Round 1- Division 7 Group D Characters Involved: Haseo In serious contention with Agent J and Nathan Hale to be the weakest character in the field this year. Riku Summer 2005 Contest Zebes Division - 4 Seed Zebes Round 1 --- Lost to (5) Frog, 45455 [48.33%] - 48604 [51.67%] Extrapolated Strength --- 36th Place [22.12%] Summer 2006 Contest Patriot Division - 3 Seed Patriot Round 1 --- Lost to (6) Yoshi, 56325 [44.80%] - 69394 [55.20%] Extrapolated Strength --- 17th Place [36.00%] Nobody would have expected it in 2005, but Riku is a decent force in the contests, even if Yoshi is overrated last year. Guarenteed to advance here, and likely to the division finals where he could have a nice close match with Kratos and Kirby. Ryu Hayabusa Summer 2004 Contest Chaos Division - 3 Seed Chaos Round 1 --- Defeated (14) Jill Valentine, 35220 [50.02%] - 35193 [49.98%] Chaos Quarterfinal --- Lost to (6) Sora, 30773 [38.28%] - 49626 [61.72%] Extrapolated Strength --- 36th Place [20.65%] Summer 2005 Contest Mushroom Division - 6 Seed Mushroom Round 1 --- Lost to (3) Zero, 33771 [37.00%] - 57507 [63.00%] Extrapolated Strength --- 37th Place [21.76%] Summer 2006 Contest Patriot Division - 7 Seed Patriot Round 1 --- Lost to (2) Dante, 41576 [34.80%] - 77894 [65.20%] Extrapolated Strength --- 32nd Place [27.66%] Ryu isn't the strongest character in today's match, but he's no slouch. A decent midcarder, and he has reason to impress this year with Ninja Gaiden Sigma and the X-Box characters impressing. Roxas It seems every year a new Kingdom Hearts character enters the field. He's almost a lock for third place in that he should have no chance against the much more popular Riku. Rather, his role in this match is to leech as much of Riku's support as he can so Ryu H can pull through the win. Predictions: A match that wasn't reallly debated until after Bowser's fourpack, Ryu H hopes to follow regular Ryu's footsteps and taking advantage of 2 other characters SFFing eachother to steal first. Unlike regular Ryu though, Hayabusa has a lot more ground to cover, and only 2 characters SFFing eachother as opposed to SF Ryu's 3. How close this match ends up falls entirely on Roxas' hands. If he can even be as strong as Axel, that could be enough to let Ryu sqeak by. On top of that, X-Box characters have been impressing left and right this year, so why can't Ryu H get some of the action? He's also expanded his fanbase to include PS3 users since last year. Riku's the favourite, but Ryu H was too sexy an upset not to take. TuRtLe's Prediction: Ryu H 40%, Riku 38%, Roxas 14%, Haseo 8% TuRtLe's Bracket: Ryu > Riku TuRtLe's Vote: Have to go with the original video game ninja here TuRtLe ~~~ 79/104 in the contest. Guys this isn't how matches work --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

Much as my dying bracket would love to believe otherwise, I'd be
stunned if Hayabusa dropped this. Riku has typically had a 'bad' board
vote in matches where he's been a heavy underdog (c'mon people... it
was Frog and Yoshi). It's not like Hayabusa's has been any better
against Zero and Dante... --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |
