The "female bracket" factor is a result of 1-seed overperformances by
Tifa/Zelda/Yuna, coupled with Zelda/Tifa overperformances on Samus,
topped off with a Samus overperformance on Snake (due to NIntendo SFF?) TuRtLe ~~~ 56/72 in the contest. Next pick: The Chief > The Summoner BlAcK TuRtLe. The cream of Zero fanboyism |

Not happening. Ever. I don't care if Halo 3, 4, 5, and 6 are
released ON THE DAY OF THE MATCH, Ganondorf got no pic, and Chief's
votes counted double, Chief still wouldn't beat him. I have Ganon > Sonic, and I'm still picking Chief > Ganon in the divisional finals. Luigi's just going to hurt him too much to win. --- Rapid analysis, accurate judgment, and superb powers of concentration. That is all we need. |

Yuna is a few notches above Frog, Vercetti is a little below Axel. I don't buy he's getting SFFed that much. This is easily on par with the NNer four packs we've seen. --- Raiden, Kirby, my stat analyses and my own face all suck horribly. Note to everyone on Board 8: XIII_rocks never loses sig bets. |

I'd really like to see how Tifa or Zelda would have done here. To see just how much of an overperformance they managed... ...God, why did Tifa have to get snubbed like that? Her past performances are reason enough to think she'd been interesting here in any match! --- "Opinions are like butts, little girl. Rikku > Yuna is looking to be confirmed, and it probably always has
been true, too. She is the more popular character and has a more
dedicated fanbase. When Tidus inevitably flops again, Rikku will have
finally proven that she is the 2nd strongest FFX character and will
hopefully return in 2k8 over Yuna and Tidus, assuming a normal bracket.

I actually think M. Chief breaking the NN would be fitting. So far you
had Link and Cloud, the top two, as the top Nintendo and Sony reps,
respectively. Having the breaker be the top Microsoft rep would be

Rikku > Yuna.... what? Rikku's round 1 performance was more Knuckles jobbing than her impressing. I'm starting to think there was quite a bit of overlap between Yoshi/Knux, but I suppose we'll see in Round 2. Speaking of round 2, anyone think Mega Man can break 50% there again? We all saw what he did to Yoshi in 2k5, and we all saw what Yoshi seems to have done to Knuckles this year. TuRtLe ~~~ 56/72 in the contest. Next pick: The Chief > The Summoner BlAcK TuRtLe. Rikku > Yuna.... what? Rikku's round 1 performance was more Knuckles jobbing than her impressing. I'm starting to think there was quite a bit of overlap between Yoshi/Knux, but I suppose we'll see in Round 2. Yoshi looked so good there, though, and that is certainly among the strongest 4-packs of the contest in my opinion. I can't see there really having been that much SFF between them. And I really couldn't see Knuckles bombing this badly today vs the Chief, so I don't think Rikku would bomb this bad either. Plus, Rikku's only other non-female bracket match, vs Ryu, was stuck behind that very suspicious Bowser/Ryu match that still leaves me bitter to this day. Rikku was underrated in 2k5 too. --- "Even beasts know when to give up." ~Raphael Sorel |

Master Chief/Sora would be a great match. The trends would be
near-identical, so no big swings, their strengths should be roughly the
same now, and their anti-votes will cancel eachother out.l TuRtLe ~~~ 56/72 in the contest. Next pick: The Chief > The Summoner BlAcK TuRtLe. The cream of Zero fanboyism |
Janus5000 | Posted 9/20/2007 10:01:52 PM | message detail |
KH gained about a % more than Halo against CV. Plus it's slightly
harder to go from 49 to 50 than it is to go from 44 to 45. That's not
too decisively favoring KH, but it's enough to make me think Sora would
edge out the Chief with it. --- "Those who cast the vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything." - Joseph Stalin |
The n00b Avenger | Posted 9/20/2007 10:03:06 PM | message detail |
Well... I know KH gained more whole percents against Castlevania. But
that's not really a fair comparison since Halo started out extremely
strong against Castlevania so it was never down as much to begin
with(like I said earlier, the first hour there was actually Halo's best
time) If you just compare how they performed in the day to how they
performed purely in the night vote, they were just about even --- This story is not an end yet. Because only you are in the infinity loop. |

Chief vs. Sora post-Halo 3 could be interesting, but Sora's performance
last year was impressive enough to me that I think he still takes it. And then Sora's got his PSP and DS games coming, which would definitely be enough to sway it in his favor. And maybe Brawl?
