Anybody who can't recognize classic Metroid or LoZ sprites doesn't deserve to vote. If this was directed at me, I've played all the Metroid games and some earlier LoZ games. I was just stating that Samus looks like crap, that's all. I mean, the first game appearance thing is kind of a silly theme to me. So the Finals are looking to be 2 boosted Brawl characters with their
own individual fanbase. The Brawl related powerhouse of these contests.

Haven't read most of the topic yet, so this ground will probably already be covered, but here's my thought... Looks like Sonic's upside on the Brawl boost has fully materialized. Also, the suspicions about Sub-Zero being hurt by a Shredder pic seem to be in the direction of being confirmed. Quite possible the he underachieved against Auron, thus making Master Chief's boost not quite so ridiculous, and also making Sonic's 1st round performance more acceptable. This is basically the Brawl+Orange Box match (though Gordon should go down in the day of course; he's got much more day vote competition here than in his last match). If this is Orange Box though, he might prove himself in the day. Most
Orange Box buyers were 360 owners who most likely were being introduced
to HL2 for the first time. So he might actually hold up if he gets some

Just saw the pics. My thoughts (again, haven't really read other people's, so shouldn't be anything new). That pic definitely brings up some concerns for Samus. It's not like she's out of Mega Man's league, and with the new format already adding some variance... Not like Samus is the underdog now, and she win still win easily, but people have to wonder a bit. I'd be very, very surprised now if Ryu ended up beating out Auron. As we've seen, SFF seems to be less important in this format due to the character already largely being reduced to his core fanbase. I already figured Auron would hold up well against Cloud. And with that awful sprite pic, as well as the tendency of 3rd/4th place characters to collapse, I could see Ryu sucking it up badly next round anyway. Also, perhaps the most important thing...I wonder if we will see Pig Ganon?
