Tomorrow's match: SFF between the other contenders will keep Sephiroth
snugly above the 50% line. Fox will do better than Meta Knight and
Wario combined due to Wario's terrible <10% performance. Meta Knight

2) Auron dominating this hard means he could potentially advance to
round 4. What if he and Cloud SFF eachother enough that Samus takes

So...how well does everybody think Auron will hold up to Cloud next
round? Before you answer, I have some points of interest I tried the
other day but can elaborate on now: 1) Ryu got 41.02% against Bowser in 2k5, and now got 36.3% against Bowser/Mewtwo/Toad. 2) Yoshi got 31.92% against Mega Man in 2k5, and now got 28.24% against Mega Man/Knuckles/KOS-MOS. Those two examples lead me to believe that -- when involving two characters we've seen face off before and believe had an anomaly -- the SFF'd/under-performing one doesn't move much when you throw in competition weaker than said victim of an anomaly. Nobody is taking Mewtwo/Toad over Ryu, and nobody is taking Knuckles/KOS-MOS over Yoshi anymore (though my bracket did in the first round for both instances...grrr)...and when you throw in the characters that SFF'd them, very few people vote for Mewtwo/Toad over Ryu or Knuckles/KOS-MOS over Yoshi. In fact, they both retained ~88.5% of their voters. This is very interesting to me... ...since Auron got 27.8% against Cloud in 2k3. Assuming that number stayed accurate and Auron kept 88.5% of them, Auron manages 24.6% next round...which beats what Bowser currently has right now and ~1.5% under what Ryu currently has in today's match. Auron also has new reason to gain strength since 2k3 too: KH2 did him a lot of favors last year. Since Auron > Ryu and Fenix, there's a very good chance Auron survives next round. It doesn't hurt that he's nearly got a 10% gap on Ryu right now, either. If anybody wants to argue against this based on Ryu's performance today with Bowser in the poll, save it; Auron is proving he's stronger than Bowser or Ryu, and my theory is looking like it works best when the SFF'er and SFF'd are first and second in strength (respectively). I want to see how Sora does with Aeris/Squall before I really get behind this though. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. I've been thinking about the same sort of thing, Harrich...if a voter
is already "weird" if he has Auron above somebody stronger than him,
he's really
weird if he has Auron above someone that would SFF him, like Cloud. Sub
in "dedicated" for "weird" and that suggests that it's harder for the

Why do people still think Sonic has a snowball's chance in hell of
making the finals? The board is getting owned on the match no matter
what. Either Ganon takes 2nd to snake and Im the happiest man in the
world, squall gets 2nd to snake and some random FF fanboy favorites
bracket wins, or Masterchief gets 2nd to snake and all the boobs who
havent followed past contests owned the elitist board vets. I'd say its probably going to be Ganon or or Chief. I cant see squall taking 2nd over either one with snake in the poll. I can honestly see the chief pulling it off; his fanbase is the most separate, and he went nuts in round 1 even without Halo 3. I quit caring about the MGS storyline somewhere in the middle of MGS2.
If I wanted to watch a long dull movie that didn't make any sense, I'd
pick up anything by David lynch. The parts of MGS3's story I could connect to prior games Id paid attention to were pretty cool, but I wasnt about to try and comprehend the cluster**** that was MGS2's story to get ready for MGS3. --- Contest pts: 115 (leaderboard position #27) Today: Cloud>Jill |
