urgh,the more i look at this match the more i hate myself for not studying the hype. my bracket looks close to being a cookie cutter. --- Rufus shinra destroyed my bracket in the sc2k6 contest. |

So what's Chief need to get here for people to accept him as an upset
threat to Snake and Sonic? Hell, I've got him beating Cloud and he's overshooting my prediction by 1%, and it'll probably end up by 3 or 4%. --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly. Note to everyone on Board 8: XIII_rocks never loses sig bets. |

3 reasons: 1. Master Chief's fanbase is weird. Not only does this format help him by removing anti-votes, but I think he's going to be a lot tougher to squish flat %agewise than a lot of characters. So he's going to look better against tough competition. 2. This is actually a reasonably tough pack that Chief is embarrassing. Stronger than what any NNer has faced, I'd say. 3, Halo 3 should boost him mid contest by a decent amount. --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly. This mostly boils down to point number one. I don't think it's
reasonable to expect Master Chief to do as well on his four packs as
Cloud, he just doesn't have the raw power (or the SFF for that matter)
to match those numbers, removed anti-votes or not. But when he's almost doing as well as non Clinkeroth entrants (hell, non Clink entrants) now I have to like the way things are going. --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly. Holy crap, Chief. He's pretty much wrapped up his first three matches,
but what about Round 4 against (probably) Dante, Leon, and Ganon. Three
macho tough guys vs. the lone Nintendo vote; I'm not sure if even

I'm not willing to overreact that much yet; yeah, MC probably takes
this division, but I don't want to just hand him it until he shows me
something other than a Yuna beatdown, a character a lot of us had

Vercetti and GTA have always been night vote entrants. We just think of
them as day vote people because of Vercetti/Kefka back in 2005. Vercetti has lost the day vote against DK, Zero, Crono and now Master Chief, while Vice City lost the day vote to KOTOR (barely) and SSBM, CJ lost it to Ness and Tenpenny lost it to Liquid Snake, albeit not by that much. I'm pretty sure that Vice City lost the day vote to Metroid Prime back in the GOTY polls in 2002 as well. The only entrants GTA has won the day vote against have been Max Payne, Kefka, and Warcraft.* *GTA was making strides before that ****ing WOW admin posted a link and the massive rally started. --- "Look out-- It's Liquids and Gases!" |
