It's way too easy to make wang jokes...potty humour is best left to baudy teen movies and high school. In an attempt at seriousness, I would venture to suggest that filling this topic with nonsensical rabid anti-Pokemon ranting led me to humour him (and as a consequence apparently irritated him more), but that's just my opinion. All joking aside, I think I have larger than average genitalia, so I make it a point not
to wear boxers when I know I'll be doing a fair bit of walking or
physical activity on any given day. I have several pairs of spandex

I can't tell if that was sarcasm, but Leon held up like a champ against
Mega Man in 2005. I think this is much more a product of the two

You also have three playstation characters (Leon - RE2 and RE4 selling
the most on PS2 would count I think) in there compared to a nintendo
handheld character...those are two pretty different bases...just a

Wow Leon Kennedy you suck. I thought for sure he was quite underrated
and this would be his year to shine, but I guess having him in the
Elite 8 wasn't such a good idea after all. Oh well, at least now that
I've played DMC3 I can throw my full support behind Dante because he is
so ridiculously awesome that he deserves to beat Leon and MC and

The more I think about todays result in relation to PIkachu's last
round, I'm really not that surprised. While Pika does draw a fair
amount of strength from the cartoons and whatnot, his game was an RPG
that targeted a younger crowd in '98. He beat out Vivi and Tidus last
round, the former who was probably in the most kiddie-friendly FF game
released in '00, and for the later I don't think it's too much of a
stretch to say a decent amount of the people who played and liked IX
would move on to X in '01. All 3 are in the same genre when it comes
down to it and there's probably a good chunk of people that played and
liked all 3. Pikachu underperforming because of this is plenty
believable. Today, Pikachu's the sole representative of the RPG genere, still has the popularity from the cartoon going for him, and probably is about as independent here as Ameratasu. With Dante and Leon splitting each other's votes it really isn't that surprising Pika's taking it. Not that I'm happy about it, but it does at least make a little bit of sense. *goes back to lurking* --- SCCs completed: Thief, Samurai, Archer, Wizard, Mediator |

Pokemon like Charizard, Mewtwo, Lucario, etc. wouldn't get nearly as much complaining. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

Hmm. I'm still not sure why people are questioning the existence of
DMC/RE QXGJPFF (or "SFF", if you want to be boring, psh). Devil May Cry
was originally intended to be
a Resident Evil game, and though it turned out very different in the
end, they appeal to the same sorts of people--especially since RE4 was
so action oriented. They were both Playstation hits, with horror
elements and an action/adventure play style. And they're both Capcom,
if you believe in such things, which...eh. But yeah, after today there really shouldn't be any doubt. Now, Dante/Master Chief is another thing altogether. Lopen aside, I can't imagine the two fanbases overlap that significantly at the moment. NEXT year, with DMC4 on the Xbox, that could change, but right now I just don't see it. A casual-appeal Xbox sci-fi FPS vs. a very difficult Playstation Gothic-horror action game...? Yeah, I don't see it. About the only thing you could say is that Master Chief would suck up a bunch of the casual vote that Dante gets because he's the "cool" one in a poll where the other characters probably aren't that "cool." (Like today's, where Leon's RE2 picture makes him look like a huge dork and the other two are...small furry animals.) I'm not sure how significant that is...it could turn out to have a big impact in this format, anyway, given the importance it seems to bring to that casual recognizability factor. ...CRF. Yeah, I'm pretty excited to see what DMC4 will do for Dante next year.
New game, branching out to a new (and very popular) platform, and the
game looks like it's going to be pretty darn awesome from the trailers
and such. Now the hilarity will be to see whether Nero is cool enough to get nominated, and if so, how well he does. Man, I can't wait to have the next traditional Character Battle. This
contest is nice for big surprises but the gimmick got dry. Lame 4-way
