Contest Stats and Discussion - Part 487

Sam Fisher isn't doing as bad as I would have thought. He is doing better than Simon Belmont, which was in debate and his loss to Raiden was expected.

For the record, Sam Fisher has knocked off 106 votes in the last hour. He'd probably have a lot more if he'd be consistent with his gains.

I never thought Fisher losing to Simon was plausible. I really expected this one to be boring, with a fairly wide disparity between all four characters.

This feels like what Bomberman was doing. He made steady progress, but he just couldn't keep up the consistent gains...

Yeah, he was at 659, about half of this right now.

Yeah, I don't get the Simon backing either. He was weak fodder in 2k2 and nothing has changed to improve him in the slightest.

Really, Simon looks equal to Raiden in the stats (being that both are placed so close to the aweful Ryo Hazuki), but Raiden was in a clear SFF match with Snake. And MGS has hit a high note recently. There was really no reason to back Simon here at all, and very little to back Sam.

ChichiriMuyo | Posted 9/17/2007 1:25:54 PM | message detail
The rematches would be our best way, if any, to work existing X-stats into compliance with this year's data. Of course there's a whole hell of a lot of SFF to worry about, so it's probably fruitless, but it'd probably be tons of fun for the peopel who like stats anyway.

Impressive couple of updates from Sam though he has yet to be anything resembling consistent. This is enough to start worrying me. I hope the MGS night vote can quell any comeback attempt by Sam.

anyone mind telling me HK-47's vote patterns?

He was very steady in his lone match, but gained steadily during the day. Knowing his opponent was from Kingdom Hearts, that's pretty impressive.
MarioSuperstar | Posted 9/17/2007 1:38:44 PM | message detail
quite interesting. though he sounds more of a cult guy, I think his night vote wouldn't be too bad either.

Hopefully this means last year was just a fluke and Crono is back to his 2002-5 voting patterns.

Remember that he's with two day vote chumps and one character who's merely passable with the day, especially for an Xbox character (and who hasn't been able to make much headway at all until the last 15 minutes or so). This isn't a *good* performance by Crono here...

And this is what Fisher needed to do to convince me he could make this into a match. If it's anything resembling consistent, Raiden's in trouble.

Just looked at the updater now. Heh, I had a feeling the idea of Raiden getting second easily depended far too much on hype. Plus, I bet a lot of people don't even recognize him with that pic.
