Well..this is definitely Pokemon season...but I still can't believe people actually like Pikachu. ...and if this is just people blindly voting for Pikachu cause he's from Pokemon....I feel even worst... --- "Opinions are like butts, little girl. That's what everyone says. Why would Crono underperform in a sprite round match? I don't buy it myself, but everyone else seems to like that explanation. Irregardless, like I said, Tidus' only decent match pic was the one he had against Ganondorf. I'm a firm believer in match pics having more of an impact than most think. Pikachu is behind double SFF in 2003, who would use that stat? *rolls eyes* 2002, then. Whatever. ...come to think of it, why am I arguing this? Like I said, I'm not predicting Vivi's doom. I just wondered if there was any reason for people lauding him besides the x-stats. The answer appears to be no. |

I'm a firm believer in match pics having more of an impact than most think. ZSS is what convinced me to take this ideology. It's almost impossible to tell what happened in that match. ZSS is a nice easy way out on that one, but it hardly makes sense. --- let's mosey |

I'll never understand how people use Master Chief getting the energy
sword as a reason for his overperformance on Crono, but don't want to
even consider Tidus having a sword as the reason for his one and only
impressive match in contest history being worth anything. I never considered that. I suppose it's possible - Tidus might be very pic-sensitive, on account of his character design looking so pansy-ish. Maybe a sword would help him more than most. where you at, yo? awesome that you're diggin' it. I just entered the Bevelle Cloister. So far, I'm digging the battle system and cast of characters (the ones in your party, anyway) the most. Presentation and music are also sweet. If I had to rank my favorites at this point, they'd be: Lulu > Auron > Rikku > Tidus > Yuna > Kimahri > Wakka Wakka was way up there at the start, but he dropped like a rock after showing off his whole religious fundamentalis shtick. When was this HM heel turn anyway? But it's not really complete - he's still rooting for Mario. I think he's more like a tweener. HM It's almost impossible to tell what happened in that match. ZSS is a nice easy way out on that one, but it hardly makes sense. I dunno, makes a lot of sense to me. I remember as a kid how stunned everyone was when finding out she was a woman. I'm still not sure that mascot loyalty, though, is enough to counter the fact that it's FF9, a game people have either forgotten about or loathed for years. Not in this format. I thought Chrono Cross was a great game. Very flawed, (way too many characters) but enjoyable. I especially liked the Karsh parts, quite memorable. Serge however was a very uninspiring and easily overlooked protagonist, whose name I forgot plenty of times after playing the game. Not like Crono at all. by the way, if you like FF10 you should give FF7 a try. I mean, it's
got a zillion fans for a reason, plus you can think of it as contest
research! it's probably the closest in overall style to FF10, and those
two share a lot of fans. (pretty sure they're the two most popular FF

I don't think I'll actually end up voting for Mario in this contest because I prefer his competition! I dunno, makes a lot of sense to me. I remember as a kid how stunned everyone was when finding out she was a woman. It was like the biggest spoiler in gaming. I think it's the easiest explanation to accept, but I'm not sold on that being the reason for Tifa's performance. Considering how hyped this site is for Brawl, you have to figure that they've at least seen one trailer, or even followed the website for at least a few updates to see Samus without her suit. But it's not even a Brawl-exclusive thing -- she's had the ZSS in a few Metroid games now. I dunno. I don't have a good alternative, except that the female bracket is just awful, but I'm just not sold on that being the reason. Give Samus her suit and I don't think Tifa performs a whole lot differently there. Now that said hold that match again today, and I don't think it's all that close (probably 55/45 or something). --- let's mosey |

Vivi transcends Final Fantasy 9. Lulu was very likable. If she had been one of the people in X-2 instead of the new chick, I might've played that game. Barney got big when I was in late high school/early college, I couldn't stand it. Now my little baby cousin loves it and I just bought here some DVDs for her, I guess I don't mind it anymore, but if you ever watch the show it's very sucky. Not like Mister Rogers or anything at all. We really need to get Goomba in the next contest! And I agree with you even more!! Yeah, I've put 27 hours in the game and I've had it for less than four
days. A good game can get me addicted like that. Truth be told, this
has me more hooked than Prime 3 did! >_>;; And yep, VII is next on the list, although I'm kind of worried that the first two I'm playing are often regarded as the best.
