Uh oh, Samus has stopped the bleeding for a second... Looks like Samus/Yoshi overlap to me, considering how poorly Yoshi is doing. Wouldn't it look more like LFF from Yoshi if Yoshi was doing better...? |

Good update for Samus. I'm hoping for a good match here. Those votes are the whole reason Samus is a Noble Niner in the first place! To play Devil's Advocate (because Samus IS the devil), that's the
sprite Mega Man uses in almost all of his original series, and is
instantly recognizable to anyone who has played those games. Samus'
Metroid sprite is from the original Metroid, a game that is nearly

Alright, I guess I like that pic too... but it seems like NES sprites in general aren't that strong on GameFAQs. I can see where that applies for characters like Samus and Snake, who have detailed designs that need more detailed sprites/models to look cool with. Simpler designs like Mega Man and Mario, though, not so much. |

This match is good because it's the first time all contest where we're seeing two real powerhouses fight it out. Early on I kept thinking Yoshi/Scorpion would get the bracket vote, because I'm used to the lesser characters getting that. That and Samus and Snake get a very negligible amount of strength from their NES games. Mega Man series would double up Metroid in a match* book it --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. *augh |

If Samus does anything, it will be during the morning, and if she
doesn't do enough, Mega Man will come back with the afternoon/evening

friendly reminder that Mega Man's early vote is his best time. last
year, I argued that Mega Man had arguably the best first hour of any
strong character with the possible exception of Crono. if this is close
-- say, within 2-300 votes come morning -- Samus probably wins it with
ease. looks like Mega Man may extend that a bit beyond though. but
still, when the deep night hits, Mega Man *should* drop off a little

really don't think so. His best hope is that Yoshi hurts both of them,
and that Samus' pic hurts her day vote. Normally, Samus wouldn't have

Mega Man is a really balanced character. He doesn't really have trends,
he just stays consistant or follows his opponent's trends. Samus seems like a more day-centric character, but her sprite HAS to hurt her day vote with the impressionable kiddies. TuRtLe ~~~ 205/256 in the contest. Next pick: Samus > Mega Man BlAcK TuRtLe. The cream of Zero fanboyism |
