I like Zero. I really do. Out of all the video game characters to
character, Zero comes off to me as the coolest. I'd like to see him do
well in this contest, but Black Turtle's incessant and annoying banter
on Zero > Crono and Vincent wish me ill-will on one of my favorite

......oh and Raiden needs to pull a "Phoenix Wright" and do just enough
in the closing updates to beat out Sam Fisher. I got hosed on Bomberman

Yeah, I'm with tranny on this one. I think Crono's doing rather well
here. He's certainly not out of the clear when Vincent shows up, but I
don't think this preformance gives the go-ahead for the Vincent >

I wouldn't say Crono's performance is bad
here, but you gotta consider that one's expectations for Crono before
were under the assumption that Raiden was going to be a fair bit
stronger than he's showing to be here. I think this is within that
"standard" Crono performance -- he's not looking terrible, but he's
hardly looking impressive either. Based on what we've seen from both, I

for whatever it's worth, I think this format helps Fisher out. I'd
never pick Fisher over Raiden, and I don't think it would be close
one-on-one. yeah, Raiden is disappointing, but not by a ton.. at least for my expectations. I had him at 23%? meh, 3%. not a big deal. --- xyzzy |

I think that Crono is doing just fine here. 48% percent with the second night vote coming (though I doubt it will boost him that much) is pretty good against these three. I really don't think Raiden's in too much trouble here. He's got one
more hour of harcore after-school vote, and then it starts dwindling

For what it's worth, Raiden is putting up the second highest percentage
against a Noble Niner so far this contest right now...granted, #1 was

well, my expectations were pretty low given Frog and Magus's
performances. for me, this match was more confirming that Crono still
had something left as opposed to seeing him dominate. Crono's just not
the type to dominate. besides you thought Link would win with like 148% --- xyzzy |

I think the people who know Big Boss pretty well in the series are MUCH
more likely to favor him than those who know Raiden pretty well, then
throw in MGS3 > MGS2. I don't know about Big Boss being legitimately stronger than Raiden and having Fisher in the poll clouds things up a bit more, but considering how much better he did afew days ago than against Auron in 2k5, I'm tempted to argue that there was some FF/MGS SFF in the match. --- Damn, most of my dates involve mocking and/or beating up people like you and your bride-to-be, so I really have no advice --Horatio |

Also, just for a bit more of fun MGS-comparisions...Raiden currently
has 20.24% in a poll with Crono, Fisher, and Belmont. Revolver had
17.68% in a poll with Cloud, Jill, and Zolom. Revolver > Raiden looks as likely as ever right now head-to-head, especially since Raiden was such a love/hate character and only in the least-favored MGS game. Poor Simon. I wonder why he can't perform somewhat close to the level
of Alucard and the Castlevania series in general. Not expecting him to
win of course but I just felt he should be doing better in these

Poor Simon. I wonder why he can't perform somewhat close to the

I'm still confused by why anyone would expect big things out of Simon.
he's just a Generic Castlevania Guy. I figured Soma was about his
ceiling since Aria/Dawn are probably more popular than the original
Castlevania. I mean, I wouldn't expect a regular NES dude to do much here. I wouldn't expect much out of the Contra Guy, of Rash/Pimple/Zitz, of the Crystalis Guy... --- xyzzy |

| I just realised how easy Crono has it here... If Bidoof or Phoenix had been in this match, OH DEAR... Link just laughed at Bidoof's 'power', but it would have destabilised Crono. Oh, and FWIW I think Magus's result was damn good considering the Phoenix Wright factor. |

Next time, they should put Richter in there somewhere as the Belmont
representative. At that point he should have the PSP Rondo remake out.
That plus SOTN should theoretically make him do better than Simon or

People keep saying that Raiden is weaker than was anticipating...but
does no one believe the possibility that Raiden is as strong as they
thought and both Crono and Sam are strong enough to balance things out
