most
peopled failed so only 6 people fell off the Top 50 today. zorsmobile,
Yesmar88, KingMorgoth, Jiggy55, Mac_Arrowny and Silent_Alarm did not
have Pikachu > Dante as yesterday's winners. The 8 people on the Top 50 who scored half points all went up in rank. HaRRicH, BDawg250, Gaddswell, Consolesonlyalt, dragoncrazer, THEVinceYoung, expaniol and shadow8021 also didn't have Pikachu > Dante as yesterday's winners. 36 people on the Top 50 only scored a qurater of the available points. And we all thought that Masterchief was the only threat to Sonic or
Snake to reach the final, but now there's a Tetris block who looks
really dangerous. Granted he's facing Solid ***, but think about this: In round 1 L-block got 30% In round 2 L-Block got 28% In round 3 the L-Block has 33% right now but he will most likely drop a few percent, but this is a proof that he has a loyal fanbase. Heck if The L-Block beats Sonic or Snake next round, I would consider it the favourite to win the whole contest. --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. The beautiful thing is that L-Block has a CATS-like appeal, and not just to hardcore B8'ers, but ALL Gamefaqs visitors. Against radically different levels of competition, the block has failed to win a match, but at the same time, it has had a very consistent 25% of all votes in each of its matches (including one with a noble nine), plus a wavering 3-8% we've yet to see come through enough to help the block win. In this format, having a virtually guaranteed quarter of the vote is CRITICAL, so L Block should get at least third place in next round's match, and because of this really loyal (and LARGE) joke following, it isn't out of the question for it to outplace snake "or" sonic. --- Ogre Battle saga fanboy, and hopeless supporter of Lans Tartare for CB2K8! |

For Sonic and Snake to win next round they both need to score above 30%
while the L-Block will probably be somewhere between 25%-30% plus we
have Squall in the poll. If someone does too well we could see the

Two days in a row of near stats-topic meltdowns. Just great. Looks like the universe has rightened itself and Snake is building over L-Block. Kratos and Riku are also rising to heaven with the morning vote, so things should start looking more...aceeptable from here on out. So L-Block takes second again. Not too surprising this time, but L-Block is going to end up ~29%. Around 30% 3 times in a row...and this time with SNAKE in the poll. So does Sonic, Snake and L end up in a three-way battle for first while Squall ends up looking pitiful, or what.
