Snake > Ryu is a lock at this point. The way he dominated last round, combined with the fact that Bowser still couldn't beat Ryu even with Toad/Mewtwo gone PLUS the whole Snake/Sora thing, if Riku wins I will be very surprised. Round 2- Division 7 Semifinal A Previous Matches: http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2887 http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=2888 Characters Involved: Kirby The dum pink ball has a so-so first round, but that may be due to the shocking success of... L-Block Easily the best joke character ever, the Tetris shape hopes to take advantage of Kirby/DK SFF to advance. Kratos The Kratos that doesn't suck showed us that he is indeed one of hte character battle rising stars last round by laying waste to Donkey Kong and Marth. Kratos should have no trouble getting first here with Kirby and DK beating eachother down. Donkey Kong Last round DK didn't totally suck, which practically guarentees that he'll be bombing today. A contest without a DK choke job is like.... well, something without something good. Predictions: For some reason, Kirby is the board favourite to take first here. In my opinion, Kratos should have no trouble here. First of all, with his 2k5-2k6 boost, and the fact that GoW2 has come out since the last contest, I'd peg him at having a decent match with Kirby 1 on 1, let alone with Donkey Kong spreading the Nintendo vote. As for second, Kirby should have it locked up barring any L-shaped surprises. L-block certainly has a shot here, but I think that it will crumble with the increased competition, and the fact that 2 of its competitors are Nintendo stars. TuRtLe's Prediction: Kratos 35%, Kirby 26%, DK 19%, L-block 20% TuRtLe's Bracket: Kratos > Kirby TuRtLe's Vote: L-block TuRtLe ~~~ 177/224 in the contest. Next pick: Kratos > Kirby BlAcK TuRtLe. Whoa dude, I've seen some pretty wacky logic around here lately, but
did you just use SF Ryu's performance to make an argument for Ryu
Hyabusa? Coincidentally, both Ryu's had a similar round 1 situation. Both absolutely destroyed their competitors due to them all SFFing eachother. Except in Hayabusa's case, he managed to outdo both his competitors combined, something regular Ryu couldn't do, and look at what happened to King Koopa. Riku would need over 100% of Roxas' votes to transfer over from last round, PLUS he has Solid Snake to deal with this time. I would love for Riku to win, because that's who I have in my bracket, but Hayabusa has this one locked up. TuRtLe ~~~ 177/224 in the contest. Next pick: Kratos > Kirby BlAcK TuRtLe. I'm getting a weird feeling about DK now. I just remembered that
setting DK = to 2006 M Chief lands him at 28% on BL...very close to
Kirby. If he holds up well in an SFF match (doubtful, but only because

Match XLV: Kirby vs. L-Block vs. Kratos vs. Donkey Kong Past Matches Round 1 Kirby - 44.39% L-Block - 30.89% Laharl - 16.95% Nathan Hale - 7.78% Kratos - 40.13% Donkey Kong - 27.66% Marth - 20.65% Prince of All Cosmos - 11.56% Analysis L-Block was able to surpass expectations by leading against Kirby before he made his epic fall throughout the day. Looks like we have our strongest joke character right here. With the power of the newly released God of War 2 Kratos was able to demolish his competition though a little SFF may have helped him a little. As for DK it’s hard to gauge him, he could be anywhere from stronger than Kirby to weaker than the L-Block. Kratos will take first in this poll GoW2 has helped him a lot and by his performance against DK even with SFF I don’t think Kirby has a chance and to make things worse he also has a Nintendo character to worry about. Kratos also has a chance at making it to round four and by now I consider him the favourite, but he still has to prove himself this round whether or not he can take it. Kirby is the favourite to come in second though looking at the gurus I think he was the favourite to come in first when the brackets were made. Kirby has been in two previous Nintendo matches and even though he hasn’t gotten SFF the vote totals in both of those matches were terrible leading me to believe that him not getting SFF will help Kratos more than it would help himself. Like I’ve said DK can be anywhere in this match and even though I have him in second I think DK only has a small chance at happening. First he has to hope that there was definite fan base overlap between himself and Marth and he has to hope that the Nintendo fan base prefers DK over Kirby. Using last year Sub-Zero DK is expected to lose to Kirby 54/46 so it wouldn’t be a stretch for DK to take the upset. L-Block will take last. It’ll probably start off in first or second before dieing off. The only character I can see L-Block beating is DK and that’s if Kirby decides to SFF him or if he chokes badly. I never wanted to see the L-Block in a contest because it isn’t a character, but he did really well hopefully we can rally for a random piece of Final Fantasy VII furniture for 2k8. However the L-Block may perform worse than what he did last round because like Pac-Man I see it doing well against unknown characters (last round it was Kirby vs. not Kirby for the average voter), but with three known characters I wouldn’t be surprised if it somehow fails to break 10% Kratos will take first and I still believe in DK so I’ll take him as second. Watch him start off in second build a 1000+ lead and then loses it. Lara is probably around Akuma's level. Lara got pretty close to Chun Li
last year, remember. Akuma almost beat Aeris with just Squall. Factor
in Sora plus add in Lara's casual appeal and voila, Squall > Lara.

I took Hayabusa to round 3 myself, glad I didn't let the board talk me out of that one. There's no way Riku can pull in over 80-85% of Roxas's votes, and more than 60% of Haseo's votes.
