So . . . in a 1v1, Nightmare or Akuma? Nightmare is my gut, but Akuma
looks decent on arguably stronger competition (Aeris and Squall vs.

Akuma is basically up against 2 characters compared to Nigtmare's 3. Snake/Vyse/Rayman > Squall/Aeris/Geno TuRtLe ~~~ 87/112 in the contest. Next pick: Squall > Aeris BlAcK TuRtLe. The cream of Zero fanboyism |

Johnny Cage would bomb. He's too generic looking. Subby and Scorps are
very memorable and recognizable. Which is why I think Zangief and E

Cammy fails for not being an original SF character then. Anyway, when we've seen Ryu continuously, Ken twice, Chun-Li twice, M. Bison be comparable to Chun-Li, the difference between M. Bison and Chun-Li in that poll, and how Akuma is doing today (I'm giving this to Aeris/Squall hurting each other more than expected)... ...I don't see the need for another SF character. We've seen what are most likely the three biggest fan-favorites of the SF series, the boss of the most popular SF game and well-known through-out the series, and the likely favorite as far as SF characters not in SF2 go. No, that poll fails because Bison is tied for 8th. ...unless Guile, Blanka, Vega, Sagat and Dhalsim are all above his level. |

SF2's one of those things where you could add characters for years, but
they're not going to get any stronger than the Kens and the Chun-Lis of
the world. it's the same mentality as FF6 -- "something has to be strong, right?" it's really tough to gauge where Akuma is here. I'll probably gauge him through Lara next round. if Lara gets less than Akuma, I'd say we have a low midcarder on our hands, just like Chunners and Ken. if Lara does better, Akuma's probably around Kefka level. this format totally obscures strength though, so we really don't know. --- ZFStix: nin nin nin ima ninja!!! nin nin nin XD ZFStix: kill it |

If Ken was oin Akuma's position, then he would have advanced, I
actually think that Akuma is the weakest fighting character in this

Holy crap, just checked how Hayabusa's poll ended...did Hayabusa
completely stand up to KH's day-vote? Because 46% > 40% and
Hayabusa's opponents > Zero's or Dante's. He also still managed to
beat Riku and Roxas combined. Just...holy ****. I don't really want to over-hype the guy, but he's a potential threat for Round Three that I didn't consider before nor most other people. Riku did get 45% on Yoshi and it'd be practically unanimous that Yoshi > Kirby. It's often talked about that Solid may hurt Kratos, and the more SSBB support he can hold onto the more it hurts Kirby. Hayabusa's got the most independent fanbase, too... ...it's relying a lot on circumstances that I'm not counting on, but Hayabusa advancing alongside Solid for two rounds is possible. --- PETITION: a "Contest Suggestions" board. Akuma's done a great job of slowing Aeris down.. looks like his night
vote is indeed better than his day vote. we'll see if he completely

| If Snake hurts Kratos, he hurts Ryu as well, the argument for Snake 'SFFing' Kratos is the same as the one for Dante SFFing Ryu. A kind of badass SFF if you will. I see Kratos and Ryu having pretty similar fanbases. |

I'd really REALLY hate to see Ness go, considering he's an original and
kicked so much ass in SSB while starting in SSBM. That said...without
cloning again or rather different moves, I can't help but think Ness's

I'd hate to sound like I'm clinging to a possible Akuma comeback, but
I'd expect him to have a day vote stronger than any SF character we've
seen. Akuma is definitely a casual SF fan's pick, and his claims to
fame are from games newer than what we consider to be the backbone of

Well... it actually does seem like Akuma is going to do better in the
day. We're only about 30 minutes into the night vote so you can't say
anything for sure, but it definitely looks like Akuma is starting to
actually do worse than he was in the previous hour or 2. Starting to do
worse in the night vote means one of 2 things. Either you're in general
a very front-loaded vote person like the Chrono Trigger cast, or you're
going to improve in the day. Considering Akuma's opening vote was very lackluster, I'd think to rule out the former. It's just that, I don't think Akuma's improvement will be anything near enough to win over Aeris. Especially considering that Aeris's best time has just started, so the current lead, which is already nearly 1000, hasn't even started to grow at its maximum rate --- This story is not an end yet. yeah, I'm 99% sure Aeris has this. Akuma may be better than Aeris in
the day, but I highly doubt he's going to turn the whole match around.
plus, if this night vote is any kind of a clue, he's probably going to
be down a huge amount.. especially after Aeris does even more damage to
him during that school period. if Akuma has anything resembling SF2's

Yeah, I'm not liking Akuma's chances just because the lead is at 900
and growing going into Aeris's best time. But if Akuma keeps her from
completely running away (possible, SF's night vote is pretty mighty,
though I don't think Akuma will follow those trends) this is still a

Aeris is really surprising me here. I figured she would get totally massacred by Squall. Seriously, which FF fan votes Aeris over Squall? I like FF7 a lot more than FF8, but I would never vote Aeris over Squall. I think Auron is a damn near lock to get first in Round 2. Ryu beating

Well, actually, he just straight up did look more impressive. Thing is

Nobody answered my question the first time, so I'll just ask again: Is Aeris getting SFF'd at all here by Squall, or are the Squall/Aeris % what you'd expect according to their X-stat values? On the one hand, I kind of don't want Akuma to be doing well here, as
it suggests he might get stomped come daytime. On the other... the hell
with it. Votes are votes. Better stalling/making small gains than to be
getting crushed to levels where even a day vote comeback wouldn't help.
