I wonder to what degree Kilik or Cervantes or Raphael could match
this. I really can't see them being that much weaker than Nightmare,
unless I'm more out of touch with the SC fanbase than I thought
(although I suppose this match points to that). I doubt they could come all that close to Nightmare. Nightmare should easily be the standard-bearer for that series when it comes to these contests. The rest would probably be outright fodder or borderline fodder, really. I'm not in touch with the fanbase either, but Nightmare is so much the type of character who does well in these contests than anyone else from that series. Marcus Fenix Arthas Menethil Meta Knight Mewtwo Pit L-Block Nightmare Why Pit? He'd just be another high fodder/low midcarder Smash character. Nightmare is to Soul Calibur as Kefka is to Final Fantasy 6. Ensemble
cast with no main character, and a villain that really stands out in

The only SC characters I think would be somewhere between Nightmare
& Ivy are Kilik, Siegfried, and maybe Taki (ninja+TJF=win?)

What BT said. He's just a badass that got popular like Scorpion and
Sub-Zero. He's got a recognizable and memorable design, with what the
eyeball in the sword and whatnot what have you. None of the other SC

What's this everyone stuff? Did a *majority* even expect him to bomb? I know this was a while back, but I just saw it now. I remember a LOT of people in here saying that Nightmare would be a bomb, wasn't worth nominating him, high fodder, etc. Especially after Ivy got rocked. I think Hayabusa winning makes the most sense, but it's not a lock. Others were still confident in Riku though, because they said Roxas would be worthless. But looking at that picture...I dunno.
