So...back to next round's discussion -- we've talked about how Dante
has to be the favorite over Luigi and Pikachu to get second to MC now.
However, I do want to mention that, with Ganondorf in the poll, Luigi
still beat Yuna by 5%. How much better does Dante do than Yuna, and how
much differently will Pikachu with a probably-decent picture affect

nah. think about Bowser-Mewtwo -- even with Bowser being stronger, he
couldn't hurt Mewtwo at all and got destroyed by Ryu. this next match

Also, I noticed something a bit crazy: we already know Crono's the
first Noble Niner to not advance to the next round due to somebody
outside of the Noble Nine. However, nearly every match this round will
feature somebody advancing who Crono has beaten before: Mega Man Auron* (*he didn't advance, but he's stronger than Ryu dammit) Mario Vincent* (*the man who eliminated Crono this year) Master Chief Dante Solid Snake N/A* (*Sonic upset Crono last year, Vincent kept Squall from facing Crono in 2k5, Auron kept Sub-Zero from facing him in 2k6, and Sora never had a chance to face him) Yeah, Crono's importance (and bracket placement) is slowly dwindling from 2k2. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. Why? Dante went pretty much even with Yoshi last year, who I think
would beat Luigi. I give Dante at least a small chance against Luigi 1
on 1, much less when he is getting held back... He's also losing to Pikachu right now, who I think we can still assume is weaker than Luigi both traditionally and in this format. If he can have such a significant overlap with Leon, I don't see why he can't have one with Master Chief. How the hell does Dante line up with Chief...they have almost no
connections unlike Leon and Dante who have a ton...now we are just

So, fun-time: I think the majority of us assumed MC would do better
this year because of both Halo 3 and the format...but let's say the
contest next year is your typical one-on-one match-ups again. Of the
people MC is certain to face this year, who would you take him over

Ok, I know I was massively against Dante/Leon LFF, but seriously... MC?
What? They've never shared a system, one is a FPS, and one is an action
game. I mean... they REALLY aren't anything alike. I don't think there
needs to be overlap for Luigi to win still, he's close enough to Dante

This had a bunch of reasons to happen...Dante/MC have pretty
much NOTHING connecting them in any meaningful way...now you are

I could see MC/Dante fans overlapping, despite no technical
similarities. That said, I wasn't counting on Dante/Leon SFF and I'm
even more skeptical of MC/Dante SFF. It all depends on how you want to
look at the match to decide who your favorite is to advance with MC: Luigi: he beat Ganon by 1% and Yuna by 5%...what's Pikachu going to do to him, and how much stronger can Dante be than Yuna? Pikachu: Mudkip only lost to Luigi by 3%, and we're seeing Pikachu smash Dante today too (if right now isn't big enough of a smash for you, wait until the ASV). Dante: Dante is stronger than Yuna, and with Luigi and Pikachu fighting it out for votes on the side Dante may slip by alongside the other casual favorite. The only way I see MC/Dante overlapping is if there is an huge amount
of DMC fans who also like Ninja Gaiden do to similar gameplay and this

Dante is doing too poorly to be considered next round. If Leon can
split his fanbase, Master Chief can too. Yesterday I would have told
