Poor, poor Spyro...and this time, he can't blame TJF for his cruddy
performance. Speaking of which, some fun little contest trivia for ya: Spyro is now the 4th different character from the 2002 Character Battle to lose their first round match that year, yet managed to return to the contest sooner than the character that defeat them. Spyro lost to Morrigan Aensland Terry Bogard lost to Aya Brea, he returned in 2004 Raziel lost to Strider Hiryu, he returned in 2003 And last but certainly not least, the imfamous birth of GFNW, Gordon Freeman losing to Tina Armstrong --- Current Points: 71 Maximum Possible Points: 747/768 |

| Regarding tonight's match, I still think L-Block has a very realistic chance, but I'm not as faithful in his chances as I once was. By my count, we've seen four joke characters so far: Midgar Zolom, CATS, Bidoof, and Mudkip. Even though Zolom had an excuse, it's clear that the two non-Pokemon jokes did very poorly. I'm hoping teh block doesn't continue that trend, but I'm a bit reassured that the sheer shock of seeing a damn Tetris Block in the poll will earn him votes. |

times in one thread. Well, the difference in perspective is caused by the fact that most of the ASCII is being posted by people that don't typically post in this topic. Not at all unusual, of course - the Stats Topic is the most heavily lurked topic on this board by FAR (how else do you explain us getting blamed by the board for so many bad picks?). Most people either don't care to or don't have anything to add to the discussion typically, but having fun and posting silly ASCII doesn't take nearly as much of an investment. --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

Oh and as far as the ASCII, I guess the first time you see it it's
alright but I don't see the point in spamming the same one a dozen

I think Charizard would be the strongest pokemon. Doubt it (Mewtwo holds that position handily), but Charizard should have #2 locked up. --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. KHF sucks and never existed either, much like my package. |

You can have fun posting ascii anywhere, you don't need to do it in
the stats topic. For someone who has a stick stuck up there ass on so
many subjects, you sure do like to take it to the people who don't like
ASCII in here. I agree that Ulti has far too many anal sticks (sorry, but you do), but he's right here. I never got what makes these topics so special, aside from their longevity... When somebody decides to flood the F/SS+D with ASCII... no real problem here. I don't see how an internet topic can be 'wasted' when you have an infinite supply of potential ones. --- *is Xic* ...for now. |

I don't see how an internet topic can be 'wasted' when you have an infinite supply of potential ones. It's not that, it's that the ASCII tends to interrupt the flow of the discussion - responding to someone can be a bit irritating if you have to scroll past a gigantic Pikachu in between every one of your posts. It's not a crippling impediment of course - heck, there's already a Part 501 made so that people can do just that - but it's just easier to discuss the stats without the whole ASCII thing. At least this time it happened during a boring match. Wasn't the last time during Dante/Yoshi? Yeah... that was meh. --- Samus 2K5 is horribly underrated, and is indirectly stronger than Mario. Yes, Ridley was a more ridiculous pick than those. First of all, Balthier was untested. Pikachu vs Tidus I give you as being fairly off the wall. However, people could support that happening with Pokemon's recent success in the games contest and the fact that Pikachu's last non SFF match was in 2002 and the three way RPG split. Ridley's greatest feat was losing 43-57 to Diablo. What, is that suddenly more impressive than losing 45-55 to Bowser or 41-59 to Zelda? I mean, hindsight is 20-20 but I can't even think of any halfway decent logic to support Ridley beating Vivi and Leon here... what, massive MP3 boost or something? --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly.
