Let's put a hypothetical situation here. Assume Snake/Ganondorf make the finals with Cloud/Link. Taking Cloud/Link/Snake from the Battle Royal, the split is 45%/35%/20%. Throw in Ganondorf who (for the sake of argument) gets 10%. Who is he going to leech more off of? Link of course. He'll take miniscule support from Cloud/Snake, but most of it will come out of Link's pocket. Say instead of Ganondorf, we use Sonic. Sonic has no clear overlap with any of them, so he'll take a much more even %age from them all. Say he gets 14%, he'd take about 4 each from Snake/Cloud and 6 from Link due to slight Nintendo/Sonic overlap. --- y halo thar turtle's alt |

I caved in and bit on the Halo 3 hype, so Master Chief better not
disappoint tomorrow. By the way, I just noticed I have Master Chief
> Alucard in the 2nd Round. OOPS! --- HOT WOMEN: http://plum.sakura.ne.jp/~alice/gallery/graphic/2006/796hp.jpg http://plum.sakura.ne.jp/~alice/gallery/graphic/2006/844hp.jpg |

And I've gotta admit: The possibility of Mudkip making round three
scares me, depending on what Luigi and Ganondorf get here. As much as I
hate to say it, Ganon's impressing me here, even if he is facing some
scrubs. Ratchet is among the worst of fodder, and the other two barely
breach the fodder line at best. Still, Luigi's fourpack likely is no
better, but Mudkip messes all that up. --- "I'm no hero...Never was. I'm just an old killer...hired to do some wet work." |

No way does Ganondorf get 10% against those 3, and even if he did at
least 1% of that would come from the others. It's pretty much
impossible for Link not to win. --- FFXII NLB - finished - 39 marks FFXII LLIENANMiNDM - Bhujerba (post-Ba'Gamnan) |

In a 4way poll against Link, Cloud, and Snake? I'd take a guess at 8% being Ganon's ceiling. --- yoblazer33: NO LIMITZ Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |
LeonhartFour | Posted 9/20/2007 7:34:47 AM | message detail |
If Ganondorf gets 12% against Link alone, he's going to fare much worse
with two other guys who would beat him head-to-head as it is. --- "I'm no hero...Never was. I'm just an old killer...hired to do some wet work." |

Also, I mentioned this many topics ago but it was apparently
overlooked, but could we add RPGuy's percentage by hour link to the
first post of the stats topic? --- "I'm no hero...Never was. I'm just an old killer...hired to do some wet work." |
YoAriel33 | Posted 9/20/2007 7:38:05 AM | message detail |
And I just remembered, Samus didn't even finish above 8% in the Battle
Royal last year. Granted, her match had two extra entrants, but Ganon
is a leach of an entirely different level. If Link picked up some sort
of increased inter-series SFF power from Twilight Princess, we could
possibly see Ganon struggling to hit 5-6%. --- yoblazer33: NO LIMITZ Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |

No way does Ganondorf get 10% against those 3, and even if he did at
least 1% of that would come from the others. It's pretty much
impossible for Link not to win. I realize that. The point I was trying to make is that Ganondorf being in the poll in no way helps Link as (I think swirldude) said on the previous page. --- y halo thar turtle's alt |

RPGuy was saying Ganon hurts Link's percentage less than Sonic would.
Which is of course, true, because Sonic will actually be getting votes.
But Ganon obviously would hurt Link more than he'd hurt the others. --- FFXII NLB - finished - 39 marks FFXII LLIENANMiNDM - Bhujerba (post-Ba'Gamnan) |

That's a tough one. Without any off-site rallying, I'd have called this
for Vergil a long time ago. But rallying could be a huge factor here. I
think I'd still call Vergil a slight favorite. --- FFXII NLB - finished - 39 marks FFXII LLIENANMiNDM - Bhujerba (post-Ba'Gamnan) |

Thrall did nothing miraculous at the start of the poll or in the
morning. It would make very little sense for the after school vote to
favor him enough to make this interesting. Vergil has this. Looks like I picked the wrong time to listen to Funk. =( |

*wakes up* Wow. Well, this was quite unexpected after watching Thrall completely kill Vergil's small lead late last night. Vergil was starting to regain when I went to bed, but I thought it was just a regular stall/gain a little before Thrall would swing it back again. If anything, I thought Vergil could still be ahead by a small margin. But he's really putting it to Thrall right now. --- Dp, you are one awesome, sexy bastard. I see some old talk about Cloud > Link, so I'd like to share my thoughts. in my bracket, I have Seph/Mario whatever order, they make it together, and then Link > Vincent (>Crono). Well basically, I took Link > Mario the next round as a *major* reach obviously, assuming Vincent can hold is own against Seph, and so can Mario against Link. This is still a pretty bad pick - its still incredibly unlikely heck Mario could get 4th, however.. The reason I did this, was because the next round is Cloud Link Samus Mario. At this point, I took Cloud > Link, and I see this possible (probable?) scenario given the matchup. I know its not the best picks, but once again I wanted something non-cookie cutter that would be worth a LOT of points over the majority of brackets, and that was atleast feasible and made sense. Anyway, that is the only way that I can see Cloud > Link anywhere. I obv took Link > Cloud in the finals. --- Zero > HK-47, Luigi > Tingle, Ganondorf > Vergil Upcoming Votes: Lloyd, Luigi, Ganondorf, Yuna |

I for one am extremely relieved, I was very thrall-nervous when I saw the numbers Arthas was putting up. Same. I was even expecting to lose these points. My chances of making the leaderboard are still somehow alive! Or at least maybe for my alt, which is 2 points ahead of my normal bracket because of only one difference so far, that being not being completely biased in the Magus match. Meh, I'd need a lot of help today though, bottom end of the Top 237 right now with 2 highly controversial matches coming up and a 3rd that's a complete toss-up. I'm not making it....I'm 0/3 so far in situations where I expect to crack the leaderboard if I get it right. --- Dp, you are one awesome, sexy bastard.
