I mean, how many Board 8ers play competitive Pokemon? That's one of the reasons I have Pikachu going as far as I do. Unlike Barney the dinosaur, Pikachu is from a franchise that's one of
the best selling franchises to date. If Barney was the star of..... The
Simpsons for example, kids would hate on him, but would gradually

If Pikachu doesn't 40% with the day vote, I'll be surprised. Pikachu isn't as "kiddy" as you guys would think. Most of the hardcore Pokemon players are in their late teens/twenties. I mean, how many Board 8ers play competitive Pokemon? That's one of the reasons I have Pikachu going as far as I do. No, I'm just gonna have to disagree here. You do not simply accept and
enjoy every annoying aspect of a product, just because it's part of the
product. If Pikachu increased I blame it on Smash because spamming Down + B is the greatest thing ever. --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly. Note to everyone on Board 8: XIII_rocks never loses sig bets. |

| Even if Snake somehow manages to SFF Kirby, which, from both Nintendo characters we've seen him face since his boost, does not look probable, he should have an even more detrimental effect on Kratos. Considering they share a system and a badass character type, it's just as likely that Snake will siphon votes from Kratos |

tranny, certainly you remember in grade school how kids would constantly hate on Barney because he's "kiddy and stupid"? That's pretty much the same reason why Pikachu was hated. "If you like Pikachu, that makes you a childish loser" was the mentality back then, but now as people grow older, they care less about having a "cool" image like that. Question. Why are people so convinced of Vivi's success when: - Vivi is from FF9 - Zidane is also from FF9 - Zidane is the next best thing to fodder - Square characters are dying in this format (not all of them, but enough) I'm not saying Vivi's screwed. I'm not making any serious predictions for a good long while. I'm just asking, that's all. (And for anyone who answers - please ignore the x-stats as much as possible, since this contest seems to be doing so at least half the time.) |

also, am I seeing the idea of Snake/Yoshi SFF going on here? tell me this isn't serious. Yoshi (2006c) VS Bowser (2006c) Yoshi has a strength of 36.84. Bowser has a strength of 32.44. Yoshi wins with 55.97% of the vote! A win of 14,380 with 120,400 total votes cast. Riku has a strength of 33.01. Sora has a strength of 35.13. Sora wins with 53.02% of the vote! I'd take Yoshi in a rematch over Bowser And why is Riku being a midcarder that alarming? Square characters are dying in this format (not all of them, but enough) I think people are running with this idea way too fast. Check it out -- Rikku, Cloud, Auron, Sephiroth, Vincent, and Crono have all performed at least to a satisfactory degree. Most of them have had impressive performances. I'm even willing to say that Zidane didn't do too bad all things considered. Characters like Balthier and Tidus are performing terribly relative to their expectations. There was reason enough to be suspect of both of them -- admittedly, I wouldn't have done such before the contest began. Vivi could much sooner be grouped with the former pack over the later. He's been a pretty proven, reliable character who hasn't been on any decline. I'm thinking Vivi is going to surprise tomorrow with his performance. I'm confident -- maybe I'm just hopeful after these past couple of matches -- he has nothing to worry about from Pikachu at the least. Vivi can hold up well against Square SFF; Tidus quite clearly can't. There won't be a split there. --- let's mosey |

How has Square been "dying" anyway? FFXII has sucked, Sephiroth did poorly. And then Tidus here. That's about it, really. Sephiroth is the only one that totally blindsides me (I expected Vaan)... the others have good arguments to support doing poorly. --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly. I'll never understand how people use Master Chief getting the energy
sword as a reason for his overperformance on Crono, but don't want to
