Eh, I don't think that Sonic gets thrown into the Nintendo SFF like
Mega Man does. When Sonic and Mega Man rumble, it's just man to man,
blue to blue. There's definitely evidence for it, but I don't buy it
just yet. I'm not sure why throwing Yoshi in there costing Samus the match would make you feel any better about Samus's SFF resistance, though. Funny you mention that. I've always believed that that's why Samus was
seemingly so strong, and why I thought she'd totally crumble against
Mario in spite of it. For some reason I think Samus reaches out beyond
the typical Nintendo fanbase a bit. Maybe because she looks cool, or
she's darker
or whatever. But as far as the actual Nintendo fanbase has her, she's
not that high up in their rankings. High enough to get the vote against
all but the strongest Nintendo entrants most of the time, but yeah. Who really knows, though? I've been wanting a Samus vs Mega Man match for a good while. Well in a way I think it does, it helps explain why she can manage 37%
on Link despite supposedly being "low on the pecking order." I mean say
Link compacts her Nintendo vote way down, and Mario does the same. It's
much more noticeable when Mario does it because he's not a juggernaut,
but most Nintendo fans will have Link > Mario > Samus or Mario
> Link > Samus so she doesn't get hurt any more by Link aside
from him just being stronger to being with. And I think Mega Man is the other one that's just strong enough to make Samus look much worse than she is and dominate her. Every other Nintendo character is just too weak to put up a fight (though I suspect Kirby, Luigi, or Yoshi might make her look pretty bad like Zelda did given the opportunity) or Link. Zero I almost consider an independent entity because I figure most of his support comes from the PS. You are...the SNES MMXs and the Zero series are much bigger factors in
Zero's popularity...the former because they sold a hell of a lot more
than the PS MMXs did and the latter since he is the main character and

By the way, I haven't seen very many game-based movies, but I believe
the original MK is our holy grail, as it's the only one that hasn't

I actually kinda liked the Street Fighter movie too. No Mortal Kombat,
but it's a cut above the other VG movies if for Raul Julia's awesome M

Oh gawd. Mario Brothers. I hated that movie so much. Balding Mario 20 years older than a stacheless Luigi. What. I want a live action version of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show guys. awesome M Bison performance if nothing else. I agree, the rest of the movie sucks (Guile doesn't have his right hair cut, Zangief is evil cause he's from Russia while Balrog is one of the good guys since he's from USA, and the fact that Guile is the main character is an insult to the series) but oh Raul Julia did an awesome M.Bison... To me... It was just tuesday Scorpion advances doesn't bother me, but I will be pissed if both of the MK ninjas gets to round 3 but no freaking HADOKKEN Ryu... --- Ngamer64: Zylo, you're making less sense every day. It's not just that Guile is the main character of the movie but it's

Samus is just eating all of the percent. It also looks like Midna is
getting SFF last round she got 40% on Scorpion but here she's only

Samus is really impressive here. Nearly 46% and rising. For that
matter, I think we're seeing now that there wasn't very much LFF
between Axel and Frog... after all, they're about as polarized as they
can get for both being from Square. I wonder if she'd best Snake in a 4-way poll without SFF...? Snake looked amazing, but Samus might be stronger than she's ever been with MP:C. --- "Ah, a party! Snake fourpack in round 2 is definitely much stronger than Samus, if
Snake can somehow break 45% on his fourpack, i am confident in saying
Snake is stronger. Ryu.H/Scorpion -Well i think Ryu.H and Sub-Zero are close in strength in this format, Ryu.H will be comfortably above Scorpion. Riku/Frog- Frog struggled with Axel, i think Riku will win against Frog easily. Nightmare/Midna- LOL, Nightmare will eat Midna for breakfast. --- Proud Supporter of Solid Snake, Dante and Ryu. Test Your Might is awesome. I never knew that was what the song was
called. I'm pretty sure I have it somewhere on my computer as "Mortal
Kombat Theme". Has there ever been a club/dance remix for that? Samus is really impressive here. Yes, she is impressing now. I didn't think her early performance was anything special because I didn't expect her to rise this much. She is indeed impressing now. I think Mega Man has a shot, just because of the format, and also Yoshi. I don't think there's any reason to believe Yoshi's presence will benefit either over the other - however, it's just another unpredictable factor. It's a wildcard; while you figure it shouldn't help either one, you never know. Same holds true for the format. No reason it should benefit one, but it adds uncertainty. Also, I always thought of Mega Man being similar to Mario. So him SFFing Samus isn't out the question, though one has to think it unlikely. But Samus haven't been given anything to doubt her so far. For that matter, I think we're seeing now that there wasn't very much LFF between Axel and Frog... after all, they're about as polarized as they can get for both being from Square. It was never something I thought of, until I saw the Oracle predictions for Frog. Most seemed to expect him to have a higher % this round than last round, even though the competition was clearly tougher this round. and while I kinda agree on Mega Man being
similar to Mario, a good chunk of Samus's strength comes from Smash
Bros. Mega Man doesn't have the presence there to negate any strength
that Samus has. I'll never say Samus > Mega Man is certain -- I
think that might be the match of the contest just because of how crazy
unpredictable it is -- but I like my chances there. percentages in that

Mega Man Overperforms When Shooting People In The Face Given the topics made on this board at times, I would expect that there is a percentage of voters who vote for who they think would win in a fight. It's not like 2002 where the poll had "Who is your favorite?" in addition to the list of names, so I can see why (a fair number of) people would make that mistake. --- Hello world |

I would expect that there is a percentage of voters who vote for who they think would win in a fight. You know, I never noticed until just now that it says Battle above the poll. Which would explain Mega Man overperforming when he's shooting someone in the head, and why Tidus' one good match was the one where he was holding a sword in the pic. The energy sword would be the worst weapon for MC to use against Crono. >_< I always thought a tiny part of KOS's strength came from that - it just makes no sense to me that she's as popular as she is. Well, I wouldn't say the her strength comes from people thinking it's about who wins in a fight, but the fact that she's incredibly powerful no doubt plays a part in her popularity. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |
