Miles and Bidoof are the two characters grabbing for second. I’m going
with Miles, since hardcore fanbases seem to be thriving in this format.
The only thing I’m worried about is him not being as out there as
Phoenix is. Moltar’s Bracket Says: Link > Miles > Bidoof > Agent J Moltar’s Prediction is: Link: 71% - Miles: 13% - Bidoof: 11% - Agent J: 6% Ultimaterializer’s Analysis This is an odd match in that there's one overly dominant character against three bottom-of-the-barrel scrubs. I seriously won't be surprised if Link gets 75% of the vote here; he's that damn strong these days. Which leaves a crapshoot for whoever comes in second. No one has heard of Elite Beat Agents, Miles isn't really in on the Phoenix Wright fad and Bidoof was a pure joke nomination into the contest. But even though it *kills* me to go against my favorite character (my license plate says EDGEY, no joke), I don't think Miles can pull this out. Not because he isn't strong enough to, but because the popularity of Diamond/Pearl on GameFAQs is staggering. Even against SFF, I think Bidoof will have just barely enough in him to pull off second place. Ulti's Prediction: Link [77.00%] Bidoof [10.00%] Miles [8.00%] Agent J [5.00%] Heroic Mario’s Analysis Link -- 80% Miles Edgeworth -- 8% Bidoof -- 7% Agent J -- 5% Great match or greatest match? Usually, matches where one of the noble nine blowout fodder is neither exciting nor entertaining -- but this is different! I want to see just how much Link can dominate a poll with three other characters there, even if they are three of the weakest characters we’ll probably ever see. I still can’t believe he got the draw he did. You have Miles Edgeworth from Phoenix Wright, who is bound to be that much worse than Phoenix; you have Bidoof, the board 8 joke character of the contest and random Pokemon extraordinaire; and finally, you have Agent J, who is in some random DS game that Funk hypes (enough said). The big question here is which of the other three characters are going to suck the least. The general consensus would appear to support Bidoof -- but you have to take into consideration the place where the consensus comes from. I’m thinking the fanatical Phoenix Wright base will be able to scrounge up enough votes here to barely get Edgeworth by. It wouldn’t surprise me if Bidoof managed to pull it off, though. The Pokemon love around these parts is ... augh. Bracket: Link > Miles Edgeworth Vote: Link Yoblazer’s Analysis We have another very debated match, almost all of it centered on the second place battle between Bidoof and Miles Edgeworth. Bidoof's supporters point to Nidoran's surprisingly good performance against Samus last year and maintain that, as a joke Pokemon, the little beaver guy will do the same. Edgeworth's crew, conversely, claim that Bidoof is not nearly as popular as the older, more established Nidoran, will get very little love in the face of Link's might, and does not have a hardcore fanbase with the devotion of the PW clan. Personally, I side with Miles Edgeworth. Joke character or not, Bidoof is very new, and I get the feeling that he's not necessarily as liked outside of Board 8. Also, he's up against Link, and let's be honest, how many times does the contest god have to overperform before people get it: you don't cross the boss, and in the world of Nintendo, LINK IS THE BOSS. Miles will also feel the hurt, but he has fans who are much more likely to rally and are extremely faithful to him, and when fighting for the miniscule percentages these two will be fighting for, such a fanbase is indispensable. Doesn't surprise me that Board 8 thinks it's the funniest thing ever. Must be the teeth. Damnable beavers. Anyway, Sim Beaver has no sway on this site, not even with the boost of Sim Beaver 2. In fact, I envision those that know of the game will be hacking GameFAQs to remove his votes. That's how hated it is. Most people don't think the game is funny like B8 does, either, never mind this guy. ... huh? Pokemon? Pikachu isn't for a few divisions, shut up, man. Last guy? Oh okay, I know this guy. Yeah... Miles Edgeworth. This guy is gonna have a devoted fanbase for sure. The people love their Phoenix Wright. Now, of course, he isn't the main character, and he is up against Link, so we must be reasonable here. 12%? Yeah whatever, that's my stab. Of course, it's still way more than the other guys are gonna get. I feel bad for J, though. Men in Black was awesome. Link sucks, but I must see him dominate this jobber fodder well. At any rate, Link has this, and if you didn't know that you should stop
now and question why you're on this site in the first place. Agent J
should be no threat, EBA isn't popular and Agent J is... ... WHO THE HELL IS AGENT J Which leaves us with El Prosecutor and his less than formidable foe. At first glance, this seems easy pickings for Edgeworth - his hardcore vote stacked up against Link SFFing Bidoof shouldn't be a problem for him. Sure, he's DS, but... ...then you realize that Link is a black hole, and even the most 'hardcore' of characters get hurt by his presence on a comparable scale to the casuals. You realize that he's gonna be sucking up the vote so violently that the others are gonna be fighting over scraps, and those scraps kinda matter when a lot of the joke/default votes Bidoof gets are gonna hurt Edgey bad. It's a lot to contend against, and Edgeworth doesn't have a lot of casual appeal either. This is basically a truer, more real test of the PW fanbase. Take out the crazy B8 rush and the "rallies" and focus on the characters. How much do people really care, and how much is it a fad? For myself, I'm gonna nullify everything I just said and say I'm placing faith in... faith. Edgeworth is going 1-3 on Bidoof's ass, and don't you forget it. Karma Hunter's Vote: Miles. Edgey. Worthy. I usually don't support arguments about "character depth" or whatever,
but Miles Edgeworth just eats Bidoof alive. it's embarrassing that
Bidoof even made the contest, let alone that people actually find him
funny. I've never seen anything so devoid of humour in my life, and I
spend a significant portion of my day watching people complain about an
internet contest. SDR is funnier than Bidoof. Smurf's crappy alts are
better than Bidoof. LOL I'M A FURRY is better than Bidoof. okay, I
might have gone too far there. but it's close. there is nothing
appealing about Bidoof at all and anybody that thinks differently needs

Bidoof sucks so much voting for it guarantees a quick trip to hell transience's prediction: Link - 70.44%, Bidoof - 11.95%, Miles Edgeworth - 11.84%, Agent J - 5.77% Guest’s Analysis - BigBob Link gets the biggest blowout of the contest, no surprise there. So which of the three fodderiffic characters come in second? Let's see. Agent J is from the super awesome DS game Elite Beat Agents...which sold like 10 copies. It's one of the best games I played this year, but it would take an act of god (AKA Sakurai) to get him in second. That leaves us with Bidoof and Edgeworth. Bidoof got in on support from Board 8 alone, but Edgeworth probably did as well. Bidoof is from the recently released Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, while Edgeworth is a character from Phoenix Wright. Both are DS games. Who do I give my support to? Miles ****ing Edgeworth. You see, outside of Board 8, nobody cares about Bidoof. If you honestly think joke voting will propel Bidoof, recall that Midgar Zolom got 5.51% against Cloud. Not a very impressive number. Though the fact that Phoenix Wright 3 only got 5.38% in that "What October game are you looking forward to most" poll doesn't make me feel as safe. However, the average person would be indifferent to Zolom. Bidoof...is hated. In-game, he's a worthless pokemon, and even competitively, you kind of you have to base a team around his evolution to get it to work right. Even joke voters have the zany Agent J and the badass lawyer to choose from instead. As for the rest of the pokemon fans, they'll probably be voting for Link. Regardless of the differences in genre, Pokemon and Zelda have always been for the same platforms, and typically geared towards the same audiences. Link will suck up votes like mad throughout the poll, including those from Pokemon fans. And Edgeworth...fortunately Edgeworth has plenty of factors going his way. The Phoenix Wright fanbase is quite rabid and definitely will vote its characters over anything. Edgeworth will have some sort of resistance to the 4-way SFF in this match, and at the very least, he has the Objection site to fall back on. In fact, take a look at these results from my "Rate the Fad" series on Board 8: Objection! - 8.18/10 (39 votes) Bidoof - 4.26/10 (37 votes) Wow, I can't believe I actually found a use for those results. Anyway, even the very people who nominated Bidoof prefer Objection over him, quite decisively, I might add. |

| The only real "edge" that Bidoof has against
Edgeworth (no pun intended) is that he's more recognizable thanks to
his presence in Pokemon, but that won't help him enough. Edgeworth's
dedicated fanbase, along with (what I consider) a likelier chance to
suck up underdog/joke votes, has 2nd place nice and snug. Too bad I
will fail to guess the percentages right because half the Analysis Crew
will be siding with him too. I suck at guessing, so I'll let Edgeworth
