I do begin to wonder if most Pokemon could be grouped together or not
though. I mean...24.95% against Bowser/Toad with Ryu in the poll,
24.97% against Ganon/Luigi with Vergil in the poll, or 13.27% against
Link/Zelda with Vincent in the poll? Those don't seem that different to me, forgive me. Pikachu is currently doing as good as any of them so far, too. I'm just...I dunno, I wonder if Pokemon are all that different or if Mewtwo is even the top Pokemon (directly or indirectly). Uhh how could Pikachu be stronger than Mewtwo? In a direct match maybe,
but I thought consensus placed Mewtwo way higher in the stats than
Pikachu would be. People don't actually think that Pikachu's stronger than Vivi now, do they? --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

I added board 8 wiki and thegamer/guru to my site menu. n00b It seems Dante never really started to take off until after a couple hours. He doesn't seem to have a very good opening vote. I wouldn't count him out completely here I really hope this is more than wishful thinking. Harrich I don't think Pikachu's first match is a good case of LFF since Tidus and Serge are from different series and generations AND Pikachu had Isaac to contend with too. Haste2's idea, which might have some merit, is that Pikachu was hurt both rounds. I too think Tidus was hurt by LFF more there, but what if everyone was hurt? And Pikachu/Tidus/Vivi were all hurt relative to Leon in round 2? The distasteful thing there is that it makes Pikachu too close to Leon in a "legit" sense. That also doesn't sound right. Pikachu and Mewtwo both need to come back next year...but it's a goddamn shame Mewtwo didn't get Pikachu's spot. I think a lot of people would've taken Mewtwo to win here though. He would've been the underdog, but not a shocker. (also he probably would've won last round) Ngamer To get back to the earlier point, I still take Fox over Pika in a 1v1 situation, and without any real hesitation. But Pika v Donkey Kong? Yikes! They're very similar characters in terms of design and appeal, and I
know it has already been debated, but DMC and RE4 really are also

I think Mewtwo and Pikachu are probably fairly close together now, in this format. Did anyone predict Pikachu > Dante? This seems to me like the most insane result of the contest so far. L-Block>Kirby was pretty nuts too. I wonder which will have the lower general bracket percentage. Probably this one, because it's a later round...but then, the general bracketmakers might have a lot more faith in Pikachu than L-Block. Without Tidus hurting him more than Pikachu, Vivi wins that match. And
as we saw in Round 1, Vivi isn't on Leon's level. --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

You know, one could make a case that DMC and RE4 really aren't all that
different even in terms of genre. They're both white-knuckle action
games with some survival horror elements (and even a pinch of RPG
elements) thrown in. The controls and perspective are different, but

Up until RE4, you couldn't really classify RE as an 'action' genre. 'Twas pure survival-horror, emphasis on the survival. RE4 is when you were encouraged to just blow everything away... but unfortunately, that's where Leon gets the bulk of his strength... --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. They're both Capcom. They're also both designed by Shinji Mikami. Shinji's favoruite character in the RE series is Leon and based Dante off that. I knew this. I just find it hard to believe that they would appeal to the same audience. Well, until now that is. |

unfortunately, that's where Leon gets the bulk of his strength... Definitely. RE4 strays from the series, and for that reason has been universally hailed as the series' "rebirth." They're both Capcom I really don't think we have many pre-RE4 DMC/RE fans here. A huge chunk of DMC fanbase were RE fans who got shafted when Capcom moved the franchise to Nintendo. Not to mention the biggest reason DMC quickly got the spotlight was from the playable demo shipped with PS2 version of Code Veronica. |

Good god. What the hell is going on here? When the hell did GameFAQs
like Pokemon so much (at least, all the ones that should have a
negative vote total because they suck so much)? I long for the days
